  • Beautiful house and surroundings

"We spent a week here with family members in May ... just missed the beautiful roses, which surround the house ... but enjoyed the scent of the jasmine while sitting on the patio with a glass of wine in the evening. The house is lovely, very comfortable for a group, and wonderfully situated down a very private road in the middle of vineyards. We'll plan to stay here again, next time we're in the area."

  • Nicest Condo in the Complex!

"This is most likely the nicest Condo in the complex, or even in Princeville for that matter. It has been tastefull decorated with new furniture, appliances, and floors. The Lania is an awesome place to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. The St. Regis Hotel Princeville is next door and a great place to enjoy the beach, have breakfast looking at the bay and the mountains, or enjoy jazz music with wine in the bar. Janet is very helpful if you have problems, as we initially did getting connected to the Internet. I would highly recommend this Condo as your Kauai home!"

  • Vermont Country

"This is a special place. If you're looking to experience Vermont countryside in its glory, this is a great place to do it. Comfortable home, warm, rustic, and inviting. Great access to hiking and trails and fields right on the property. We loved it, and will be back to enjoy some great Vermont winter...!"

  • Beautiful Home on a Beautiful Beach

"I grew up in Kailua so coming to Oahu and spending time on Kailua Beach was a must. The Kalaka house was so perfect for us and exceeded our expectations for our week stay! Our group had 8 total - our family of 4 (includes children ages 4 and 6), a set of grandparents (age 70+) and 2 adult babysitters (age 20+). We had 2 rental cars and were very thankful the owners had cleared out the garage. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the house. The cleaning crew does a fantastic job. I'm picky and the house was immaculate. Granted the house is old with it's quirks but nothing more than stubborn sliding doors or doors that would latch right away. There was a plethora of clean beach/bath towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, and sand toys. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with everything including some basic pantry items including coffee which was a plus! With 2 small kids we truly appreciated having the washer and dryer. We also liked the ability of connecting our phone or iPad to play music. My favorite part was playing at the beach and the convenience of it being in the back yard. Very helpful with a 4 and 6 year old who want a change of scenery constantly. We also liked hanging out on the lanai in the shade too. We all loved hanging out at the house although we did venture out as well. We had dinner at Baci Bistro in Kailua - pretty good food but didn't warrant a return trip IMO, Buzz's Steakhouse for lunch which is always great, Island Snow for shave ice as well as Matsumotos in Haleiwa. Finally dinner at Alan Wongs in Honolulu - totally worth the splurge and we'd return again and again! The best ahi poke I had was from Tamura Wine shop in Aikahi Park Shopping Center. Super yummy and really good wine selection and prices. We shopped locally in Kailua and found some of the best treasures. We arrived on a day where there was a bad storm and Uta and the owners were very responsive in helping with cleaning out the pool as we couldn't find the pool net. One of the owners gave us a brief history of the house which was fascinating. We loved hearing the background of the home. We could tell the owners take great care of the place and Uta the rental manager is wonderful! Between them and the house itself we would love to come back to this very spot. Finally thank you for the welcome basket of goodies which were gobbled up in a few days."
