Best Rental in San Miguel
"My wife and grown children stayed here for 2 weeks. We have used VRBO for something like 20 years now and this rental property rates at the top for beauty and value. Everything about the interior is just great. The owner has done a fabulous job with great artwork and my wife and I enjoyed it every day. There are many things to do in San Miguel. This house is located on a hill as is most of the town and so at 6500 ft elevation make sure you take a few days to adjust to the altitude. Up the street is a neighborhood called the Balconies. Great exercise and a beautiful walk. All taxis are 40 pesos anywhere in town. 50 pesos if you call them. So cheap and everyone is so nice wherever you go The botanical gardens are a 20 min walk up the hill and make sure to eat breakfast there one day if you can. Tuesday is the market, (Tianguis market). If you really want to see the locals and how they live, This is the place. Great place to buy produce. Right of the farm. The place is huge. Very safe. Also, It is right next to Soriana market and so an easy walk to the supermarket and you can take a taxi home. There are so many great restaurants in San Miguel. Just a few not to miss. Luna is great, They do not serve till 2:00 but the view is amazing and the food is 5 star. Also A little trick is that in the 5 star hotels if you eat lunch or have drinks you can hang out by the pool all day for free. Muro Cafe is not to be missed. Breakfast and lunch only. Closed Wed. Really great food. Mostly expats. Seems most eat there all the time, I can see why. Cupanios bakery just off the Jardin is excellent. Do not miss this one. The Restaurant is also 5 star and said to be very expensive but considering the quality of the food. Very reasonable. Via Organica is really great breakfast and lunch. Try a margarita there, The best ever. One last place The taco truck off the Jardin, there on the weekends. Best taco ever.
If you rent this property you will not be disappointed. We will be back for sure."

"Absolutely fantastic home in a perfect location! Close to Cedar Creek Stables, Boulderline Zipline, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock! We had everything we needed and more! Shirley was wonderful to work with and all of her suggestions and recommendations were so very helpful. So thankful we found this amazing home for our mountain getaway!"

"Mitch was very helpful, both before and during our stay! The villa was very nice and had everything we needed. We are 2 adults with 2 teenagers, who each took along a friend. Enough room for everyone, enough separate space so we weren't all on top of each other. The kitchen was equipped well, a highlight was having the kids each plan and prepare a dinner for us, which was quite a success. Loved the beach! Rented bikes and we all took turns riding the beach and the trails. Wonderful. Another highlight was the afternoon the girls were swimming in the ocean and dolphins swam to within about 20 feet of them!! Part of one day we were partially without power at Ocean Walk. The front door wouldn't open, nor the main elevator work, but we found another access and elevator, so it didn't crimp our style. 1st visit to HHI, but will probably go back sometime in the future, and would stay here again."

"We were pleased with the house, plenty of room for 12. House is old with charm. Great bedrooms on all floors, with two on the bottom and 4 upstairs. Large kitchen and 3 decks, two on lower level and 1.25 on upper. Close to the small square for exploring and lake real close and great hiking trails!"
