  • Spacious & Close to Beach

"We chose this property as a spacious option to share with extended family members. The rooms were very large and the 3 levels of living space provided much need privacy between family members. Each room had its own bathroom which is an added bonus. The condo was clean and was just a few minutes walk to the beach. Future renters that are staying several nights might want to pack drinking water, cleaning/hygiene supplies, beach towels and paper goods (paper towels & toilet paper). Bar soap, dish/dishwasher soap, 1 roll of paper towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom were provided, but there was no shampoo, laundry soap or disenfected provided. We were looking forward to using the gas grill, but it was in poor condition (dirty/one burner wouldn't light) and quickly ran out of gas (which is the renter's responsibility to replace). There is no internet connection on the property. One last thing to make note of before renting is that the property is for sale and while we were renting the property did have a showing. The owner was gracious and worked around our needs for scheduling the showing, but it did catch us off guard and we worried that there could have been several more showings during our 3 night stay (thank goodness that was not the case). Overall, our stay was pleasant, property was clean/spacious, close to the beach and shops and the owner was professional and easy to work with. We would stay at this property again in the future."

  • Beautiful, spacious, historic home - walking distance to downtown Dectur

"We actually live in Atlanta, but wanted to rent a house that was spacious enough for an extended family gathering and walking distance to restaurants and entertainment in downtown Decatur. I would recommend this house to any visitors looking for a spacious home with walking access to food and fun for a reasonable price. We stayed at this beautiful home for a week during the holidays. The house was already decorated with holiday lights and the owners allowed us to add our own personal decorations! The house was so spacious and accommodating that our group of several adults and two children had enough room to all be in the open floor plan family-room, but not be piled on top of each other. The billiards room was a favorite place to spend time in with cocktails and snacks before a brief walk to the downtown Decatur square for dinner and entertainment. The owners also offered a projector and screen for watching movies off our computer. We didn't take advantage of that, but will definitely do so if we rent it again in the future. We are thinking about renting this same beautiful house again in the warmer months to take advantage of the backyard pool and amenities! The owners were very nice, easy to work with, and accessible for a quick question or two during our stay."

  • Local family

"We live in Colorado Springs, and I've been renting houses in Summit county every year since 1992 for ski trips with my kids, who are now mostly grown up. So, we've stayed in many different places. Usually we stay in town, because I like to be able to walk to dinner, etc. I was a little hesitant to stay in the Boots' cabin as it was a four mile drive to town, but in fact, I liked it very well, and will try to come back again if we can. Actually, the drive is quite short, and it was easy to park up on French, Ridge, or Harris streets to head over to Main Street, and the cabin is so much more spacious and nice than anything we could have found in Breck (at least on our budget). Skiing access is also easy. Simply park over by the Gondola, walk 50 to 100 yards, depending on how early you arrive in the morning, and hop on the Gondola. Convenient, easy. Much better in fact than waiting to catch a town bus from an in town house or condo. The beds are wonderful, the hot tub is great, the kitchen is very well equipped, really, outstanding. We had two of our three kids with us, and there would have easily been room for two more people (four nice bunk beds...nice bunk beds, suitable for adult size people as my kids are at this point) in the bedrooms, and there is a nice sofa bed in the living room, if you really wanted to sleep as many as possible. Finally, Sandra is very easy to work with, very prompt, business-like, friendly. In short, highly recommended. I've been tempted to buy a place up in Breck over the years, but have not felt energetic enough to deal with all of the responsibilities of second home ownership. If I did, though, I'd look for a place in Blue River laid out pretty much like the Boots cabin."
