  • Great week on the beach.

"This condo was right on the beach and exactly as pictured. My family of four (2 adults, 1 school-aged kid and 1 toddler) had plenty of space for the week. The building is easy to find. And, bonus, it's right by a traffic light. That makes it easy to find after dark and easy to get in and out of the parking lot. There are grocery stores nearby, including Wal-Mart, dollar stores, and liquor stores. The building has an indoor/outdoor pool. It was well-maintained. The patio has plenty of deck chairs and tables. The unit itself is on the east corner of the building. Because of this, the windows in both bedrooms offer fantastic views of the beach. The buildings to the east of the condo are 2-story houses, so the views from the bedrooms are not obstructed by another condo building. The living room also has 2 big windows with beach views. The balcony is perfect. There are 4 chairs and 2 small tables, just right for morning coffee or afternoon Popsicle break. The only downside of the condo location is that the master bedroom is near the elevator, so there is some noise from that at night and early morning. The bedrooms are just what you would expect. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a full bathroom attached. The shower in the master bath has a hand-held shower head, which was handy for using with the toddler. You may want to bring your own pillows. There is plenty of space - we kept all the family's luggage in this room. The 2nd bedroom is pretty small. The queen bed takes up most of the room. But, again, there is a big window and the room gets plenty of light, so it doesn't seem cramped, especially if you're using it for kids. The kitchen area has everything you need and the appliances are easy to use. There's a strange assortment of utensils and dishes and pans, probably a mix of what the owners provided and what other vacationers have left behind. Don't worry - there are several bottle openers and cork screws! The living room has a small table with 4 upholstered chairs, a couch, and two chairs. It's exactly how it looks in the photos. In general, the condo is clean. The floors, kitchen and bathrooms were clean, although there was some mold in the bathroom. The linens were not luxurious, but they were adequate. The owner was great to work with, we booked months in advance, and he kept in touch- even sent a Xmas card! For breakfast, try Cafe Beignet, by Winn Dixie. King Neptune's (Gulf Shores) has a great lunch."

  • Wonderful cabin!

"This was a great cabin, in a great location, for a great price! There were seven of us and had plenty of room. The kids loved the decorations and the fenced in yard. The cabin was close to everything, but far enough away as well. It was very neat and clean when we arrived and stocked with everything we needed. Great place!"

  • Beautiful!

"Each year four couples get together for a few days. We have done this for 25 years. This year we went to Lake Pointe, as we enjoy the outdoors and thought. Alexandria, Minnesota would be a nice place to visit. When we looked at the website, we knew we were getting a nice house, but when we drove up and actually saw it we were totally amazed. We walked around the house not believing this place was ours for a few days. The outside has a nice pontoon and paddle boat that work well. The yard is absolutely gorgeous, with tables to seat many people along with a smaller table right close by the lake. There is also a fire pit close by the house with chairs there for eight people. We were there in early September and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset outside listening to the loons. At the time we were there, it was very quiet and peaceful since it was off season. You can fish from the dock if you like, but hang on to your rod as the bass will pull your rod right into the water! And that water is cold when trying to retrieve it. We can only imagine how beautiful it is right now with the leaves turning colors! The inside of the house is huge and beautiful! There is a gourmet kitchen with beautiful granite countertops. Everything you need is right there. There is also a large formal dining room and living room. We mostly spent our time in the bright, cheery sunroom playing games or enjoying the outdoors, but believe me, if you need your space, you can find it here. I noticed there are many items available for children, like pack and plays, walker, high chair, rainbow play set etc...so this also would be a great place for family reunions. We loved our time there and in Alexandria. It would be very difficult to think anyone would not enjoy their time at Lake Pointe. The owner was also always available if we had any questions. Loved it!"
