"I cannot say enough great things about this home! It was even better than I expected! We rented this home for a family getaway and it was the perfect size. We enjoyed the lake, the ski lift and ziplining at Boyne Resort. We also enjoyed taking walks on the bike path. We took a trip to Mackinac Island, Petoskey and Charelvoix. I would highly reccomend this home! I have rented many homes through VRBO and this by far has been the nicest one. The owners are a pleasure to work with. We have a son who is very allergic to pets and he had no problems in this home!"

"We really enjoyed our stay here for 4 days in May. The house is comfortable, spacious, and warm on those cool nights thanks to an excellent wood-burning stove. It was nicer than the pictures showed, with an updated main bath, new washer and dryer, and enhanced safety of the parking area. The location is really good - quiet and secluded but still fairly close to everything. There is a shopping center at Rio Road in Carmel with Safeway, CVS, Chevron, etc. so we got groceries and cooked breakfast and dinner here as they have everything you need. One evening thick fog rolled in and we were above it, which was just beautiful. We were fascinated by the old photo albums and the history of this house and the family that owns it. Palo Colorado Road gets very steep a few miles in, and the property's driveway is pretty tricky, but we were fine in a regular rental car. The narrow but paved road also leads to many other properties plus a campground and several trailheads, so you will encounter other vehicles.
FYI: There is poison oak everywhere in Big Sur, including on this property, but it can be avoided and we enjoyed walking around the property using the trails the owners mapped out."

"This was our 2nd year in a row at this house and it was wonderful again! Renee is so easy to work with and flexible. Our daughters ages 5 and 7 feel so comfortable there - it has the perfect amount of runaround space outside. There is everything you need for cooking and entertaining. We always make lots of use of the beach supplies. It's amazing how private it feels yet so close to the beach and town action. Location can't be beat! We hope to stay again next year..."
