Great secluded get-away!
"We had a thoroughly enjoyable week at Backroads Bahama Villa. The house is large and accommodated us well with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We went to Little Harbor to meet up with friends that participated in the Regatta Time in Abaco. The house was the perfect spot for our group and provided those that had been living on the sailboat with an opportunity to get their toes on land, shower, sleep in a bedroom, do laundry, etc. I would describe the house as rustic (off the grid!) but very comfortable. The landscaping was beautiful. We are familiar with solar power, inverters and generators so it wasn't a challenge for us. All of the necessities were provided including kitchenware, towels, sheets, wifi, fans and such. Take the owner's advice and come prepared for the no see-ums and mosquitos and you'll have no issue. The caretaker was very helpful. Fantastic views from both the front and rear decks of the house and an elevated deck on a cliff that overlooks Little Harbor. It's an awesome location in a remote area where the biggest attraction is the crystal clear water! We snorkeled the many nearby reefs and blue holes seeing a lot of beautiful coral and sea life. And Pete's Pub - what a fantastic bar/restaurant serving excellent local food and, of course, plenty of fruity rum drinks! Pete's Gallery showcases some fabulous bronze work and we were lucky enough to be invited to visit the foundry to see a pouring. At the house, the large dining table, kitchen and grill was cause for celebration for many freshly prepared meals with our group. We truly had an amazing experience! I would recommend renting a car if you wish to visit other areas of the island such as Marsh Harbor and Cherokee Sound. It was also very cost effective to rent a van and provide our own transfers to and from the airport. We were lucky and had several boats there for our aquatic adventures! Super laid back and relaxing! It was fun being off the grid!"

"Lovely home in a sleepy village..perfect for visiting local Cathar ruins, enchanting villages and lovely countryside. The artistic decor and local fabrics were warm and comfotable.
I would definitely return...there is so much to discover in this area of the country."

"We booked the apartment for a week as well as the apartment next door as we were an extended family getting together from NZ and Canada but wished we had a few more days. The views are amazing; There is some construction noise nearby which I read about in other reviews but it is no problem. We were away most of each day anyway. Staying here it is a short (7 mins) walk to the Wailea Shops and there are eating places even closer. The lanai was perfect with its size and BBQ (and again the fab view) plus beach chairs. I'm sure we will be back!"

Perfect for everyone, exactly what we were looking for!
"We have rented all over ME for 15 summers; this is the 1st time we will be re-renting the same place - yes, it's that wonderful. Inside, there are 2 main floors (and 1 loft bedroom), to allow everyone to spread out and have privacy in the event of rain. We were inside only for sleep, though. Outside, there is a sandy beach space, dock with bench to watch the kids/dog, canoe/kayak/paddleboat to explore the lake, and HUGE deck to enjoy morning coffee and meals. There is a large fenced yard to give a little extra privacy and area for the dog/kids to play. Oh, AND, it's close to NH outlets, if you actually wanted to go shopping (we took our nieces to Storyland and the rest of the family had a relaxing day at the house in peace :) ). Like I said, perfect for everyone. The owner's son briefly stopped by on Sunday to make sure we didn't need anything (we didn't), until we blew a fuse later that day in the kitchen - he responded to our call within 30 min and we were all set!"
