"This 1 bdrm apartment is perfect for a couple. It is stocked with everything you need except a washer/dryer and that is almost a necessity. The incredible view from your private large porch complete with ceiling fans is unmatched. When you tire of the pure relaxation, you can be on the beach in less than five minutes. However, for the cleanest water and beach visit the north-end of the island. For other distractions check out the historical church square, water-front pub and grills, weekend open-air vendors, cemetary and kayaking. During our visit, there was a canopy zip line very near to completion on the northwest end of the island. We were very fortunate to meet expat island residents that guided our hikes to the 3 highest peaks on Taboga...El Morro, Mirador, and Careba Cruz. In addition, they led our hikes to Las Tres Cruces (the 3 crosses) and Balboa (the west side of the island). All of these adventures should be on your list, but DO NOT venture on your own. The trails are unmarked, overgrown and subject to slides and tides. In addition, knowing basic Spanish is HIGHLY recommended and be prepared to pay high prices in cash for almost practically everything during your stay. As far as boat tours, fishing or whale watching....very hard to come by. Our hosts were near-always available and did their best to accommodate any requests. Although we plan to revisit Taboga in the future as we made several new friends, a month proved a bit long."

  • Whales and Halibut

"We just rented this home for a small family reunion and halibut fishing trip for the guys. Great location, on the cliffs overlooking the bay, and although one street off the highway, we could not hear it at all! We saw many whales every day right from the living room, took a cool hike in the woods from the park near the marina and ate great meals at the Thai Bay and Tidal Raves. The open floor plan on the main floor worked well for us; the kitchen/dining room/living room all look out on the ocean, as does the living room space downstairs. The house is better than the photos. We'll be back!"

  • Old-School Charm

"I just love this house. It's got to be on one of the original plots in Laguna. Not the closest to the beach, but within walking distance and that is made up for by the breeze you get by being up towards the base of the mountain. Reminded me of the holidays I had as a child in the 1970s. Those seeking plasma TV, air conditioning, luxury linens will be happier elsewhere but those happy with beach, BBQ and lovely views will love it here. Already working on booking again for next summer."

  • Stylish, comfortable and perfect for families!!!

"I came across the Mod Lodge a few months back while scouting hundreds of potential properties in Colorado for our family vacation this summer. My family had never been to Frisco but I thought it would be a good place to spend a few days with our kids (4 and 6yrs) on the way back to Denver from Aspen. Wow, my husband and I were surprised at how wonderful Frisco is for hiking, biking, etc., but our favorite part was definitely the accommodations. The Mod Lodge had EVERYTHING we needed to feel at home and catch up on some much needed sleep in the super comfortable beds. The kids loved baking the homemade cookies, playing the video games on the XBOX, and the swimming in the pool. After weeks of eating out, it was such a relief to run to Whole Foods and prepare a healthy meal in the fully-stocked modern kitchen. We also bought steaks and wine and cooked on the outdoor propane grill while enjoying the view creek that runs behind the property. The pictures are accurate. The Mod Lodge is stylish and comfortable and the owners are responsive and thoughtful. There is a full binder on all things to do in Frisco, including tips on hikes. I HIGHLY recommend visiting Frisco and staying at the Mod Lodge!"
