"I highly recommend the Guest House on the river. Grandma (that's me!), Mom, teenage Grandson and family dog loved our stay. Hiking, panning for gold, bird watching, photography, and fabulous stargazing conditions kept us busy, and the wonderful accomodations were really a big plus. The cafe serves a great steak and the pie is super! No breakfast, though - and you will want to pack lunches to take out into the amazing countryside, so bring food. The big, comfy kitchen has everything you will need for storage and food preparation."

"My husband and I wanted to take our family on a trip to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and what better place than a summer hiking trip in the beautiful White Pine Canyons?! We've been to the Canyons once before in the winter, but this time instead of staying in the resort we wanted to rent out one of the houses on the mountain so that we could have better access to the trails. When we arrived to the house I was absolutely star struck. Not only was the house directly on the mountain overlooking the slopes, but it was equipped with everything you could possible dream of for an ideal vacation! I love the exposed wood all over the house (the housekeepers told us the house was built almost entirely of recycled wood, which is wonderful because I love giving my business to people who are environmentally conscious). The four upstairs bedrooms were perfect for our four older ones and the three kids loved the bunk room. Especially since it was right next to the game room and downstairs movie theater (perfect to get them out of our hair so we could spend some time alone in the gorgeous master suite). I'm glad we brought our swimsuits too because the hot tub in the back was perfect for winding down after our hikes. I also noticed that there are ski lifts right behind the house, which is probably great in the winter time! I would definitely consider bringing the kids back for a ski trip!! Overall, I am very impressed."

"Great location in an otherwise busy beach town. House had all the right things you need at the beach. Easy to work in the kitchen, good floor plan for hanging around. Quick warm heat. Super clean. Easy walk to quiet beach. Very good shape for an older home. Right house and right location."

"We recently spent a memorable weekend at this comfortable and spacious Black Butte home. We were entertaining family from overseas and wanted them to experience our beautiful central Oregon mountains. They were suitably impressed and our only complaint was that we should have had more time. We played our way through bike rides, swimming, tennis and hiking and regret not having time to enjoy the excellent golf course. We lazed over large family breakfasts, made in the well stocked kitchen and spent the evenings watching favorite movies in the comfortable living room. The bedrooms are spacious and inviting. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful, rustic yet comfortable home for a relaxing, memorable retreat."
