"We go to Smith Mountain Lake every year as a family; Grandparents, children and grandchildren. This was the perfect house for us. We really enjoyed the screened porch and swam and fished off the dock. The house was well maintained and well furnished. We also went striper fishing in the lake just out from the house and caught our lunch which was deliciously cooked on the grill.......yummy. The owners were very cordial and easy to work with. We will definitely consider coming back again."

"My husband and I hosted a family vacation at Villa Sol Blau. We had a wonderful time. Each room is very comfortable. With ten of us in the house, we never felt like we were on top of one another. The pool is perfect for cooling off when you're sunbathing on the patio. Alejandro was there for all of our needs...arranging transportation, receiving the golf cart and instructing us on all the home was equipped with during our stay. Laura made some fantastic appetizers the night the family arrived and kept the home clean and tidy during our stay. Its an easy walk to town, however, the road is a bit rough after you leave the subdivision."

"On a scale of 1-10, our family vacation at Sunrise Villa was a 12! It exceeded our expectations. Nineteen of us (our 5 children, their significant others, and 6 grandchildren ages 22-4) spent a week there to celebrate Bob's 70th birthday. The setting was spectacular; Bob and I slept in the Semana bungalow with the doors and windows open, falling asleep to the sound of the waves and awaking to the morning sun rising through the coconut palms. The privacy was complete, the only background noise the bird calls and ocean breeze. It was an amazing change from our previous resort vacations. We are spoiled! The staff were exceptional, totally devoted to our needs as a group. Chris, the manager, asked us daily, "What can I do for you?" He even made bank runs for us when we women bought more Lorimar jewelry than anticipated. Frank the chef smiled as he brought the four-year-old Fruit Loops and spaghetti noodles with Parmesan cheese at each meal (the only things he would eat), and did amazing things with chicken for the 3 people in the group who didn't eat fish. The rest of us appreciated his culinary skills with fresh caught fish and Caribbean lobster. Each meal was delicious. Sandy and her staff kept every room spotless throughout our stay, even those inhabited by teenagers, no easy feat. And bartender Ramon made us all fans of his rum drinks. Sitting in the hot tub sipping a Pina Colada - life doesn't get much better! The children greeted his arrival at 2 each afternoon with orders for smoothies and he never left until we were ready to retire for the night. Staff arranged a Meringue band for the birthday celebration and beach bon fire and provided us with a delicious lunch the day we traveled to another beach. They were the Caribbean equivalent of Downton Abbey! I was content to spend the days walking the beach, swimming in the pool, and relaxing on the grounds (no getting up early to reserve a beach chair!) but the others enjoyed the ping pong and pool tables, corn hole, and outdoor chess. Chris arranged massages on the cliff top and excursions for zip lining, horseback riding, and seeing monkeys and parrots. Everyone appreciated the free wifi, but as the week continued, the tablets and phones were only used for reading and photography. We unplugged willingly. The week at Sunrise Villa was an incredible experience for all 19 of us. We're already making plans to return."
