A unique Hawaiian gem
"Our family of 4 (including two teens) stayed for 5 nights. When we arrived we marveled at the beauty of the lawn and easy parking, and the sweet warm style of the Hale complete with music playing. Lani Kai has gotten VERY busy and this home is a joyful and calm place to watch the crazy go by! It's across from water access and just a few houses down from beach sand access. You can walk about 3 minutes the other way and enjoy Kailua beach and the tide pools. When you are there, take a cup of morning coffee (they left some for us in a welcome basket!) down to the water access to see the sunrise. The three bedrooms all had very comfortable beds. My son is a light sleeper and did have a tough time falling asleep in the back bunk room with the sounds of the family that lives there. They were not loud or doing anything wrong, he is just that way...so if you have one like that, you may want to consider having them sleep in the living room on the very comfy large sofa which is the size of a twin bed.
I was super curious to try out a washer/dryer combo! We had already been traveling for 4 days and definitely needed to do some laundry. I discovered that I don't care for how it works...so when you go, wash your clothes with it with the detergent they provide, and then use the wonderful clothes line tree outside. This will be the best way for you. There are clips and pins and your things will dry fresh and fast that way. :) The bathroom shower is a little tricky if you have bad knees or mobility issues so you may want to inquire if that's a problem for you.
The family welcomed us like old friends and we didn't want to leave to sightsee..that's how nice the experience was. My son played on that lawn so hard, I swear he put ruts in it. My daughter took several naps in the hammock. We discovered a delivery service that will bring you pretty much anything you want from any Kailua restaurant for about $7. This was quite a bonus for us to just order in one night and sit under the tree for dinner. It would be hard to find such a great venue to enjoy your meals. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed for our breakfast each day. I would not hesitate to book here again. It's special!"

"We had an amazing time at this property - gathering a family of 12 (5 kids ranging from 1 - 11 years old). It was clean and tidy and had a well stocked kitchen. Bedrooms were comfortable and thanks to the family spaces on both floors we never felt crowded, even on the one rainy day. We enjoyed the pontoon boat and rented kayaks from town and spent most of the week in the lake, and the docks and sandy entrance was perfect. It's a beautifully sited cottage - you're not aware of any other houses or neighbours - and it's also a convenient 10 minutes from the supermarket in town which is extremely well stocked. I would highly recommend this and can imagine that in the other seasons it's a gorgeous fall or winter retreat."

"Folly is a great area and this was a nice location.
Location in Folly. Need a golfcart if bringing a lot to beach, but close enough to walk without a lot of bags.
Neighborhood was quiet and had a nice playground.
Pool close (small though).
House was clean and spacious.
Owners were responsive.
Sheets were stained and we did not have enough (got new ones quickly from rental agency).
Did not have enough starter items (less than half a roll of toilet paper, ran out in a couple of bathrooms day 2, dish soap ).
Screen broke during a storm on porch and was not fixed. Too buggy for us to go out.
No dust pan to sweep.
Only one towel per person, not enough for an adult.
Lightbulbs burned out, not in house. (Realty company came to replace)
Not enough space in garage for two cars and two golf carts which which we had, and can not have any vehicles in driveway, Was a challenge to fit it all in.
Needs better kitchen items like scissors, frying pan, but it was ok."

"This was our fourth visit to Les Magnanarelles and our fifth to Lourmarin. We can't imagine a summer without our stay here - both house and village.
The newly decorated and improved house is better than ever, set in a beautiful and so-Provencal garden, and the pool is the best we have ever, ever found. The owner is unfailingly helpful and responsive, and intent on providing the best possible standard of accommodation and service for your stay.
Lourmarin is a lovely village, unchanging but always interesting, and nicely located for trips to nearby towns and villages, and further afield too”. David, Great Britain"
