Amazing location, great decor, perfect 'base' for our activities in Vancouver
"My husband and I were planning a trip with our 21 and 25 y o adult children. I chose The Modage based on a picture and not knowing anything about Vancouver. We scored!
Located on a beautiful street very close to the city and within walking distance of shopping and eateries on Broadway and the market on Granville Island, we were comfortable and it was easy to navigate Vancouver. We were able to do a LOT over the 2 days and 3 nights we were there. Location, location, location.
The home is decorated with great style and color and is minimalist, making it easier to care for and so much more serene than a place filled to the brim with 'stuff'. However, there is everything you need here to stay in and cook meals, as well as lots of travel information and a great resource next door, where the owner's sister lives. She is lovely and not intrusive at all, but very willing to assist with info if needed.
Beautiful and lush landscaping, everything in working order and the 4 of us slept comfortably, using the two bedrooms upstairs and the office downstairs, with a very comfortable daybed. Perfect for the ages of our children.
1) 49th Parallel on Fourth Avenue for the best latte around (although there is a Starbucks less than 2 blocks away as well)
2) 9th Avenue Grill on Broadway (9th Avenue)...also two blocks away....has a delicious and very fresh breakfast and even supplied gluten-free toast for this woman with celiac disease. Fantastic!
3) Also dined at Gramercy Grill, 2-3 blocks down our street and enjoyed eating pasta al fresco there.
5) Stanley Park
6) West Vancouver and a company called "Scenic Rush", which made it possible for my son and husband to drive a Ferrari and Audi 8R on the Sea to Sky Highway. They loved it and the owners are fantastic!
Highly recommend this property and owner. Very easy to work with. Really charming home architecturally and decor-wise.
We are typical Americans who are very accustomed to air-conditioning and hit Vancouver during an unseasonably warm weekend. The lack of air conditioning in the Pacific Northwest and BC was something I was unaware of and I probably would have packed different clothing to sleep in, had I noted that. But we lived through it and are no worse for the wear....we moved on to Whistler and there is no A/C here either, so it's just an adjustment for us as we hit the warmer summer months."

"We were able to spend a month at this great house, it had everything we wanted while trying to decide if we want to move the area. The owner was so accommodating and even offered to help us find a place on the canal if we wanted too.
The house was just steps away from the dock so it was easy to load up the fishing gear and head out to the inter coastal waterway. Couldn't ask for any more from a house and we felt very comfortable from the day we arrived.
We are planning to return this fall when hopefully the fishing will be better. We highly recommend this place for the as long as you can stay."

"We just returned from spending a week at this lovely condo. It is a beautifully furnished and decorated place. The owner has thought of everything when equipping this condo even down to additional bedding for extra visitors, toys, children's movies, a pack n play and other items for infants. The place was extremely clean and all appliances (including the TV) were very simple to operate. The lanai was lovely and very private with lots of bushes that hide the parking area. The beach is a short walk and was accessed through a very natural path, bridge over a lagoon and then a sandy path with protected dunes on either side. Cars are parked in a shaded area with protection from the elements and is well-maintained. The pool area is very nice with lots of chairs and restrooms. Check-in was very simple and the staff at the office were helpful and accommodating. The owner provided us with a lengthy list of things we might like to see and do, restaurants and local activities. The J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge was the jewel in the crown - a fabulous place to see local and migrant wildlife, well-structured, and so interesting. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and I would highly recommend staying at this condo when going to Sanibel Island."

"My five sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed staying I. This beautiful villa overlooking the Montaluce vineyard. We had everything we needed in the house, but we were close enough to also visit several other nearby attractions."
