Quote from June 2002 Better Homes and Gardens about Hunting Island: "Break away to a place where family time is laid-back and surfing still involves ocean waves instead of the Web."
This popular state park, located near historic Beaufort, is a 5000-acre secluded barrier island of semi-tropical beauty. With more than four miles of beach, a maritime forest, and extensive saltwater marsh, the island is also a retreat for people who love a natural coastal environment. An historic 19th-century lighthouse is Hunting Island's most popular landmark, where guests can climb to the top for a spectacular view of the coastline. The lighthouse and its complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A comfortable, five-bedroom, two bath, beachfront home with breezy ceiling fans, hardwood floors, and cool air conditioning. It also features a washer/dryer, an awesome updated "eat-in" kitchen with dishwasher, a large screened porch with four rocking chairs and a bench swing, a cozy family room, beach chairs, bicycles, and TV/VCR/cable. |
