Inside, outside and all around Seneca Sunrae there is double the fun and leisure opportunity. From dual boat lifts off a central party dock, the double kayaks and mountain bikes, and the pair of cozy chairs on the second story gazebo—this lakeside cottage is actually a year-round home with all the modern comforts and many commodities.
Upon entering Seneca Sunrae, you will be greeted by a warm and welcoming entry room featuring a unique collection of nearly 50 international bells that invites you to the stairway to the second floor. The main floor is immediately in front of you, while on your right is the newly remodeled first floor bedroom with a cozy, full-size mattress. Walk straight through the entry and pass through the fully equipped kitchen with Corian counters and the adjacent dining room with an expandable, multi-leaf oak table. The living room and the sunken breakfast nook provide spectacular views of Seneca Lake. Off the breakfast nook is the sunroom, which doubles as the puzzle/game room which provides a double size futon. (It is the owner’s favorite warm weather sleep space offering all the sweet sounds of summer, such as crickets and the cool night air intrinsic with camping - but without the camping part!) The newly renovated first floor bathroom features an Onyx shower stall with fun fixtures.
Upstairs, the master bedroom offers exquisite sunrises from the antique four-poster bed, along with a private deck offering even more spectacular views of Seneca Lake. The adjacent bathroom provides both a shower unit and Jacuzzi tub. The circular floorplan of the second story also features a bedroom with a double bed, a dual trundle bed in the loft area at the top of the stairs, and a 6’ x13’ walk-through dressing room.
Outside, two covered boat lifts bookend the central dock that offers plenty of bench seating. Dangle your feet in the water from the lower swim dock, and two kayaks await you on the 44’ stony beach with an adjacent mini beach house. Above, the two-story gazebo offers an incredible view of Seneca Lake from the top level, and houses a unique playroom below. Perfect place to sip wine. The dual mountain bikes are ready to ride especially with the eastern terminus of the Keuka Outlet Trail (a favorite Finger Lakes trail of many), less than a mile away in Dresden.
Like the sun, Seneca Sunrae is the "bulls eye" of the Finger Lakes! On the west side of Seneca Lake, it is 20 miles north of Watkins Glen and 20 miles south of Geneva and only 5 miles from Penn Yan. The tiny hamlet of Dresden offers a community park with a small beach area, tennis and basketball courts, a children’s playground, Mr. Twistee’s-in season, Miss Batavia Diner, the Dresden Hotel and the Robert Ingersol Museum…catch them open when you can! They are both worth the stop. Among the nearby attractions: the Windmill Farm and Craft Market, and dozens of great wineries, breweries, Amish shops and farmer’s markets. Come see and explore for yourself!
