This property enjoys an amazing location with its own beach. Glorious views, very well appointed and extremely comfortable. My husband and I stayed with our two adult sons and it fitted the bill perfectly .
Kyles 10miles weekend
Fantastic location, beautiful views. Excellent accommodation. Thank you Eileen and to Ian at Argyll self catering holidays.
A very nice house with a nice view
We really enjoyed the stay. The location right on the water is unique. The binoculars were a nice surprise - we could watch many animals on the water and on the opposite Island. The equipment of the house is very good. We felt at home.
We have recovered well, we would book the house again at any time.
Lovely and restful
We had a lovely 11 days here in July/August. It was peaceful and the view is hypnotic. We loved sitting outside watching the loch. The beds were comfortable and it is well equipped. The lounge seemed wider than I'd understood from the photos. The kitchen cupboards are full of ample crockery, cutlery, glasses, cookware, cafetière etc. The 2 bathrooms were useful and elderly parents appreciated the walk in shower upstairs.
We enjoyed being 100m from the Kames Hotel, where we had drinks and a meal.
We found plenty to occupy us and enjoyed various coffee shops in the area. Definitely a good place for gentle strolls, restful days and enjoying the view.
We have travelled all over the world and The Pierhouse has to be on of the most idyllic places we have ever stayed. The location and facilities were excellent. I only hope the owners continue to rent it out as we would love to return.
This fabulous drive takes you up the side of Loch Lomond, through the Arrochar Alps and over the world-famous Rest and Be Thankful. The final stretch winds along the coast with the Kyles of Bute stretching out ahead. There are some wonderful viewpoints dotted along this road. Take the A82 along Loch Lomond to Tarbet, then the A83 towards Inveraray and Campbeltown. At Cairndow, turn left on to the A815, then at Strachur turn right on to the A886, signposted Glendaruel and Colintraive. Just after Glendaruel turn right onto the A8003 towards Tighnabruaich. Once in Tighnabruaich follow signs for Kames and then to the Kyles Hotel. The house is below the hotel on the shore road.
Getting here by road and ferry
Another option is to get the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon and enjoy a drive through remote, mountainous country. The writer Iain Banks reckons it’s one of best wee roads in Scotland. You then pick up the same coastal road as above. Take the A8 to Gourock, then Western Ferries from McInroy’s Point to Hunter’s Quay near Dunoon. Turn right on to A815, then shortly after leaving the 40mph area, turn left on B836, a winding single track road with passing places. After about 17 miles, turn right on A886, then left on A8003 towards Tighnabruaich.
