About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)

Look no further! We invite you to stay at our home, located on a large quiet Lake which is one of a four lake chain totaling over 1900 acres.

This property has woods on either side to ensure your privacy. The spacious yard is the perfect place for the kids to run and play or to unwind and relax in the hammock. The pier, with bench, juts out over the sandy bottom beach, where big and little fisherman alike will have fun catching a variety of fish, or take the rowboat out and try your luck elsewhere. The chain contains bluegill, sunfish, perch, crappie, small and large mouth bass, walleye, northern, and muskie.

This 2000 square feet home is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, which has some of the best ATV and snowmobile trails the northwoods has to offer. Both can be done right out of the large driveway! The forest also has many trails for hiking and biking. If you cross-country ski, there are many nearby trails or you can head out and tour the lake(s) and check out the islands.

For your indoor enjoyment, have fun challenging each other on the 7 foot game table, which includes pool, ping-pong and air hockey. A selection of DVD movies are provided that the kids and adults will enjoy watching together.

The screened sunroom, flanked by two new balconies, is the most popular spot in the house. Meals and hours of card games have been enjoyed there.

In the evening, gather around the large lakeside campfire ring for s'mores, star gazing and great conversation.

Why The Owner chose Northwest

It's away from the hustle and bustle of Minocqua which means peaceful and quiet surroundings with beautiful views of the lake, islands and the thick forested backdrop of the opposite shore.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We had a great time at your cottage the week of 7/18. Everything was just as we expected and as described in VRBO ad. The lake was great, nice and quiet compared to Round Lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat which we used often. The cottage was comfortable; our two girls loved the lower level with games/movies/etc. The weather was a little cool and but we all skied -- some of us even wore a dry suit! We had two fawns visit us several times near the driveway; we loved all the wildlife – ducks, loons, etc."

Fantastic Lake View

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying at your lake house! The lake view was beautiful from the large windows in the house. Very private location and lake was never too busy. We unfortunately did not catch many fish. House was nice, but could use a few updates ( especially the bathrooms) and would be nice if it had a professional cleaning occasionally between tenants.

Relaxing Vacation for 2 Families with Busy kids

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin to get away from it all. The owners are easy to work with and are very organized. Stayed for a week with four adults and 5 children ages 12-6. This cabin is great for the adults to have "their space" and the kids were able to have "kid space" in the finished basement.

The view is great when you walk right into the cabin. The screened porch was a perfect location to play card games or enjoy a morning coffee or evening cocktail. The swing by the lake and the bench on the dock are great too for morning coffee. The game table downstairs is perfect and our kids had a blast playing Air Hockey. There was also an "old school" game system that plugged into the downstairs tv that was a blast from the past. Fun things to do inside when the weather isn't so perfect.

We spent hours swimming and fishing. The fishing was slow but we did manage to cook a walleye over the fire pit one evening. There are plenty of life jackets for children, 2 kayaks, a rowboat, paddleboat and canoe...many people can be out on the water at one time. We also used the bikes which are in the garage and that was a nice bonus.

If there is anything you think a cabin should have...it's already onsite at the cabin. We over packed and were pleased with how well the cabin was stocked. There was plenty of firewood on hand, charcoal for the grill etc. etc.

Clean up was easy as well. The dump is located down the road and had decent hours. We woke up early on our day out and washed the bedding and kitchen towels etc. It really wasn't bad to tidy up after our week. Again, the owners have everything on hand to make cleanup a breeze.

Really, really great place. We were so happy to vacation in the Northwoods and enjoyed our week away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would definitely rent this cabin again. Perfect North Woods getaway.

Family Stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time. WE had the whole family up staying here and idle hour for the spreading of my father in law's ashes. The kids were able to go out with their families or do their own things. The weather was not the best as we able to have family from Idle Hour come over and get out of the rain and dine all together. There was plenty for all to do some kayaked, paddle boated, or just hung out. WE rented a pontoon boat from Good nuf per Todd''s recommendation and they also were great! All and all a good time. Thanks!

GREAT HOME - SPECTACULAR VIEWS

  • 5 of 5

Despite the crazy weather, winds and high water level we were able to have a great, relaxing time. Plenty to do inside and out.

The guys were able to land 2 musky and had several follows, one jumping out of the water right next to the boat. Lots of babies this time of year - deer, geese, ducks, loon. We saw a baby loon on mother's back - first time for me. It was fun to tour all four lakes. The girls were able to kayak 3 times.

The home is comfortable and very well stocked. Views from bedroom, porch and living room are beautiful.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family.

Snowmobiling Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this place! We went up for a couples weekend to go snowmobiling. The home is located right by the trails. We love the fact that it was easy to get to and had room enough to park the trailer in the driveway. The home was very comfy and had plenty of personal touches. Love the fact that there is a pool table, ping pong table and if I remember correctly air hockey. Plenty for us to do and a great place for families also. We are thinking our kids would love it here! Northern Aire is right down the road and a great place to have a Friday fish fry or get there early Saturday night for their awesome steak sandwiches.

The owners are so very helpful and really try to make sure that you have a great time up there. They even sent us an old snowmobile map and gave us info on where to check for more trails. I loved the fact that they also sent us a link on what was going on the weekend we went up there. Thank you for sharing your home with us, it was an amazing trip filled with great memories with great friends. We look forward to coming up again.

Great place, great lake view

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying at this cabin. First time was during thanksgiving break 2016. We had great time during our stay. Then we came back again 2 months after. The lake view even more beautiful. Saw deers from side of the cabin every morning, people snow mobilling on frozen lake. You can just see everything from sitting at family room.

The kitchen's cabin are fully stocked, plenty rooms to stay with the whole family and the owner very nice, flexible about checking in and out, easy communication

We would like to comeback at another season.
