Great location and wonderful apartment
We stayed 4 nights in this apartment. It is in a great location near Piazza Navona. There were 3 of us and we all enjoyed it very much. It is on the ground floor of a building on a very nice street. We would definitely stay there again.
Thank you very much Ginger!
I am so happy you had a great time in Rome!
loved it! Will use again!
Spent 10 days here with my wife and 2 sons. Great location for walking Rome. Convenient. 20 minute walk to Vatican. 30 minute walk to Colossium, 5 minutes walk to pantheon, surrounded by amazing restaurants, beautiful streets, but away from the street hustlers you find in the touristy areas. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Really clean. No bugs. Hot water all day, awesome heater source. Not a hotel, which is a plus. You really feel like you are living in Rome. That was a big part of making this trip unique and amazing. Shower is small but was comfortable. My son is 6.4ft and it worked well for him but if you are 300 lbs this may be uncomfortable. Just an honest heads up to this regard. It’s Rome! Real estate is small but this place definitely made it feel like we had space. Can not wait to come back to Rome and stay at 28 Via de coronari.
Not great, but not bad
First the good stuff;
Fantastic Location - Ground floor apartment, in ancient narrow alleyway near Piazza Navona with dozens of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops within a 100m radius.
Good Sized Apartment with Bedroom, lounge area and kitchen equipped with Cooktop, Microwave, Dishwasher and Washing Machine - no coffee machine, but you're in Rome which has the best coffee in the world. Step outside your door and immediately walk into a cafe and grab a coffee for $1 Euro.
Other amenities include, Iron, hairdryer, central heating and good Wifi.
The Not so Good Stuff
The bed is a good size (it's not the one pictured), but the mattress is thin and old, but still reasonably comfortable. Sheets are extremely thin and the thin mattress doesn't hold them. Pillows provided were very hard lumps of foam (I ended up using one of the cushions from the lounge).
The shower was extremely small (not unusual in Europe) and didn't drain very well (once again not unusual for Europe) so you end up with a little pool at your feet.
Shower head was broken, so spat some water in all sorts of directions, but most just dribbled out.
Washing machine didn't work properly, worked for about 10 mins and then froze - they got someone out to have a look at it and told us there was nothing wrong with it. We just ran it through a wash 3 or 4 times, so it got the job done.
The people who ran the apartment were very friendly and were easily contacted if needed.
Summary - Good sized apartment in great area, let down by a couple of things that could have easily been improved with a small investment in a new bed, bed linen and showerhead. There's better apartments in the area for the same money.
Great location, challenges in other aspects
Construction was being done on the building right outside window, but mostly during the day when we were out. The 4-story scaffolding was brushed away with a casual "I thought these guys were done.,” statement during our intro to the place.
Good thing we are both engineers or we might not have had hot water for our first night. We found the hot water heater switch and turned it on. I don’t know why it was off.
The noise from the AC water running into the metal bucket under it woke me up one or two nights.
The photos are definitely staged. Many items shown are not included like the mirrors. Our bed had a metal head and foot board – meaning you can only sit on the sides of the bed. The kitchen chairs are not the same.
We asked the host for the address a couple times but they wouldn’t provide it until we gave them our exact arrival time. We didn’t know how to give an arrival time to a place we didn’t know the location of.
When we got there, it was made very clear that “This is a condo, not a hotel room.” They said they would be within an hour’s reach, which was fine until we told them we’d run out of toilet paper and were told to go get our own.
None of these are big deals on their own, but you can see how they add up.
All-in-all the location is awesome, the building is beautiful, I would stay here again (if the construction is finished), but I would weigh these things against all of the other VRBO options that we had.
I do not know why you write all these ugly things:
1) At check in we showed you the hot water button in the bathroom, maybe in the chek you were not very attentive.
2) did the air conditioning water drops not let you sleep? it seems to me really impossible and exaggerated.
3) The home address is on the booking confirmation we sent as soon as you made the reservation. Do you not read, what can I do ??
Fortunately, travelers can understand for themselves what kind of person you are.
4) work in the condominium does not depend on us, however they are over.
5) last thing , about the chair not same on the picture ; we can't make a new book everytime that we change something .
The apartment is perfect .
We loved staying at this fun apartment. We used the recommended car service from the airport to the apartment and are glad we did. It was so carefree to pick up our luggage and then see someone waiting for us to take us directly to the property. Daniele met us there and was delightful. He gave us a tour of the apartment and made sure we knew how to contact him if we needed anything. The location of the apartment was great; close to the Piazza Navona but not right on top of it. The furnishings were fun and comfortable.
The only downsides were the noise from the air-conditioner and the water/condensation that ran from it into a decorative bucket. But, the air-conditioner worked beautifully and kept the apartment nice and refreshingly cool so that wasn't a big issue. The only other downside was that there was no soap provided for the sink and shower. I'm sure this was just an oversight and we could've called Daniele to request some, but we just grabbed a bar at the store.
Overall, we give this a two thumbs up review! Loved it and loved spending time in beautiful Rome.
Nice apartment in a central location
I was in Rome again for job reasons in September and I decided to bet on this apartment that looked very nice from the pictures...and it was! The location is great, just right around Piazza Navona and I basically walked to everywhere. I was very pleased with the communication from the people who managed this property. When I arrived two persons were waiting for me and they showed the apartment and answered all my questions. The apartment was clean spacious, the bed was comfortable. Wonderful stay in an advsntsgeous apartment.
