We had a wonderful time at the cottage!! We stayed here for 5 days while our daughter roomed in Waikiki with her middle school band trip, and it couldn't have been more perfect for us. We were close to many wonderful running and hiking trails, we could hop into the ocean from the neighborhood pier or access the beach from two nearby parks, and then could easily drive to Waikiki and downtown to see the band concerts and go out to wonderful meals at some of Honolulu's fantastic restaurants. Also, relaxing by the pool in the backyard was lovely! We loved turning on the little backyard lantern lights in the evenings, as well. (At our home in Alaska, it's never dark when it's warm enough to sit outside, so that was fun!) The grocery store in easy walking distance was really convenient, as well! Thanks so much, Pam and Jason, for your fantastic recommendations for coffee (The Curb Kaimuki), dinners (our faves: The Pig & the Lady, Mud Hen Water, and Mahina & Suns), and hikes (Wiliwilinui Ridge, Kuli'ou'ou, and Makapuu)! We loved everything about our stay. THANK YOU!!
Favorite place on O’ahu
The cottage is a perfect little gem, and the hosts, Pamela and Jason, couldn’t have been more gracious, easygoing, or lovely. The place is quiet, private, and elegantly appointed with an incredibly comfy bed, and a huge, beautiful bathroom. We mostly ate tapas at home, but we were able to easily prepare a “serious” meal on the large gas grill next to the cottage the one night we were feeling ambitious. The Adirondack chairs out front are the perfect place to chill with a morning coffee (or, evening whiskey) and watch the weather move across the Koʻolau’s. And, the Wailupe Peninsula private pier (a two minute walk away) is magical, with wrap around views of the ocean, wooden benches, and ladder down to the water. I have been to O’ahu many times for work, and pleasure, and this is by far the best place I have stayed. Can’t wait to come back! Wish I was there right now.
Wonderful Private cottage in a charming neighborhood!
Our first time in Oahu and could not be more pleased with this cottage! Not knowing any areas in Oahu we decided on this cottage as we were looking for a quiet non-hotel/condo experience. We loved that this cottage is out of the busy tourist parts of Honolulu but yet such a short drive when we did want to go downtown. Our hosts were so welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything to let them know. This place was clean clean clean! They were also great at recommending things like hiking spots, beaches, & restaurants. This is a smaller cottage with a FANTASTIC sized bathroom. Grocery store and plenty of food choices within 2 min drive! We couldn’t have been more happy with our stay! Thank you Pam and Jason!
Great location midway between Diamondhead and Koko Crater. Very quiet. Beautiful lawn and private pool. Access to ocean pier great for sunsets. Pam did wonderful job of making us feel comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed. Cottage well equipped, cable TV, spacious shower, small fridge, quiet but effective air conditioning. Would stay again if get the chance.
Great little Cottage in a wonderful neighborhood
We recently spent four nights in Pamela's cottage and found it perfect for a couple. Most of our time was spent with family who have lived in the neighborhood for years so we're very familiar with the area. The location is great if you're looking for a quiet spot still within a short driving distance to area attractions.
The Cottage is very thoughtfully designed and furnished and equipped with almost every amenity one would need. We chose this spot because proximity to my sister's home but we'd stay again even if it weren't. Pamela was very responsive and welcoming and we look forward to seeing her and her young family again. Thank you for our visit...
Our relaxing vacation cottage stay.
My girlfriend and I, trying to escape the wildfire smokiness of Washington state, booked a last-minute trip to Oahu. We used a service other than VRBO (for the first time) to book a Waikiki condo, but the owner cancelled on me 30 minutes before we left for the airport! When we arrived in Oahu, my girlfriend and I scrambled to find a place and came across Pamela’s cottage. I sent Pamela an email and she replied quickly. She took time out of her afternoon to head home and get everything ready for us so we could show up that evening. Yes, Pamela is awesome.
Pamela’s home was easy to find and in a great, quiet location only about 15 minutes from Waikiki. Street parking in front of the house was always available. The neighborhood pier is about a 5 minute walk away and it was fun meeting other neighbors who were all very friendly. Everything you could need or want to do is easily within a 30 minute or less drive; grocery store, restaurant, hikes, or beaches.
The cottage is perfectly sized for two adults with a large, comfy bed, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. My laptop had no problems connecting to the internet. There is some storage space for clothes, etc. and baskets for your shoes at the foot of the bed. Also, the bathroom has more space for hanging clothes. The counter in the bathroom was large which allowed us to keep all our toiletries laid out. I enjoyed the large shower. Plenty of towels (beach and shower) were provided along with lotion, shampoo, etc. The air conditioner quickly cools down the whole cottage.
We had the entire backyard and pool to ourselves for the entire week. Lounging outside, we had coffee in the mornings watching green and brown anoles run around eating insects, and beers in the evening looking over our pics from the day. We sunned ourselves on the nearby beaches and lounged in the pool when we were too lazy to leave the cottage. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood loop several times every night and looking up to see the Milky Way. Pamela joined us on one of the evenings in the backyard sharing family stories and laughing it up while sharing a salted caramel stout. She helped us pick out a couple of hikes from one of the books she provides in the cottage. Fun night!
Pamela was always responsive to my texts and only checked in every now and then to make sure we had everything we needed. She was a wonderful host and we appreciate her opening her home to us. We highly recommend staying with Pamela. 5 stars, for sure!
