One of the few new "Lakefront" houses on California's largest lake, you will enjoy clear views of the lake's Sacramento Arm from both the house and the deck. Enjoy the convenient access to the 2 boat ramps and Sugarloaf Marina (floating store and gas station).

This home has easy access and parking for cars, boats and trailers. The spacious 2 story home has room for everyone and is equipped for families. Enjoy the gourmet kitchen complete with granite counters, Viking stove and double oven to cook for those large groups. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs (including the master with an en-suite bathroom) and 1 bedroom and loft area upstairs. Besides the luxury bathroom attached to the master suite, there is a bathroom both downstairs and upstairs with easy access for everyone.

This is not simply a "rental house" - this is a family home. We treat it as such and when you arrive, you will see the difference. The cabinets are stocked with nice dishes (not mis-matched left overs). The beds are comfortable, high quality beds. You will enjoy all the creature comforts that we want to enjoy when we stay there as well - Wireless Internet Access, Comfortable Temperature Control, etc...

Why Marc Lariz chose Lakehead

Having both been raised as children boating and vacationing on Shasta Lake, we knew that we wanted to have our own place to go when the time was right. When our 1st house burnt down, it provided us the opportunity to design this home to our personal taste. We love this house and hope that everyone who visits treasures it as well.

What makes this house unique

This house has one of the best locations available on Shasta Lake. It is right next to the water, as close as you can get (depending on water levels of course). It is very private and quiet, giving visitors the peace that many of them are looking for. However, it is still very easy to get to, easy to park boats/trailer at and has very quick access to boat ramps. Whats more, it is close to dirt trails for motorcycle riding, near I-5 for quick access to Redding, CA and has convenient store access less than 2 miles away. Having been all around Shasta Lake, I can tell you that you will not beat this location.

  • The bathroom connected to the downstairs bedroom #2 has a dividing sliding door that provides access to the toilet from the main public area and privacy to the shower and sink from the bedroom. Both downstairs bathrooms have beautiful glass showers that look great, but will require the renter to squeegee them after each use (2 to 3 minutes tops).

  • Each bedroom has 1 queen bed and the upstairs bedroom has an additional twin bed as well. Each of the 3 bedroom has bathroom next to it. The master downstairs has an en-suite bathroom (no wall between the bedroom and shower though) and the other 2 bathrooms are located next to the remaining bedrooms.

Unforgettable lake views, fully updated, large home that easily houses 11 adults.

The entire family thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautiful house. The entire, lake facing, wall is windows with breathtaking lake views. Power window shades made it easy to block the sun in the morning. We used the full deck daily. It's a very short, level walk to the lake shore. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost for the week as it was comparable to other houses we stayed in that paled in comparison. We tied our boat at the shore behind the house and had no problems at all with it. We'd highly recommend this house to a family looking to enjoy some lake time together.

Very nice home, comfortable, close to the water, easy to access.

No water is a problem for a home of this quality. Not telling the vacation crew that there is a bear problem when the garbage is out or a cooler is left on the porch is not right. The garage needs to be accessible for garbage and to store empty coolers etc.. We missed the info on the bar b, it is not propane and should be. The kitchen has everything but lacks a coffee maker. Fix the ecoli problem or we will not rent again.

Owner's Response: I understand the review and I thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. *I wish I could fix the E-coli water problem - If I could, it would already be fixed. The problem affects the entire community of Lakehead, not just our house. They estimate that the permanent solution should be completed by September of this year (less than 1 month from now). *Thank you for the recommendation about the coffee machine. We will purchase one for the kitchen & bring on our next trip up. *Bears are a new problem at the house, sorry I could not give more warning about it. I have added notes about it to our listing. We are hoping to get a garbage enclosure added near the street for everyone's convenience (garage access is not a possibility). *I guess that the BBQ is a personal preference thing. I had a propane one at our last home and got complaints that it should be charcoal. I am sorry that you missed the notes on it.

Awesome Time

This house was beautiful, well maintained, awesome location, and better than any 5 star luxury hotel I have ever stayed in.

There were 5 teenage children with us and they were never board which says alot!!

The owner Marc was very communicative and answered any questions I had.

We will most definitely be going back next year!!!

Great Location, Peaceful.

We stayed for 5 nights and could have stayed longer. The location is perfect at the end of a residential street. The house is beautiful. There is a bit of noise from the Sugarloaf Cottages, which may have bothered some. The owners made our stay great even in light of the impending water issue (something out of their control) and unseasonable heat (109+ degrees). The air conditioning in the house kept it quite comfortable, but the exterior grounds (deck, fire-pit, etc.) were not used, other than the path to the lake [watch for rattle snakes!]

Marc was very accommodating, and made himself readily available. Internet connection was convenient, but cell coverage is non-existent--a thing that became more appreciable over time!

There are some rules to the house that may put others off, but are completely understandable when an owner cares for their home. For example, being asked to wipe down glass in the showers is not something that can be appreciated until you have tried to remove hard water stains from glass shower enclosures (we understand because we have these at home too) but to others it may not be appreciated.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER RENTAL VACATION HOME ON A LAKE! It is clear that the owners stay here and are sharing their experience with others! It is also clear that this house was built and furnished for many years of future use with high end fixtures and finishes not found in other rentals. The house was impeccably straight, the linens laundered, and the dishes clean, but some parts of the house are still being finished. There are a few things that could make the stay a bit easier, such as a washer and dryer or laundry room (we thought that they were onsite--probably our confusion, but a Laundromat is right down the road and owners say this is forthcoming), and / or some form of beach towels for the beach (understandably bath towels should not be taken outside).

Finally, we felt so safe, secure and comfortable that we left mooring tie-ups / anchors for our wave-runners on the beach when we were riding the wave-runners. The ropes for the moorings were removed by someone. I guess that is more of a testament to the nature of others than it is a testament to the peacefulness of the property, but come to think of it we would have never left them like we did on any other lake! I guess what the owners have created is a place to allow you to truly relax and be on vacation.

We look forward to coming back.

***WATER QUALITY UPDATE***
We were recently notified that our entire community, which is serviced by a spring/well tested above the "safe" level for e-coli bacteria. In other words, they are recommending that you do not drink the tap water and that you boil any water for cooking. The water is considered safe for washing and bathing, but not for human consumption prior to boiling. They are in the process of repairing the problem, but it is estimated that the repairs will not be completed until the end of the Summer 2017.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
