This Four Seasons vacation house is ideally located in Lake Almanor West, just across the street from the private boat ramp. One of the beaches is a very short walk from the house. The 1900 square foot home features a custom design master bedroom has a California king-size bed and a sofa-bed, walk-in closet, sitting area, wood fireplace and Jacuzzi bathtub. Second bedroom has a futon bunk; with a full-size bed below and a twin above. The living room has a queen sofa bed.
The living room gives the sense of openness, but still the cozy feeling with its wood burning stove and the large corner windows. Whether you play cards, board games, work on puzzles, read, watch TV or just like to visit, this wonderful area will provide countless hours of entertainment. Most importantly, it will seat the whole family plus your friends. For those competitive personalities, we have a horse shoe pit on the premises. Our Homeowner's Association offers free use of the beaches, tennis courts, and the recreation area. Beginning January 2014 a window sticker will be issued to gain access to launch your watercraft. The owners will provide the sticker if one is requested. The recreation area is a mile away in a park-like setting with a swim beach, swings and jungle equipment, basketball, horseshoes, barbecues, etc. Grab those bikes (or car) and head on down for a fun day.
Our guests can tee-off on a nine-hole golf course at a very reasonable price. Stop and enjoy a meal or drink at the Country Club. During sunset, you won’t want to miss the deer grazing on the greens. Bike, walk, or jog along the scenic lake and forest edge on the 9.7 mile Lake Almanor Recreational Trail. Yes, it is just out our backdoor. Depending on the season you can ride motorcycles ATCs, four-wheeling, snowmobiles, or cross-country skiing in the national forest adjacent to the trail. You fishermen will want to test your skills fishing in the unlimited lakes, rivers and streams nearby. Shoppers will have to browse the quaint town of Chester. Here you will find unique gift shops, galleries and restaurants. Don’t forget to indulge yourself with a banana split at the old fashion soda fountain located inside Lassen Gift Company. Approximately 30 minutes away is the Mount Lassen Volcanic National Park. Many wonderful sights await you there. Visit the treasures of the hydrothermal activities and see the breathtaking views of the Lake Almanor Basin.
So much to do, and not enough vacation time. Relax and enjoy our home.
Our primary home is located in the San Jose, Ca. Mario is a retired Fire Captain for San Jose Fire Department and Linda is a retired dental hygienist. We have three children.
Mario Busalacchi purchased this house in 2001
We were introduced to this area in the 1980's from another fire captain who had a lake front property here. We would camp out in the meadow by Butte Creek and haul our boat over to the lake. The kids loved playing the creek, building dams that never held, watching the cows graze by, listening to the deer at night and looking at the stars by the campfire while making smores. We fell in LOVE with the lake and the mountains. The serene quietness at night was so welcoming. No big crowds, like in Lake Tahoe. And you can even go swimming in the lake and enjoy it!
Like most families we would always take the dogs. That is why we welcome our home as a pet friendly home. Every morning and evening Mario will walk the dogs down the the lake for a swim. Our evenings are spent sitting on the patio under the stars. But not with the smores anymore, but with a glass of wine or a shot of Jack. We know you will enjoy this beautiful location close to the water.
Our family of 6 had a great time at Mario & Linda's home away from home. The house contained everything you could need, we really enjoyed the large front deck and of course the boat launch area right across the street. We had our young grand-daughter there too and she loved the playground about a mile away. We were all very comfortable and would definitely book the place again, probably not at the end of June as there was a large bug hatch and the fishing was lousy, they were full. Lassen National park was awesome and worth the trip too. Thanks Mario for making things easy with no hassles.
This house was perfect for our family of 4. Very cozy and everything you could possibly need. Big plus was the outdoor area for the dogs. Loved everything about it and we can't wait to go back!!!
We were very happy with our accommodations in this home. It was great that we were very close to the boat launch and it was a very short drive to most places for water recreations. We were very relaxed and comfortable. Nothing was fancy but it was clean and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Kitchen was well stocked. We were unable to use the dishwasher but they were right on it to get it fixed and ready for the next group coming in. It was nice to see all the emergency numbers for anything we needed and well explained directions for ways to take care of certain things for them. All we needed was food, sheets and towels! I brought way too much stuff especially for the kitchen. We brought our own detergent and fabric softener but that was provided as well! Our dog was able to come and she was very happy to have a lawn (that we cleaned up ) and she had fun being able to go swimming every day. We had more than enough room. I would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you so much!
This home is absolutely perfect for restful, peaceful, homey vacation experience. The home itself just gives off "comfy, welcoming" vibes. Everything you need to make your stay easy and carefree is available at this vacation paradise. Lake Almanor itself is a no-brainer for the outdoorsy couple or family that just wants time to get away and an ambience that beckons people to spend "quality" time together. I cannot give enough accolades to the owners who have put much time and effort into making this a perfect vacation getaway. Everything about this house screams "come and relax and enjoy" Close to the water, close to cozy, yummy restaurants, close to a grreat 9 hole golf course, and enough movies in the house to appease any teen or youth who wants to just couch potato it for the evening. Wi-fi available, and a beautiful outdoor deck that was perfect for bar-b-quing and roasting marshmallows by the gas fire pit. Everything, everything, everything was absolutely perfect. The owners are wonderful. We are hoping to make this an annual vacation stop it was soooo wonderful!!
And our well behaved Golden Retriever played so hard at the Lake for 5 days, that he needs another vacation to rest up!! Thank you for a most memorable, absolutely perfect time!
This is the strangest home I have ever been in. We thought there was an entire part of the house we were missing when we first walked in. There is one shower and a very odd bathroom attached to the master bedroom with a sunken tub surrounded by carpet. Once you get past the families 1980's high school sports shrine and the endless hallway of cabinets (seriously, how many do you need?) you find yourself in the kitchen full of half eaten loaves of bread and a crusty Jenn-Air cook top. Needless to say we did not cook a single meal in the kitchen or on the outdoor BBQ, I hesitated to even brew a pot of coffee. Was this place even cleaned between stays? We found/killed several spiders during our stay and even got a surprise little treat behind the couch in the "piano room", a previous guests dirty underwear. The only saving grace was the proximity to the boat ramp.
My husband and I needed a little break from the rat race. We stayed in this lovely home for 4 nights. It was everything as advertised and then some. From a well stocked kitchen to the great deck for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of nature. Plus the owners were responsive to our many questions about the area.
We will definitely return whenever we get the chance.
Motorcycle, ATV and off road vehicles can use open forest trails
