Spectacular home and grounds, a place we will never forget
Our family vacation at Torre di Sopra was truly memorable, even better than I anticipated—and thanks I believe to the incredible structure and stunning grounds of the Torre- its ancient edifice and grounds overlooking the hills of Tuscany working their magic. As a large family unit, we relaxed in a way I don’t think we ever have before, we enjoyed one another, we enjoyed the solace that the magnificent grounds can afford even a large group, we loved and utilized the beautiful vegetable garden, the gracious and multiple courtyards with their large dining tables. We RELAXED! As my surgeon son said upon his return home, “it made us assess how we use time as a family.” We were both close enough to Florence to make it easy to get to and yet far enough away to enjoy the country, close to wonderful shopping and restaurants. Thank you Camilla and Tom for allowing us to utilize your home. We will never forget the magic of the Torre.
An historic retreat with beautiful views of Tuscany
We had a very enjoyable stay in the cottage, which is attached to the historic watchtower. Surrounded by lovely gardens and an olive grove, the property is in an excellent location - close to Florence and other places of interest, such as Siena. If you want to relax at the property, there's a great, new pool, though we didn't get a chance to try it out because the weather was unsettled during our stay. Jane, whose family owns the property, was on site and was very welcoming but discreet. She was also kind enough to give us a tour of the fascinating watchtower, and we hope to visit again.
Torre Di Sopra- a little gem
What a lovely little gem of a place, very close to Florence with easy access by car and bus. We stayed in La Casina, and was very comfortable with all amenities. Sitting outside on the lovely couch with big pillows, sipping a glass of wine watching the Tuscan sunset over the olive grove and hills was breathtaking. Nearby village of Antella has wonderful coffee at Jolly Cafe.Highly recommend this lovely place
We stayed here for 6 nights (Husband, Wife and two teenagers) and used it as our home base for exploring Tuscany. It was perfect! Historic Buildings. Beautiful Gardens. Easy Access to Public Transport. Sweeping Views. Gracious Hosts. Fully Equipped Kitchen. Quaint Towns. We spent two days in Florence, one day in Pisa, one day in Maranello (Ferrari factory and museum - 17 year old son) and two days exploring the local area. Home cooked dinners using veges and herbs from the gardens on the grounds. Wine on the terrace area at sunset. It was a great way to immerse ourselves into the Tuscan lifestyle. I would highly recommend this property. Thanks for being a part of our incredible trip to Italy.
An ideal Tuscan vacation
Our stay at La Casina was absolutely wonderful!
Watching the sunset over the Tuscan hills from the loggia with a glass of wine was priceless! The accommodations were delightful and perfectly suited our family of four. The caretaker was very helpful upon our arrival providing us with essential provisions including fresh tomatoes, potatoes and basil from the garden and giving us directions to the surrounding area. La Casina made a lovely home base to return to after tiring yet enjoyable day trips throughout Tuscany.
The welcome we had from the housekeeper was hart warming. We had a wonderful time here.
The location is just 10 min outside of Florence, therefore you can relax around the house to see the sun set over Florence. Around the house are enough chairs and tables. We enjoyed the breakfast outside en the sunset.
In short this place is ideal for relaxation.
Ideally placed for visiting Florence as well as the rest of Tuscany, Siena, Arezzo, Pisa and Lucca, 30 minutes from Greve and San Gimignano.
