My name is Jed Stout. I grew up in southern Utah and just love this place! I live just a few miles from this home. I love to hike and mountain bike. I'm happy to answer questions about local trails and activities so please call me during your stay if you'd like ideas.
Jed purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Jed chose Hurricane
My wife and I fell in love with this little home in the year 2003 when we were shopping for our own first home. We weren't able to get it at that time but when it became available in 2005 we didn't hesitate to purchase it. We rented it out for 12 years but with this new remodel finished, we wanted to offer it to vacation renters visiting the area. This home has the perfect blend of old historic features with new remodeled cleanliness.
What makes this Cottage unique
The very old history of this cottage makes it a lot of fun. It's a great little honeymoon getaway or an easy place to relax for hikers and bikers visiting the area for the first time.

Loved this cabin. It was cute, super comfortable for two, and a perfect place to relax after hiking.
Zion park trip
The property was perfect for the two us. Very clean and cozy and an easy drive to get to Zion National Park. Kitchen was very well stocked including many condiments in the refrigerator.
Nice comfortable place to stay
We primarily stayed here to hike Zion which was a short drive, but ended up hiking some at Snow Canyon state park as well. I would definitely stay here again. There is a really nice place on the porch to have coffee and to plan the days events.
Ideal base camp for adventures
We found this 5 star listing on VRBO and it did not disappoint. The cabin is as advertised-cute and cozy. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the neighborhood was surrounding the cabin. We were comfortable there our entire stay.
Homey touches we loved: being able to watch the birds at the feeders on the deck and being able to access Netflix after a long day of hiking.
The cabin is in an excellent location, with Zion only 20 miles away. Although we were not able to ride any of the trails Jed suggested, he was quick to share suggestions and respond to questions.
We enjoyed River Rock Roasting Company for coffee and light breakfast and Stage Coach Grill for more hearty meals.
Great little cabin
The cabin was very clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything you needed. The drive to Zion National Park was enjoyable.
Thanks for letting us enjoy the ranger cottage. Great centrally located spot next to tons of hiking & mountain biking:)
This home is within walking distance of two parks, several restaurants and a movie theater. It is just a short 10 minute drive from the world famous JEM trail where you will find some of the best mountain biking around. This is a great central location between Zion national park (25 minutes) and St. George (20 minutes).
