GREAT ROOMY HOUSE
PROPERTY WAS VERY SPACIOUS, CLEAN, AND NICELY DECORATED. BRUCE WAS EASY TO GET AHOLD OF WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
Spacious, well-maintained, convenient, and perfect for 8 adults!
This house was perfect for our group to spend NYE weekend in Port Clinton for the Walleye Drop! It was very clean and really a nice place! Had a few very minor issues that the property owner addressed for us right away (e.g., propane on grill was out, and he directed us to where we could find a full tank). Location was very convenient to downtown and we were able to walk to/from town in less than 10 minutes. I would highly recommend for families or groups of friends, as there was more than enough room for 8 adults to live together comfortably for 3 days (more would be ok too)! House was bigger than we expected, and although the basement isn't finished, the queen bed is set up very nicely down there, and it is super clean for a basement! Thank you for sharing your home with us; we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again someday!!
Property is clean and comfortable, plenty of room for three couples.
Our family travelled from various states to visit for Thanksgiving. The house was stocked well for our cooking needs. A short walk to downtown and the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I held my bachelorette party respectfully at this location. The home was so cozy and comfortable and beautifully decorated. This place will now forever be a magically memory between my friends and I. Thank you for this opportunity. The house is perfect and the beds are comfortable.
What a great place! We have been coming to Camp Perry for years and staying in very unpleasant accommodations; last year we decided enough was enough and I began looking for a home to rent. It was definitely a home--we felt so pampered! It fit 6 of us very comfortably and had everything we needed! From drinking a cup of tea on the porch in comfy chairs, to watching the races in the living room, to cooking dinners in the kitchen...this house had it all. The neighborhood is quiet and immaculate, and the neighbors are friendly. We were so thankful for the wonderful stay. We already began to plan for next year before leaving!
Thank you to Brad and the owners for such a wonderful place!
See you again next year!
For the money, a good place to stay in Port Clinton if you have a smaller group
The house itself is a cute little house, well maintained and in a great location. The listing shows this as a 4 bedroom rental, and notes that the 4th bedroom is actually just a queen sized bed and some roll aways in the basement. There aren't any pictures of the basement, but some reviews seemed positive about the basement so we went ahead and booked the place. We had 8 adults and 2 children under 3 staying at the house, and it was really just too much. Those of us who slept in the basement could hear every footstep made on the main floor and we could clearly hear the conversations taking place in the kitchen and living room. (For reference, we are in our late 30s, as is my sister. Our parents and aunt are in their 60s and 70s. We aren't exactly a rowdy bunch.)
This would have been absolutely fine, again for the money, except that we had an encounter with the owner that really started our vacation out on the wrong foot. When we arrived, I used the restroom upstairs and it wouldn't flush because there was no water in the tank. I tried the shut off valve and it was open, so I called Brad to see if something could be done. He said that the owner would call me. Bruce, the owner, called and we set up a time the next morning for him to come over to fix it. OK, these things happen, no problem. We will work with just one toilet for the night. When Bruce got there, he did not say hello to us or ask us about the toilet. The first thing he said to us was that the gray car (one of ours) needed to be moved right away and that he had already received a call from the cops about the car being in the street. OK, so we moved it and apologized. (When we first arrived, it looked more like an alley way/ parking area and not a street. It was not obvious that we should park parallel to the house.) Next, he was very annoyed that my parents' bicycles were parked in a fairly open space on the main floor. OK, I get it: You don't want marks on the wood floor. Again we apologized and we immediately moved them, but he continued to act like we were an inconvenience. He went upstairs to fix the toilet and he continued to be rude to my parents who were staying in the master suite. (To his credit, he did later give my parents some good advice about getting to the ferry to Putin Bay.) Maybe Bruce was just having a bad day, but we did not appreciate being spoken to like some kids who were throwing parties and trashing his house. I would not rent here again.
In the center of it all. Just a 5 block / half mile walk and you are in the center of Downtown Port Clinton and surrounded by restaurants, bars, shopping, island ferries, and fishing charter boats.
