The Row House was originally build in 1890, but has been completely renovated and modernized. The location cannot be beat if you are working on Capitol Hill or visiting the Nation's Capitol tourist sights. It is conveniently located 100 yards from the Capitol South Metro station and is also walking distance to National's Stadium. There are three bedrooms, two equipped with queen beds and one room with a single bed. This is an ideal location for a spring break to DC for the Cherry Blossoms or for a field trip for the kids to see the national museums and attractions. All are in walking distance. The house also has a detached garage, so if you drive in, parking is not an issue. The Kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil, pot, pan, tool you could need. Wi-Fi, Cable TV, Heating and Air.

Mike purchased this House in 2007
Why Mike chose Eastern Market
You cannot find a more convenient location if your business brings you to Capitol Hill or if you want to see the Nation's Capitol and the Historic area. Park your vehicle in the detached garage and walk to all the sights.

Older home with character in a great location, near the capitol, and access to the Metro!
Location great - house not so much
This is a fantastic walkable location on Capitol Hill, the Metro within steps. Now the house. Old and historic is nice. Having said that, this property is in need of repair and cleaned properly. I’d say at most the sheets and towels are clean. The rest not so much. Kitchen appliances are filthy. We only used the Keurig for coffee. So if all you want is a bed in a great locale go for it.
This review is not consistent with the hundreds of great reviews that I have previously received.
The house is thoroughly cleaned and reset prior to the arrival of every guest. There was nothing different prior to the arrival of Doreen.
I ask other people looking to stay, to please consider the hundreds of great reviews that preceded Doreen's review, and the great reviews since her stay, when choosing you rental. Not sure why, but Doreen's review is an anomaly.
Location is everything
The owner Mike was great, and quick to reply when a minor issue arose. The location is truly the reward. Being able to park and walk to Capitol Hill was the primary highlight. The home is older, which is not a problem mostly, though the upstairs showers need a good tile cleaning (and other minor cleanings/repairs could make the experience better), and it would be helpful to have an available closet in the master bedroom and more plates for the microwave (since the large majority of plates are china with metal trim). Downstairs is very relaxing after a lot of walking. I would recommend this property if Capitol Hill is the focus, and because it is almost certain that you will have an exceptional experience communicating with the owner Mike.
Great location, with private parking.
This property is conveniently located by the Metro, and within easy walking distance to the Capitol. There is a garage for parking off the alley, we were able to park our vehicle for the duration of our stay and either walk or take the Metro. There were 4 Metro cards available and all we needed to do was load some funds onto them.
The property needs a deep cleaning along with maintenance, and some things like light fixtures were quirky bordering on annoying. The master bedroom is a generous space, but it is kind of like a loft. The beds are comfortable and clean. The front bedroom is much more private, if you don't mind walking down the hallway to the bathroom.
The biggest problem we had was that there was no AC during our stay in August. It was 82 degrees in the house. Each bedroom had a fan, but being on the 2nd floor just meant that it was even hotter.
Awesome location! Would definitely rent it again!
Fantastic location for a fantastic vacation!
A group of six of us stayed here for 6 days, and it was a very enjoyable experience! Every time we stepped outside to do some sight seeing or general exploring, we were blown away by how close we were to everything in the National Mall area, and the Capital South metro stop for when we were venturing further away. When we first arrived, Mike pointed out some things around the house (the ridiculous amount of light switches, the old tiling in the shower stall, etc.) to make sure that there were no surprises, but honestly these things were hardly noticeable during our stay. Overall, the home was very comfortable and was stocked with everything we could possibly need during our DC visit, and if we ever head back to DC with this size group we'll be checking in with Mike to see if this home is available!
