Guest art House:
The holiday House Il Giardino dei Cedri is part of an art project in which we theorized that the future of art is to directly have an aesthetic experience living a place thought of as a work of art and not just as an architectural space. This in order to benefit both body and spirit. We have other homes in the area where we apply the same principle, in fact we called our guest house is called “guest art house”.
All our guests can feel well here, we are pleased to welcome you , and share an aesthetic experience.
Our sustainable and ethical lifestyle, indeed part of ancient Sicilian tradition and teachings handed down from our parents. This tradition is now being rediscovered for its amazingly contemporary ethical and ecological values.
Sicily is the first Italian region for organic farms, all Sicilians like to eat produce from their own garden Those living in the city usually like to buy produce from local trusted farmers. The Sicilians brought the tradition of small sustainable production. They try to do this wherever they go. In the period after the tomato harvest, from Sicily to Turin, Sicilians spendtheir sundays to prepare the tomato sauce that is stored for the winter.
In small counties, the land inherited from grandparents are maintained by families and when the time comes, all the relatives join forces to pick olives and take them to the mill for the oil they'll consume throughout the winter. Others produce twheat, and so, plumbers, doctors, electricians, masons, teachers, become farmers in the weekeend, maintaining a sacred relationship with their land.
For us it is natural and cultural look at the labels on products before buying them, save water, recycle wet paper, glass and plastic, eating the products of our garden, and seasonal foods, to buy vegetables and eggs directly from a trusted farmer. Bread from a neighbor who has a wood oven, and we just love homemade pasta. Also we make jams and preserves, and in for our house we use ecological detergents and soaps.
