Murphy Family Vacation
We had a wonderful time at this home! We are a family of 17, here for a family reunion! We fit...just fine! My only 'moderate' complaint would be that, if the owner's decided to remodel the place, please, add another bathroom to accommodate larger crowds! But...we made that work and we loved the attention to detail that the owners provided on ALL other aspects! Great frontage location on Flathead lake! We enjoyed the historical information on the house and the interior 'wall writings'!
Thank you for such a wonderful vacation!
Wonderful stay on the Flathead Lake
This house was filled with charm and beauty. We had a wonderful stay in such a comfortable home with amazing views of the lake and mountains. We kayaked several days in the crystal clear waters of the lake and golfed several times on a near by course that was beautiful. Our Golden Retriever loved swimming in the lake so it was fun for all. The owners were very nice to work with and their care takers that live just across the street gave us a nice welcome.
Wonderful Summer Vacation Home
This is a magical property. We are looking forward to our third summer here! We've always found this place very clean and well maintained. The house is in a great location: close to Lakeside, beautiful views of flathead lake and the mountains. We can't think of a better place to read a good book, have a leisurely candle-lit family dinner, or watch Osprey fly over, than on the deck of this house. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cooking utensils and plates. Owners have been great- flexible and helpful!
This home is wonderful! The property provided beautiful scenery with an amazing view. The home has so much character with its historic background. We had plenty of room for my family of four and my in laws. It was furnished with everything we needed. We were able to go swimming and kayaking in the lake right off the property. We enjoyed grilling on the back patio with the breathtaking view and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. The caretakers live across the street and were a great resource for us. The owners were gracious, kind and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Our family hopes to go again next year. What a wonderful vacation!
Would not return or recommend
We spent the entire month of July at this house. While we had a great vacation, given the beauty that surrounds, I would not stay here again, or recommend this property to anyone. The house is charming, as stated, and has a wonderful yard, however there are elements that make it impossible to return. The caretakers who live across the street were very present, constantly mowing the yard and finding reasons to come over - not something I enjoy or appreciate while relaxing on vacation. They are also very dishonest in the information they provide to the owners. Elements of the house that are not ideal and would also prevent us from returning are the dock and the bathrooms. The dock that you see in the pictures is not the dock that belongs to this house. The dock for this house is behind the trees on the right, and is very hard to navigate and use any watercraft with. The boat lift is small and hard to navigate into with a boat since the neighbors dock is so close, and tying jet skis to the dock is very difficult since the only place to tie them to is the actual boat lift. There are two bathrooms but one of them is downstairs right off the kitchen, far away from any bedroom, and neither has a bathtub (only extremely small showers) which is most ideal with kids. It's such a charming home, with rich history, and it's a shame that the caretakers and the owners are the major reason I would not return to this home. I am happy to provide more information to anyone that wants it - but in the meantime, I would not recommend staying at this home. Unfortunate. We visit the lake every year and are thankful there are so many other wonderful homes & operations to choose from.
Our home has two very large bathrooms, both with normal size showers. Both showers have tall ceilings and have the option of hand-held or wall-mounted overhead shower heads, no bathtubs. Our dock and boat lift accommadate boats up to 23' long and without a tower as the dock is covered. All other watercraft are tied up along the outside of the dock. Local watercraft rental agencies are quite familiar with our dock as they rent many fine boats to our guests. We have 2 kayaks available for guests to use, as well. The grounds are extensive: lawn, cherry trees, flowers, tennis court and bocce court. Our caretakers must do yard work once a week, usually Saturday during guest turn-over or at a time set between guests and caretakers. We love our home and we make every effort to offer a great experience to all our guests.
Breathtaking Glacier National Park is an hour away and it's worth the effort to make a day trip to Glacier. For skiers, Blacktail
Mountain is approximately a 30 minutes drive and Whitefish Mountain is just under an hour's drive. Watercraft of all kinds may be rented in Lakeside. We have Provided 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and many life preservers available to use. Private Tennis and Bocce Ball Courts as well as a large fire pit
