Family Friendly Beachfront Getaway!
We had such a lovely, relaxing time at this property. The owners checked on us early in the week and they had everything we needed in the condo (coolers, beach chairs and towels, and beach toys for all ages). The property was quiet and the views were absolutely amazing. We walked over to John’s Pass on several occasions- there is plenty to do in the area. We even saw dolphins from our balcony. Would definitely recommend this condo!
Extremely disappointed in our treatment
Nice location, however, I caution that the owners and the cleaners provided extremely disappointing customer service. We stayed last year with the some services like TV not operating properly and we said nothing. This time same issue with TVs. We had an issue when our 6 yr old walked into the screen door accidentally. We did not notice a tear in the screen at the bottom parallel to the frame. On departure day, the cleaning ladies showed up 2 minutes after check out and were EXTREMELY rude and abrasive. By the time we reached the airport, we received an offensively accusatory email claiming that we broke the screen and left the unit at a sub-par level of cleanliness. We take great pride in leaving a unit as we found it. We washed all but 2 beach towels so they weren't wet in the w-machine from the morning swim; swept the unit; stripped beds; washed all dishes; tidied and put all cushions, furniture bedding in place; removed all garbage and recycling and wrote a nice thank you note. We owned up to the ripped screen immediately and stated we had not seen it but yes, our daughter walked into it - we would pay for repairs . The owner spoke down to us as if we were not just a family with two young children and in bed by9 pm, but partiers attempting to do damage. Claims of leaving sand on the beach chairs and splatter in microwave. We put beach toys/chairs away, actually left toys for next guest, and swept the entire floor/deck before leaving. This is a beachfront unit - it's impossible to rid it of every grain of sand. They were also mad that glitter from a toy purchased locally made it to the table. I assure you, had we noticed, we would have removed it. It was minor sparkle at best. That said, we paid a sizable cleaning fee as part of the cost and if it doesn't cover a wipe down and the basic cleaning (microwave wipe?), I am left very confused. The owner has without our consent kept our entire deposit plus cleaning fee which is a substantial amount when we had already paid a cleaning fee and willing to fix a screen door. We are travelers who do our part EVERY TIME. I would highly suggest that you take pictures before and after of your stay in order to avoid this owner keeping your deposit w/o just cause. Our 1st contact would not answer our messages to discuss. A conciliatory email came too late! They provided cheap amenities, charged for cleaning and then kept our deposit. No word since taking our money. Beware!
It is very disappointing to us when we have a guest who is not 100% satisfied. As a homeowner, not a business, we work around the clock to make sure each guest is taken care of and feels completely satisfied. To give one-star and write such a dishonest review is testimony to your character and I would hope that any potential guest would see it as your obvious venting after being forced to pay for the damages that you admitted to. Your specific words to me were that you had a great time and it was a wonderful condo. It was only after you checked out that I discovered the damage to the door. At no point during your stay did you inform me. The fact that you damaged the door beyond repair, left huge amounts of sand on the patio, on the beach supplies, on the floors and even in the refrigerator are what resulted in the loss of your security deposit. But rather than continue to dialog with me, you went to VRBO claiming you were the victim. I know this because they had me send every certified receipt that I paid for your damages, which I was glad to do. My expenses exceeded what I collected from your security deposit to replace the door, and clean the unit back to the standard that you found it. But because I care more about having a satisfied guest come into a clean, serviceable unit, I just absorbed the cost and will continue to host outstanding guests who know how to care for a home.
seamless initial conversations with william to arrange our stay ,good joining instructions , upon entering condo was greeted with clean well presented and all facilities needed , spacious balcony overlooking the gulf saw numerous dolphins while sat there , lovely beach with towels and chairs provided , numerous bars and eateries are easy walk across road at johns pass,would not hesitate in using again
Excellent condo and location!
The condo was very nice, plenty of room to spread out, furniture and beds were comfortable and the view of beach is awesome. The beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc...) was a nice bonus. Checking in and out was super easy. I would highly recommend this condo.
