Fabulous house in a perfect setting
36 Kent street was a wonderful large house with an elegant front porch for hanging out and reading a great book. Rehobeth in off season still had a lively night life and good restaurants. The house was a quick 5 minute walk into town. The house was very clean and welcoming . I would recommend it to my friends.
House is really well suited to our family group of 3 grandchildren & 4 adults
House is in a great location. Easy walks to downtown and to the beach. Lovely street near a small park. Layout of house is perfect plenty of space great technology. The frig even beeps if you leave the door open too long! Beds very comfortable. Front yard filled with blooming daffodils. We missed using the upper deck due to storm damage. And we would have liked more kitchen supplies for baking (muffin tins, cookie sheet, measuring teaspoons) but the kitchen is otherwise very well equipped with very nice clean appliances. We would definitely rent this house again! The dog friendly option made it perfect for us.
Amazing home! Not just a rental!
Club Kent is gorgeous! Comfortable, roomy, very well apportioned. Real art: yes, real art! Amazing in every way! Only thing: the property manager needs a new cleaning crew desparately...
Thank you for your reservation and your feedback. I'd like to hear more about your concerns about cleaning. This is the same cleaning crew that has garnered reviews that have said this is the cleanest house ever stayed in. Interested in knowing what went wrong in this case so that it can be addressed.
Thank you, Andy.
Great house in a great location
The house (Club Kent as the owners prefer) is well appointed, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to friends. Only complaint is that the TV/sound/light systems are so complicated it takes an average person a week to figure them out. We only ever got two TVs to work the entire stay. But otherwise a wonderful spot in Rehoboth.
Property is well maintained and location is perfect - easy access to the beach but also very quiet!
Property is as lovely as the pictures suggest. We were very pleasantly surprised at how easy the trek was to the beach despite being 4ish blocks away. If you are bringing chairs and umbrellas for a family, you will want a wagon otherwise it is a quick 10 minute trip. Rental agent was terrific - the outdoor shower valve hadn't been installed for the season when we arrived and the grill needed a bit of attention. The agent responded to my e-mail very quickly and minor issues were taken care of within 24 hours (impressive given it was the Sunday of a holiday weekend!) Only very minor improvement suggested is for bigger coffee mugs. If you like a big cup to get your day started, you should bring your own.
Exceeded every expectation
The first thing I observed upon arrival was the quality of the amenities. My hunch is that the owners live here more than many of the other rental properties in which I've stayed.
Denon AV receiver. Sonos wireless sound system. Vera automation controller. Lumenplay porch and deck lights. Samsung TVs. Brand new LG kitchen appliances.
Was truly the most well-furnished home I've rented to date. A lot of care and attention to making your time spent in the house easy to enjoy.
We came with two other families. Four kids under 3 years old in total. The house was perfect for everyone.
The layout has two BRs downstairs, one with an en suite and another sharing a BA with the common area. BRs empty out into the kitchen, dining area and living room. Upstairs has BRs on opposite sides of the house with a shared BA (shower, no bathtub) in the middle. Carpeting made for incredibly quiet rooms (baby crying in one room couldn't be heard by other adults across the hall).
Location was great, depending on your interests. The walk to the beach was a little longer than I prefer, given that all families were hauling kids, strollers and beach gear back and forth. That said, if you're just doing one roundtrip to the beach per day, it's not bad (~11 minute walk to the sand). The location is pristine for Rehoboth Avenue dining. A 3-minute walk to Starbucks, Dogfish Head, Fins Fish House and more. Loved the quiet street as well. Parking was not a challenge (we fit three cars on the driveway and had two street passes).
No real criticisms of the house. Only points to share would be for families with younger kids:
1) The rug in the living room downstairs is a rough natural fiber (jute?). If you plan to have little kids crawling on it, bring something to lay on top of it. We traveled with our rubber 12"x12" color-block nursery flooring, so we just laid it down on top and life was good.
2) The coffee tables in the living room have quite sharp metal edges. Solved the problem by just moving them into the screen porch for the stay.
Highly recommend the property, as well as the realtor. I worked with Andy Meddick from Downtown Beach Rentals and had a delightful, pain-free experience.
Will absolutely stay again next year.
