Waterfront home with guest house, dock and stunning water and sunset views located three miles south of the charming town of North East, Maryland. The property contains up to six sleeping rooms. The main house has a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room, a dining room that seats 10 people, an office, a laundry room with washer and drier, an entry hall with an adjoining powder room, a TV room and a large lower patio plus a screened-in upper porch, both facing the water. The main house includes two bedrooms, both of which have private bathrooms. One bedroom has a king bed and the other a queen bed. A third room in the main house (the TV room) can be used as a private bedroom with a very comfortable queen-size Frontgate portable bed. The guest house has a full bathroom, a sitting room and two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two twin beds. The guest house also has a microwave oven and a mini refrigerator. Both the house and guesthouse are air conditioned. An additional bedroom with a king-sized sleeper sofa, a private bathroom, an entertainment room with a with a big-screen TV and a private balcony facing the water may be available in the main house for an additional charge.
The home was built in 1910 but has been completely renovated and redecorated. The home sits on 4 1/2 acres of landscaped grounds and features gorgeous views of Cara Cove, the North East river and the Upper Chesapeake Bay. The property has a wooded picnic area with three picnic tables and a private beach with several Adirondack chairs. (The beach has stones so it is best to bring beach shoes to enter the water). There also is a pier and a floating dock where you can tie up your boat after a day spent water skiing, fishing or just cruising around the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. Also available for guests are a Kayak, fishing rod, and several outside games including horse shoes, bean bag toss, boccie ball, and Croquet.
The home is perfect for a family getaway or couples looking for nature and serenity. It is convenient to all major Northeast cities. It is only a thirty minute drive to Wilmington, Delaware, one hour to Baltimore and Philadelphia, 1 1/2 hours to Washington D.C. and 2 hours to New York City. There is frequent high speed train service from Wilmington to downtown NYC and downtown DC. It is a perfect base from which to tour these exciting and historic cities. Also close by are many quaint and charming towns like Chesapeake City, Havre de Grace, Chestertown, the Amish areas in near-by Pennsylvania and many more.
The property is very private and quiet and is perfect for fishing, kayaking, swimming or just relaxing on the large front porch. There are several parks nearby with plenty of hiking trails and fabulous vistas. For those who like to fish we have been told by avid fishermen that our dock is one of the best fishing areas on the entire upper Chesapeake.
