Amenities and location are the name of the game in Denver. My place is on the 14th floor of a high rise downtown.
Situated two blocks from the famous 16th Street Mall, one block from the Denver Performing Arts Complex, one block from the Colorado Convention Center, 10 minute walk to Pepsi Center (Nuggets, Avalanche, concerts, etc.), 20-30 minute walk to Mile High Stadium (World Champion Broncos!), 20 minute walk to Coors Field, and five minutes to Larimer Square shopping and dining area. The point is that you are right in the middle of everything!
As for amenities: we have a state of the art fitness center with machines, free weights, cardio machines (each with its own TV).
There is a small pool open year-round. Brave enough to hit it up during the snow? No worries, one of the hot tubs is a short skip from the pool so you can warm up very quickly. Not to mention the glass fire pit on the other side of the pool (simply flip the switch to turn the fire on). For a little more privacy there is a second hot tub on the other side of the 9th floor rooftop.
Pool table in the amenity space with view of four different TVs, perfect for gameday. One of the TV's is a projection screen large enough to see from outside while using one of the three rooftop grills.
There is free wifi on the entire 9th floor (including the fitness center so you can set your ipad to Netflix and cardio away). It's also a great, quiet environment for working if you want some space.
The 10th floor features more public space with a sun bathing deck, two apple computers for free use, free wifi, and an awesome theater room for movies and a popcorn machine (free, of course).
In the private unit, there is a small balcony overlooking the city to the east and a view of the southern mountain range (Pike's Peak is in the distance). Two televisions in the unit (one 32" in the bedroom area and a 52" in the living area).
There is also DirecTV, Netflix, Wii, BluRay, wireless printer, and complimentary wifi in the unit. Additionally, there is a desktop computer in the unit hooked to the internet in case you don't have a laptop/tablet with you.
The bed is a queen size and extremely comfortable. The couch/futon in the living room can easily be modified to a bed. I do not have sheets specifically for it yet (but intend to by end of Feb 2014), there are blankets for it.
Please, no pets or smoking. This entire building is smoke free - yes, even marijuana. Please respect my space and neighbors by not are free game though!
As a guest, you have access to all amenities mentioned: 9th floor common areas such as pool table, year-round pool, hot tubs, fire pit, fitness center. 10th floor common space including sun deck and theater room (unless someone has reserved the theater room ahead of time). The concierge can tell you if it is booked, and I can book it for you if you want. This does include a popcorn machine with easy instructions to operate and kernels/butter included. You will need to bring a DVD/Blue Ray/Netflix login to watch a movie. You're welcome to my outdated collection of movies as well :-).
Interaction with guests
Help yourself to any food and alcohol in the condo but please ask to take any cigars as some I keep here as a courtesy to a friend of mine.
I'm happy to give suggestions on activities in the area and "must sees" and "don't bothers" for visitors. Periodically I'll throw community events which you are welcome to join, simply ask if anything is going on during your stay.
The neighborhood is great! There's some great dining, live music, awesome bars, the theater district, tons of nightlife, sporting events and concerts in walking distance, and 14th Street recently went through a multi-million dollar renovation.
Oh, and there are breweries, distilleries, and even wineries in the area!
Want to escape to the mountains for the day? It's easy to access the highway and you'll be entering the mountains within about 15 minutes of leaving the city. On top of that, there is a Hertz in the building.
Denver has some awesome pockets of neighborhoods worth checking out, simply ask me what I recommend based on your interests and I'll point you in the right direction.
Car2Go is a car share program that is extremely affordable if you're signed up. If you're not, look into it and sign up in case it takes them a day or two to get your account live.
There is a light rail station across the street. Union Station for nearly all bus routes, trains, and the train to the airport is a short walk away, and there are plenty of cabs. B-cycle is a bike share program that you can sign up for when you arrive, it's about $9 per day (I'm not certain on all the pricing so check out their website first) or you can sign up for longer periods with discounts. There is a B-cycle station across the street and many throughout the city - available year round.
Other things to note
I spent a decade in the hospitality industry and love to pamper my guests. If you have any special requests please feel free to let me know - it's what I do. These could include things such as amenities in room upon arrival: cheese and meat plate with wine, local beer selection, etc. Extra charges may apply.
Note: Due to HOA rules, I will have to submit a signed lease for your stay prior to arrival. It is a very simple lease only referencing the agreement per VRBO and there is no further responsibility implied with the lease; just a formality. If you'd like to see an example of this lease please write me.
