Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 6

As soon as you arrive at Mountain Perch, you’ll see just how fitting its name is. The 3-bedroom cabin really does feel as if it’s perched atop a cliff, giving you the most extraordinary views of the mountains and lush woodlands of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

You can savor the spectacular vistas from the rocking chairs provided outside. During the day the kids will love it; they’ll feel as if they’re soaring over the edge of a bluff. In the evening you and your special someone will love it too: Sitting beneath the star-studded sky, with only the serenading whip-poor-wills as company, is so romantic.

The porch’s hot tub provides another glorious vantage point for reveling in the surrounding grandeur. So does the balcony, outfitted with 2 rockers, connected to the master suite. And even as you relax in the main floor’s great room you can marvel at the view, courtesy of a wall of picture windows.

That’s not the only reason Mountain Perch’s great room is so inviting. Anchored by a roomy leather sectional, the living area can comfortably seat the whole family. In winter you can enjoy hot cocoa or Irish coffee by the fireplace. And any time of year is a good one to stretch out and watch a movie on the HDTV with cable and a DVD player.

The dining area, with a table that seats 6, is also part of the open-plan great room. Ditto a game area that houses the pool table. And there’s a kitchen too, fully equipped with stainless-steel appliances, cookware, tableware, and ample counter space.

The 3 bedrooms are upstairs. The master suite is a true haven. When you’re not curled up in the glider chair with a good book, you can stretch out on the king-size bed and watch TV, surf the web (Mountain Perch has free WiFi), or simply relish the chirping of the crickets and tree frogs outside. The private master bath is also spacious—larger than some hotel rooms we’ve seen! Best of all, it includes a large Jacuzzi with its own luscious view.

The 2nd bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the 3rd features 2 twin beds. Each of these bedrooms has its own TV. The 2nd full bathroom includes a combination shower/tub. For added convenience, there’s a half-bath as well. And speaking of convenience, Mountain Perch has its own washer and dryer.

Mountain Perch is located in Gatlinburg’s quiet Cobbly Nob neighborhood, which itself is part of a 1,000-acre resort. When you stay here in summer, you’ll have free access to 3 outdoor swimming pools. In fact, a path leads directly from the cabin to one of the pools.

At the foot of Cobbly Nob, just 3 miles from Mountain Perch, is the 72-par Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Masters and British Open champion Gary Player. If you’d rather hit the hiking trails than the links, head to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and see for yourself why it’s the most popular national park in the country.

Mountain Perch is also just a few minutes from the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 galleries, shops, and studios. And only 20 minutes away is downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, thrill rides, arcades, and a tram that carries you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.

Then again, you could happily while away your entire vacation simply relaxing at the cabin, luxuriating in the hot tub, marveling at nature’s grandeur, and enjoying each other’s company. However you spend your time here, it’s sure to be magical and memorable. So book your stay at Mountain Perch today… before someone else gets to it first.

The view, the bears, WOW!

  • 4 of 5

The house itself is located in a beautiful place. The views from inside the home and outside the home are amazing. We saw bears 5 times while we were there and it was the highlight of the trip. The home is nicely furnished and beds are comfortable, only wish there was more than one shower. There were some things I wish I could contact the homeowner about (1) The maintenance crew needs to do a better job of inspecting the property for issues. The back screen door was clearly out of align, the beautiful swing in the photos on the right side needs repaired, arrived and there was a broken chair at the entrance on the left, there is a deck board that need replaced as it is completely cracked and creates a tripping hazard. Definite painting need done throughout the house with marks on the wall, especially in the area of the pool table, the refrigerator is missing the front door handle, the washer an d dryer both seem to be on their last leg.

(2) The cleaning crew could also do a better job. The should make sure the deck is cleaned (both levels), cob webs are removed from the windows as well as inside on fixtures. They could do a better job at dusting as well.

Best view ever!

  • 4 of 5

Our family loved the location to Gatlinburg and the view was amazing. Loved seeing our bear friend the 1st 2 nights of our stay. Our family loved the hot tub and after a little, steep drive, enjoyed the pool. House was a little dirty on our arrival and pools were quite far away but all good other than that.

Fantastic Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Mountain Perch. The highlight of the stay was when a mama bear and her 3 cubs made a visit just outside of deck. Amazing!

Great location and property has a beautiful view of the mountains.

Relaxing, quiet and a spectacular view!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was roomy, cozy and had an amazing view of the mountains. My only negatives were the master bed was rather lumpy, the twin beds were too hard and they needed one more shower instead of the big tub in the master. We had a great time and were glad to be just far enough away from the "touristy" spots in Gatlinburg.
