4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 11
Although Above the Clouds II can sleep 11 people—and a 4-legged friend or 2 as well—even when you have a full house it will never feel crowded. In addition to 4 bedrooms, the 3-story lodge includes a huge wraparound deck with a hot tub, a game room, a great room, and a spacious sunroom. There’s plenty of space for everyone to gather together, as well as plenty of spaces where you can retreat for some private time.
The sunroom is the most spectacular of the rooms. Walls of windows allow you to admire the majestic Smoky Mountains whether you’re sprawled out on a sofa or eating at the dining table, which seats 6. The cathedral ceiling adds to the airy, laid-back ambience. The sunroom includes a desk, in case you need to catch up on work or email during your stay; Above the Clouds II has free WiFi as well.
A 2nd dining area is in the great room. This pub-style table seats 4, and there’s room for 3 more at the adjacent breakfast bar, which separates the dining area from the kitchen. Open and well equipped, the kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you’ll need, whether you’re reheating leftovers from the previous night’s restaurant meal or cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner from scratch.
Thanks to the open layout of the great room, even while you’re creating a culinary masterpiece you can still join in on the fun in the living area. As well as 2 sumptuous sofas, the living area includes an armoire that holds the TV, the VCR/DVD player, and the radio/CD player. On brisk winter evenings you’ll want to gather by the fireplace, hot cocoa or Irish coffee in hand.
The downstairs game room has its own fireplace, along with a regulation-size pool table. If shooting pool isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy hanging out down here. There are numerous board games to choose from, a TV, and a plush couch tailor-made for stretching out on.
Of the 4 bedrooms, 3 are furnished with a king-size bed, and all 4 have their own television. The master bedrooms are large and elegantly furnished, with ample storage and lustrous wood-planked walls and beamed ceilings. One of the upstairs bedrooms opens directly onto a deck, so that you can slip outside to watch the sunrise without waking any of the others. The 4th bedroom is a cozy nook with bunk beds that the kids are sure to love. In addition, Above the Clouds II has a futon that sleeps 2 and a sofa chair for one more guest.
The deck is just as inviting as the interior of Above the Clouds II. Wooden rockers let you watch falcons soar above the mountains and listen to larks and sparrows in perfect comfort. Little ones will have a blast with the deck’s playhouse. A roomy table enables you to dine alfresco; the crisp mountain breeze will transform even a simple meal of soup and sandwiches into a special-occasion feast. For true luxury, end your evening with a soak in the hot tub beneath the star-studded sky. It just might be a highlight of your vacation.
Because Above the Clouds II is located at the end of a private cul-de-sac, it feels blissfully secluded. Yet it’s actually conveniently close to myriad activities and attractions. Since the lodge is within the upscale Cobbly Nob community, when you stay here in the summer you’ll have free access to 3 pool areas. Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Grand Slam champion Gary Player, is less than a mile away. In less than 15 minutes you can drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Smoky Mountains Arts & Crafts Community. And in just 20 minutes you can be in downtown Gatlinburg, home to thrill rides, an aquarium, arcades, restaurants, and more.
In short, Above the Clouds II has the serenity, comfort, convenience, and beauty to ensure an idyllic vacation. Don’t miss out; book your stay today.

Tucked away gem
The drive up the mountain can be rough-and the driveway is atrocious. However, the views from the decks are amazing. Wake up early for a sunrise-you won’t be sad. The cabin is a bit dated, but cozy. The kitchen is tight if many are there trying to cook, but it does have everything you could need to prepare a meal. The hot tub and pool table are a nice addition, and were very much enjoyed our entire stay. Housekeeping was great in bringing us more towels when we requested them. The two tv’s down on the very bottom story don’t have a remote and you can’t change the channels, but that’s just a minor issue. Overall, we were happy with this little cabin, and we probably would return!
Thank you Brittanie for staying with us and for taking the time to share. We are glad you enjoyed your stay
Nice mountain getaway
Overall it is a really nice vacation spot! Other than a little musty of a smell, and a broken towell rack it was very clean and the view from the deck is amazing. Make sure you have a gps or print the directions because you will most likely lose your phone signal.

Nice place but infested w rats!
Mouse and rat fecal matter throughout. Found live rat in toilet on day 2. Called and was treated as a commonality due to being in the mountains.

More cons than positive
- View from deck was amazing and the updated second family area and sitting area were great.
- Check in at 3 pm however the code did not work and stood outside for hours. Was able to enter with the previous weeks code by 10 pm. No apologies or checking next day if all was ok.
- Bathrooms felt dirty: towel rack hanging in main floor bathroom broke on 1st day. Also No bath mats or if they were not enough towels to use as a mat. towels available 9 out of 11 people. Lastly Shower curtains had mold in them.
- Bedding was not comfortable: Warmer blankets looked like bugs had gotten in it. We had to ask for more. Pillow cases for main floor bedroom did not fit king pillows and had to call for more to get them fitted
- Amenities in basement were needing repair or update to make more comfortable: Washer does not agitate just soaks and spins dry. Basement bedrooms have strong smell of mold
- Mouse poop in kitchen and in silverware

Amazing views and a great value for this location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Above the Clouds! The views from the back deck could not have been any better! The hot tub was an added bonus that my whole family enjoyed. My only suggestion would be to maybe have the couches professionally cleaned as they did have odors from pets. Aside from that, we were very pleased and would rent here again!
Thank you Angela for staying with us and for taking the time to share.
Gorgeous Views but house needs some TLC
The neighborhood and house views were great, but the house needs some attention and TLC. Kitchen and bath on main floor are dated and need updating. Missing shingles on house. Carpets throughout the house were extremely in need of cleaning. Very dirty, things evidently spilled in bedrooms and stairs that we did not walk around barefoot. I would not consider this house a 4 bedroom. The 4th bunk room is in the basement built under the stairs and had a misfit remnant of carpet and cement floor. With some TLC this house could be a showplace, but in its current condition was lacking and disappointing.
Thank you Laura for staying with us and for taking the time to share. We want you to know that the issues you encountered during your stay have been corrected. We hope you will stay with us again.
