About the property

My place is close to

•The beach

•Three stop lights from downtown Charleston

•Walking distance to Avondale District coffee shop, bars, brewery, wine and cheese shop, and diverse restaurants (voted best neighborhood in Charleston by Charlestonians!)

•West Ashley Greenway trail for running and biking

•24 hour grocery store one block

•Hair salon, barber, spa one block

You’ll love my place because of the completely remodeled urban cottage feel with a backyard and brick patio to relax in. Close to everything.

There is a sunny and secluded brick patio to relax in after your Charleston day. Avondale is a short walk and was voted by Charleston as the best neighborhood in town! Mellow Mushroom pizza, The Roost sports bar, sandwich shop, Pearls oyster bar, the oldest bar in Charleston Genes's Hofbrau (a dive), a good coffee shop, a new brewery, Aldi La Italian restaurant, Triangle Char Bar, Harris Teeter is a block away. The location makes all of Charleston convenient. Especially downtown and the beach. The house is completely remodeled. Hardwood floors, marble countertops, jaccuzi tub, beautiful live oak trees, and plenty of room to kick back and relax. A seasonal farmer's market is also within walking distance.

The house has wifi. User name and password is on the router. There is a separate room that with a couch and a flat screen with Blue-ray player. The upstairs queen has a Tempur-pedic mattress and the downstairs queen is a comfortable pillow top mattress. You have to walk through the bedroom with two twins to get to the upstairs bathroom. Perfect for place for the kids. The half bath is downstairs, and the master bedroom has the other full bath downstairs. We are an ocean minded family. If you leave before 11:00 AM, it is a straight 10.4 mile shot to Folly Beach and you will avoid the unavoidable beach traffic. We head for the west end and go straight for the public parking with bathroom and a wooden walkway leading to the beach. Folly has life guards near the pier. The pier is another cherished beach day spot and has plenty of parking. Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms are a bit farther, but leaving early will get you there with less hassle. Have lunch at Poe's. If it is too packed when you are there, any of the other places are good too. We go all the way to the end of Sullivan's where the Fort is. The beach is actually in the harbor and the boat/ship watching is fantastic. Charlestown Landing is a couple miles away. Great place for a bike ride, a walk, some history and beautiful scenery. Kids love it. Magnolia Plantation is 8 miles away. if you like will not forget experiencing this jewel. The food and beverage scene downtown is approaching world class. Locals are easy to talk to, and relish telling visitors about their favorite spots. Be fearless and get off the beaten path a little. I am here to help if picking a restaurant gets overwhelming. If you end up at Hyman's, you are not trying hard enough! Shem Creek has about as authentic local seafood experience as we have left. If you are brave I can help you get to some spots that are off the reservation and worth your trip. Enjoy your stay!!

I look forward to helping you plan your trip. It would be my pleasure to help you with any request. I am a South Carolinian and have spent most of my life in Charleston. I love her. Bon temps!

Call me with any special requests. I am not opposed to helping you brainstorm accommodating you and your guests before, during, and after your stay. Do not be afraid to ask!

Loved the property

  • 5 of 5

We didn't know what to expect but were very pleased. The property was nice and in a great location. Lynn, the owner, was exceptional, and continued to offer assistance throughout our stay. She always replied within minutes and was very pleasant. We will definitely use this property again, without question.

Great house at a great price in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the house for a family girls weekend with my mother, sister, and our 3 teenage daughters. The house was very spacious - it comfortably slept 6 and had a good size living room, dining area, kitchen and an extra tv room. We loved being able to sit outside on the back patio enjoying the 78 degree weather in February!

The location was great as we were able to walk to dinner one night, and take early morning walks to get coffee. It was an easy 12 minute drive in to Charleston where we enjoyed a harbor cruise, lunch on the rooftop at the Pavilion, and an excellent dinner at the Muse Restaurant and Wine Bar. It was the first time I had been to that restaurant and I would highly recommend it - quaint atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service.

Sunday we drove to Folly Beach and the Angel Oak tree - both an easy drive from the house.

Thank you Lynn for your hospitality - we appreciated how helpful you were!

Great, well-kept property with plenty of space!

  • 4 of 5

Spent a long weekend in Charleston in early January for a surprise birthday getaway with family celebrating Mom's 70th birthday. We picked Charleston hoping the weather would be mild enough that we could enjoy some outdoor activities if so desired. Boy, were we WRONG...6 inches of snow in frigid 30 degree and below temps! Despite the cold weather, we made the best of the weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The homeowners were very accommodating when the property lost hot water during the abnormally cold winter weather and offered suggestions to remedy the situation. The property is quite spacious and in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by grocery stores, retail shops, and lots of dining options. More importantly, the house is just a short drive from downtown and the marina area. Would have given 5 stars but my family had a tough time navigating the Roku television and finding local network news. During normal weather, this would not have been a concern at all, but the frigid temps forced us to alter our original sightseeing and other tourist-related activities. Would definitely recommend to others and would in fact stay there again!

Great location! Comfy cozy house!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay for sure at this cozy house. Didn’t spend a ton of time there but when we did, it was great. Only complaint is no “live TV” everything is on Roku stick.

House was quiet on a quiet street and we loved that it was close to restaurants, etc. Great area. Quick Uber ride to the airport as well. The main bedroom downstairs was great; super comfy bed. Water pressure in that shower was weak but fine. House was clean when we got there and no complaints.

Great house, would stay again for sure.
