My place has a nice private living area which opens to the back balcony, with a rocking chair. Perfect for morning coffee or sunset cocktails :) There is a pull out queen soft bed in the living room and a blow up mattress for any additional guests (over 4).
The bedrooms have incredibly comfortable Queen beds. There is also AC and a space heater in the master bedroom, as well as central heating throughout the house. The bathroom is full; has a sink, toilette, bath and a great shower. The front balcony is the perfect people watching spot where you can watch people cruise around la jolla Blvd. Everything shuts down by 9pm during the week and 10 on the weekends, so don't worry about noise.
You will have a key to go in and out as you please. There is a fully stocked pantry with fresh towels and toilet paper. You will be a short walk to amazing restaurants, shops, bars, a great mini winery and the beach are all within a 5 minute walk.
However, Bird rock beach isn't the beach you can really hang out on. Go to the local spot, wind and sea beach or la jolla coves. Wind and sea beach is about a 10 minute walk and the coves are a 2 minute drive (or mile and a half walk) to downtown la jolla.
Interaction with guests
I stay near by and will be happy to help and available via text or phone call any time. You will have a key to go in and out as you please.
Unlimited/easy parking! Park in the neighborhood behind la jolla blvd towards the beach. There is no street sweeping there. I always par right in front of the place and have never had a problem. However, my friends barber neighbor warns you can get ticketed there if you're there over 2 hours (I don't know if I believe him). I always park in one of the 5 spots on the left side of the sign, but certainly wouldn't want you to get a ticket. so neighborhood is a safe bet.
My favorite Italian restaurants, Organic Juice bar, Starbucks and my favorite restaurant with live music & a great happy hour are literally right down the street (less than 1 minute walk)! Downtown La jolla is a 5 minute drive. EDDIE Vs, George's 5-10 minutes. Ohhhh and should I mention how close my favorite clothing boutiques are- leaving the house is a bit dangerous if you're on a budget because you have everything good right at your finger tips.
However- you know how they say the best things in life are free? Well, grab a book or whatever you fancy and head to the beach. La Jolla coves is a beautiful beach, but gets really crowded on the weekends. I say go to the taco stand, park right around there, get some amazing food and walk to the beach from there. Great hikes are a few miles away as well. Torrey pines is a must do if you are a hiker, runner or a mountain biker!
Uber, taxi, bus and the train. And like I said, it's really a lovely area to walk around and explore! Warning: DOn't use the bike!! It fell apart on me last time I rode it. Do a $10/day bike rental somewhere if you'd like to bike. I'm sure there's plenty of those around.

Run down and no kitchen supplies
Hi. We arrived and noticed that the carpet was old and had stains, which now the owner claims we made. (We didn't wear our shoes inside and ate all meals away, except breakfast and one night of pizza). The walls had holes. The bathroom had mold, rust, and soap scum. The kitchen had only 4 forks, a few spoons and only one small pot. I have filed a complaint and will never use VRBO again. I would take pictures if you arrive and find the place a bit run down. We should have. Don't book this property.
If you're looking at my place, I have been renting my place a long time via air bnb and have an overall rating of 5 stars with 30+ reviews. Fairly new to VRBO and have never once had an issue on any rental site, until now. My place is an adorable, clean place with an ocean view. Unfortunately, I had to charge most of the security deposit because Hilarea and family thrashed my carpets, left poopy diapers and a new-found fly problem in my kitchen, etc. She's clearly upset that they had to pay, but perhaps in the future she'll be a neater guest. I thought I was being nice, not charging anywhere near what new carpets will cost me.
