About Curt & Shirley Miller

We are Curt & Shirley Miller. We live in Albuquerque, NM. We love outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, biking and fishing as well as kayaking and paddle boarding and that's why we love Angel Fire and have a house there. We have 2 grown children.

Curt & Shirley Miller purchased this house in 1989

Why Curt & Shirley Miller chose New Mexico

Since we love the outdoors Angel Fire was a great place to have a house. There is so much to do here. We love it and we know our guests will love it too.

What makes this house unique

We have deer and elk in our yard on a regular basis. We can hear an owl hooting at night. The stars are incredible on a clear night. We are close to the ski area on a main road. The jetted tub is great for after a hard day of skiing or hiking. Our house is passive solar and faces south so we have a very light and bright house that stays very warm in the winter thanks to the sun. The deck is a great place to relax in the summer and experience the sights and sounds of nature.

A refreshing mountain stay

  • 5 of 5

The two of us with our two dogs had a relaxing, refreshing early-June stay in this home in Angel Fire. There was ample room for us all inside and a broad deck outside to enjoy the sound of the wind in the pines and to watch the hummingbirds at the feeder. While we usually like to be farther away from town, the location turned out to be perfect for us: up in the trees but only a half mile from the grocery store; really nice neighbors next door but within yards of the green-space trail system and just a few miles from the Elliott Barker trail system. The mountain peaks were still snowy and early mornings cold, but the days of early June were mild with flowers in bloom everywhere. This wonderful sunny home gave us a base for getting out into the outdoors, and a safe and comfortable place to return to at day's end. We highly recommend it and the lovely, accommodating owners.

Great place at a great location.

  • 5 of 5

My wife, doggie and I wanted to escape TX heat for a week and decided to go to Angel Fire at the last moment. The Miller's were responsive and we easily booked our trip the night before we were set to leave. We couldn't be happier with our stay!

Location is great. It took us 5 minutes to drive from the house to the ski resort parking lot where we caught the lift up to go downhill mountain biking and ride the ziplines. The house is only 1/2 mile from the grocery store. It's about 3 miles from the golf course and stables.

There's a great back deck to sit out and relax on. We watched the hummingbirds fight and feed (who knew they were so aggressive), we watched the baby rabbits scamper about the yard, the chipmunks scurry about, and a deer graze, all from the comfort of the deck.

The house is well stocked. We had plenty of pots, pans, plates, etc to use. Great equipment most places don't have. We used the crockpot to cook one meal. This is a big deal to my wife and I because we like to cook and we found everything we needed.

The house is clean and in good shape. Plenty of information provided for the stay by the owners, even on simple things like what to do if Direct TV goes out, how to reboot it. For those of us without cable/satellite tv, this isn't always apparent.

We've stayed at lots of rentals (we much prefer it to hotels) and we thought this was the best we've stayed at in regards to location/cost/amenities, etc.

Great. Exactly what we expected

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying here. The place had everything you would need. Being from Texas we were concerned about not having an A/C. It was definitely not needed. We saw deer in the yard in the morning and the evening. Awesome stay. Thanks so much
