About The Owner

We are from Atlanta, and love to escape to play or relax at our home at Bear Lake!

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Tuckasegee

Our family has always been drawn to the pristine beauty of the Smokey Mountains. When we visited Bear Lake, the property was merely a vision but we saw ourselves here making lasting memories. We were attracted to all the ammenties, there is something for everyone from hiking, fishing, boating, the pool and golf to relaxing on our back porch by the fire listening to the creek. It has far surpassed all of our expectations, and we travel to Bear Lake as often as we can.

What makes this house unique

Our cottage is on Boulder Creek Lane, a quiet street nestled on the side of the mountain. The cottage backs up to a beautiful mountain creek, and we have built in a path that leads to the creek and a BRAND NEW fire circle. There is plenty of room in our backyard for kids to play, and the back porch with stacked stone fireplace is the greatest escape for the adults. We keep our home stocked with all the comforts of home, including: games, movies, fishing poles, kitchen condiments and snacks, IPOD, etc. At the top of our street is a hiking trail with some of the best views on the property.

Relaxing family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We shared Thanksgiving here with our kids and parents, and had a very relaxing vacation in the beautiful Bear Mountain Resort. Everyone enjoyed the nearby hiking and wood burning fire in the enclosed deck. Perfect spot!!

Beautiful home and location!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Bear Lake. The home was the perfect size for our family of 5. Although we did not eat at the club, the facilities were nice and the menu looked delicious. The outside fireplace was fantastic as was the fire pit. The kids enjoyed "exploring" by the stream behind the house. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all the needed amenities. The personnel at guest services were extremely helpful. The location was very central to all the things we wanted to do. We spent the day in Asheville one day and the next we did a long hike at Great Smoky Mountain NP. We hope to stay here again.

Absolutely perfect! We loved the cottage and enjoyed all there was to do in the area. The cottage was clean, equipped with everything you needed and very comfortable. We stayed with our two kids, Grandma and our chocolate lab. We enjoyed the fire on the back porch and the fire pit. The lodge and lake nearby was awesome! We rented a pontoon boat and kids went tubing and fishing. We had a wonderful and memorable week! I would highly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We just enjoyed a great week staying in this cottage. The house is wonderful & so comfortable. The owner is great about getting back with you if needed. The neighborhood is beautiful with lots of amenities (fishing, boating, pool, golf) & wildlife. We saw a family of turkeys & a momma bear with baby (near the condos by the lake club). We enjoyed having our own fire pit on most nights or sitting out on the screened in porch. Like others have said this cottage feels like a home not a rental. Just be prepared that the area is really hilly & it takes a while to drive places even the lake club. I guess I should have expected that since it is in the mountains. We loved it though & can't wait to go back.

Great week

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to the Smokies since the seventies and our week with all our family at your cottage in Bear Lake Reserve was one of our most enjoyable. Plenty of things to do for the kids as well as the adults. Excellent cottage with many comforts plus the pool and boating at the clubhouse made for a great week for all of us.

Wonderful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many different rental homes over the years. This one is by far the best. You truly feel like you are staying in someone's home. The place was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

There is a lovely wooded view and a creek with a fire pit next to it. It was a very relaxing weekend.

I would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool and the lake.
