About Mark Frost

Born in different areas of Ohio, we met while attending the same University, and even though we had large families and multiple friends, we decided upon graduation to venture South. Over 20 years later, it was still one of the best decisions we ever made. A few years ago we were fortunate to see another dream become a reality, building a small home near the coast. It is our sanctuary of peace, a nature's preserve, and we enjoy every moment we get to spend in this little slice of heaven.

Perfect getaway on the forgotten coast!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four - 2 adults, 6 year old and 3 year old - had an amazing vacation here. The house is immaculate and well appointed. We lacked for nothing whether for the beach, kitchen, or just relaxing (popcorn machine, milkshake maker, movies). We had great weather and used the naturalistic beach in front of the cottage most days. At high tide the water is about 4-5 feet deep; at low tide it leaves exposed sand and tide pools which are great for exploring and finding countless sea creatures. It is very calm and we used the floats and boogie boards provided at the house to relax and play in the water. One day we used a neighborhood kayak to paddle into deeper water which was neat - we saw a shark and some dolphins! We also brought out the fishing poles provided at the cottage to try our luck catching one of the many fish that jump all around!

One day, we explored the Estuary center near Apalachicola and then went to the State Park beach on St. George island which was beautiful!

We had dinner out a couple nights - one night at the Hole in the Wall in Apalachicola and the other at Mad Anthony’s in Panacea. Both were pleasant and memorable!

This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had and everyone was sad to leave! There is enough to explore the area every day, but we chose to mostly stay at the beach 100 yards from the house and have no agenda! Either way, you will have a wonderful time! The House was just perfect and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Awesome vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Mark's house was just perfect. I can't say enough about this spotless, beautiful home! The pictures don't do it justice. The decor is beachy and fun, the furniture is clean and so comfortable. The beds and pillows and bedding were also perfect for sleep after a long day in the sun.

The house has everything you need and is supplied with lots of extras, including beach towels and toys, bikes, and games. The front and back porches are larger than they look in pictures. There's more than enough seating on the porches and even in the backyard, along with a very nice gas grilled and outdoor shower!

A storm came through one even while we were there and knocked out some TV channels, which we didn't even notice until Mark text the next morning and already had a service guy coming that day. We didn't have any other issues, but I'm sure Mark would have been right on it if we had!

Summer Camp is a hidden gem. This was our second vacation here and we loved it. There's no crowds, no traffic, just the beach and ocean full of little sea life to explore... and a beautiful pool! The pool and beach is within walking distance in this well maintained little 'neighborhood'.

We can't wait to visit again! This is our favorite vacation spot!

Thank you Mark for sharing your beach house with us!

Pefect for Nature Lovers and Stargazers

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here! The home was lovely, clean, and had everything we needed for our family getaway. I appreciated the the artistic touches and natural beach themes throughout the home. We really enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of life. The area is slow paced and relaxing and there is a ton of nature to explore. We biked, kayaked, enjoyed the community pool and walked the beach there in front of the house looking for treasures. I highly recommend a visit to St. George island for any beach swimming adventures and a trip to Wakulla Springs for hiking and their manatee boat tour. This is the perfect place to experience rural Florida but still be close enough to get delicious food and some shopping in. We made the drive to Apalachicola and enjoyed the small shops and store fronts there in town. We ate at several places throughout the area and ejoyed them all. It was such a relaxing and restorivte vacation and we hope to make it back to the area and this property again soon. If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, look no further than here!

Fully stocked house that is as lovely as it appears

  • 5 of 5

This home is absolutely as beautiful as it appears in the photos. We were very impressed with how well stocked it was. There is no need to bring anything for the beach with you as the house has just about everything you could want available for your use. We enjoyed the library of movies in the evenings as well as the games that were available. We loved spending our afternoons floating in the neighborhood pool which is just a block away; we basically had it to ourselves every time we went. The kayak shack was well stocked and a nice amenity, too. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet. The beach at the end of the cul-de-sac was a little more "natural" and much skinnier than we were expecting, so we had to adjust our expectations and make a few day trips to St. George Island to use the beach there instead. The house itself was even more impressive than we expected, though, and Mark was extremely responsive to any query I had before or during our stay. We had a wonderful and relaxing week at Summer Camp Beach, which was just what we needed! A great escape from the hustle and bustle of our normal life.

Dark skies, close to a water, clean and well equipped. Exactly what we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice stay- explored the tide pools every evening, stayed up late to stargaze every night (when weather cooperated!) The Milky way put on a good show for us.

The community pool was a nice size with plenty of seating-- the kids loved meeting all the other kids starting in the neighborhood.

The owner had lots of little extra surprises- popcorn machine, milkshake machine, beach towels, board games and DVDs for rainy days, etc.
