About Mark Frost
Born in different areas of Ohio, we met while attending the same University, and even though we had large families and multiple friends, we decided upon graduation to venture South. Over 20 years later, it was still one of the best decisions we ever made. A few years ago we were fortunate to see another dream become a reality, building a small home near the coast. It is our sanctuary of peace, a nature's preserve, and we enjoy every moment we get to spend in this little slice of heaven.

Beautiful home that is equipped with everything you need. Walking distance to a great pool and beach
Our family enjoyed our weekend and plan to return!
Very clean. All the comforts of home.
This is a beautiful home, offering easy beach access. The beach is a natural beach, so there were lots of grasses that had washed up, but that made it fun for “treasure hunting.” Ot is close to the town of Carrabelle where you can get groceries. 30 minute ride to st. George island and Apalachicola. Both are worth the time.
Beautiful & Relaxing!!!
We needed a quick getaway and this place hit the spot. So lovely!
We had a wonderful vacation in Carabella! The house was a short walk to the beach and given the "cool" Florida weather, we basically had the beach to ourselves. Being from WI, it was beautiful weather for us. We spent mornings combing the beach for "treasures" and found conch, starfish, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers and snails. We built sand castles and enjoyed the sunshine and privacy of the community.
We vacationed with children ages 3-5 and visited the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve Nature Center, Leon Sinks Geological Area and St. George Island. The National Estuarine Reserve was a favorite of ours, it was free (donations accepted) and had many fossils, shells, specimens to look at and learn about. We did spend a couple of days at different beaches where we found a larger variety of shells and scenery which was a pleasant change from the beach at the property. We enjoyed ice cream at the Old Time Soda Fountain in Apalachicola but didn't have time to shop downtown. There were many seafood stands/restaurants in the area and each night we tried a different thing. We grilled fresh shrimp and oysters at the property and washed them down with margaritas...it was perfect!
If you are looking for a low-key, relaxing vacation I would highly recommend this property.
I cannot attest to the helpfulness of the owner because we didn't need a single thing! The house had EVERYTHING we could have needed and we had no reason to ask/request anything additional! It was clean, had towels for the house and beach, bikes to use, plenty of cookware, beach chairs, etc.
Best Christmas Vacation Ever!
We absolutely loved staying in this beautiful home and were terribly sad to leave to go back to frigid temperatures in the Midwest! The home is perfectly decorated (and even had some Christmas decorations, which was so nice!), and comes complete with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing (really relaxing!) vacation.
The beach is just steps from the front door, and we made sure to hurry down there every night and morning for stunning sunsets and sunrises. We loved walking out at low tide to explore. We made use of the kayaks, and thought about jumping into the pool, even in December. :) We took day trips to St. George Island State Park (miles and miles of beautiful beaches) and Wakulla Springs State Park (take the boat trip--we saw tons of alligators and even a bush full of baby alligators). We ate at Sopchoppy Pizza, which was super yummy, and one night we grilled fresh shrimp on the grill that is provided with the house.
Everyone we met at Summer Camp Beach was so friendly. All in all, I can't think of anything negative about this place, except that I wish we could have stayed longer. If you are looking for a beautifully relaxing place to make some awesome family memories, this is definitely the place to go! Thanks so much, Mark and family!
Hi Wendy, We are so happy you made wonderful memories at SummerCamp for Christmas. Everyone is so nice there and I glad you experienced that. The kayaks are fun but jumping in the pool in December would have been like those dares up North (almost) for the polar dips we watch on the Weather Channel! Come back anytime! Mark
A beautiful, clean relaxing home
Such a perfect find. We got to explore and enjoy Old Florida and The Forgotten Coast
Thank you Susan - we are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the tip about being a foodie and desires on types of pots and pans as well - we are looking into that now as we agree!
