Family cottage located directly on Lake Michigan, second from the end on a dead-end road in the Camp Arcadia Cottage Colony. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the deck, swimming and beach walks. Michigan's fall colors are beautiful to see here. There are 4 bedrooms (all new mattresses-September 2018), 1 and a half baths on the main level, with a large living room, smallish kitchen, and dining area. In the basement is another half bath and a separate shower, along with a washer and dryer. One of the bedrooms is reached by walking though another - there is a privacy door between the two. A gas grill is also available for your outdoor BBQ needs. Although there are other cottages nearby, there is privacy on the deck and the neighbors are quiet and friendly. Four bikes are available for your use. For an additional daily fee you can use the facilities (tennis, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard and boats) at Camp Arcadia, one block away (Contact Camp Arcadia for rates). Due to a recent revetment and high water levels on Lake Michigan, there is no beach or water access directly from the cottage. However, just a very short stroll away there is beach and swimming access and you can walk for miles on the beach or in the water and even climb some impressive dunes. Many golf courses are within an easy drive including beautiful Arcadia Bluffs. There is a casual restaurant in Arcadia and many more restaurants and shops in nearby Frankfort, Bear Lake, Crystal Mountain, Onekema and Manistee. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore is an easy drive from here along with many nearby dunes and hikes. 7 guests max. No Smoking, no pets.

Quiet, Clean, Restful, Spacious, On the Lake
Went early October for 3 day getaway. Flew into Grand Rapids and drove a few hours north. Could have fit a lot more than the 2 of us in the cottage. Very well thought out cottage with many conveniences and personal owner touchers. It was a home away from home. Thought we would try Michigan side of Lake after many years visiting WI Door County. Michigan side. MI side not as commercial and tourist crowded, water less sulfur tainted, less restaurants and shopping. Area people friendly. Nice owner and no imposing rental contract to sign. Security refund returned promptly. Living room gas heater was sufficient for us and there were space heaters in all bedrooms. Linens and towels provided. No real supper clubs like WI side. Played golf at Arcadia Bluffs only 2 mi away and was difficult but with beautiful views. Dinner there seems like best in area. Hiked Bear Dunes about 20-30 minutes north. Seniors get in free if you have a Federal Park pass. Even with the rain, missed sunsets, and foliage not at prime colors spouse and I had wonderful time together and would return and recommend enthusiastically. Must be great for families in the summer.
Glad you had a nice time despite the weather. Certainly the sunsets are a main feature. Check out Frankfort next time you're in the area. Lots of restaurants and shopping plus a lighthouse to walk out to and lots of sand.
Clean and comfortable with wonderful lake views.
The house is clean and cozy. The views of the lake are wonderful. It is conveniently located for the golfing vacation we had planned. I would certainly consider renting again.
Great golfing at nearby Arcadia Bluffs, and great views and restaurant for the non-golfers!
Classic Cottage on Lake Michigan
Clean and nicely maintained classic cottage. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Walking distance to nice sandy beaches. Decorations, and literature really brought out the history of the cottage, and region.
Short 10 minute drive to nearby Frankfort for restaurants and shopping. Benzonia is 20 minute drive, with more Restaurants, shopping, minigolf.
This is our favorite area of Michigan to visit. Looking forward to our next trip!
Glad you appreciated our collection of books that highlight the area. There's so many interesting places to see and to read about. Happy to have you again!
Lovely beach house had everything we needed and very comfortable. The views are outstanding and so peaceful!! Thank you
Happy you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for leaving the cottage immaculate!
Amazing lake side cottage! The moment you step inside you can feel the stress melting away.
Life at the Pines cottage turned out to be much more than I had expected. Sometimes the pictures of vacation cottages convey a different view than what reality actually delivers. The Pines was the opposite. Pictures can't capture the scerene satisfying feeling of the sun setting over the glimmering waters. All your senses fully engaged in the experience. The cottage was very clean and neat. Tastefully decorated to convey the family's joy of vacationing here over the decades. Sleeping was peaceful and easy. The daily activity options were great! From hiking, biking, boating, and golfing to shopping and sightseeing in the nearby small towns, it's an active day if one so desires. But the complete opposite is fantastic as well. Just step outside the lakeside door and spend hours reading or catching up. All the while listening to the gentle slap of the waves and glimpses of the best mother nature has to offer. Even on a rainy day the cottage welcomes you back inside with plenty of space and options to pass the time. Well I've already said way to much because I want to be sure the cottage will be available the next time I wish to return. And I'll definitely be returning! Great job folks!! Thanks for sharing your cottage and an incredible stay!!
You captured our feelings exactly! So glad you could appreciate the history of the cottage and the feeling of being on the lake. We hope you decide to return!
