Viaggatori, Sotto Le Stelle is a luxury 2 bedroom suite, with two beautifully finished bathrooms in the historic centre of Picinisco, Val di Comino, half way between Rome and Naples, in the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise (1 of top 5 in Europe - Lonely Planet 2011), built on the 1,000 year old walls of one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.
Established as an Albergo Diffuso in 2012, “Sotto Le Stelle” differs from other hotels you may have stayed in. One of the particular features of “Sotto Le Stelle” available to all guests and visitors (details are to be found elsewhere in this website) is our concierge service. Located in the reception, which is itself separate from the hotel and is placed at the entrance to the historic centre of Picinisco. We provide italian breakfast (fruit juice, coffee and cornetto) delivered to your suite as well as a daily cleaning service.
Book this magnificent suite and spend an unforgettable holiday discovering one of the areas of Italy still largely unaltered by time.
Picinisco is one of the hilltop villages located in Val Comino of the Lazio region – a popular tourist resort with a well preserved medieval centre and its 11th & 12th Century castle. Its population is about 1200 (including its neighbouring hamlets), but in the summer months it is much larger as emigrants and their families return. The life of the town revolves around the central piazza (described by D H Lawrence in his book “The Lost Girl” as the “salotto del paese” – the town’s living room) dominated by its focal point and meeting point: the majestic and ancient plane tree, with its woven branches.
From the piazza, perched over the valley, savour the breathtaking panorama in an atmosphere of another time, far from the chaos of the city. Picinisco offers the tourist a great way to learn to relax although, for those who wish, many more active sporting activities can be found. In this wonderful corner “Sotto Le Stelle” offers a unique and exciting way to enjoy the luxury of modern living and the traditions of this medieval Italian hill town with five star facilities – as if you were at home.
From your suite, appreciated the views which extend over the beautiful Val Comino from your private balcony or dedicated terrace or our garden.
