House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
We are the Morison Family. We have 3 children ages 13,10,and 15. We built our home with the love of Santa Barbara Spanish style and the love of the out doors. We love hiking, biking, traveling, and all kinds of sports. Snow skiing and snow boarding fill many Winter days. Summer days, we spend a lot of time at our Lake house on Lake Nacimiento, wake boarding and water skiing!
jill purchased this House in 1998
Why jill chose Riviera
We love the location of our home. It feels as if it is in a serene Oasis far from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet it is close (2 miles) to downtown with restaurants, shopping, and beaches. We love to hike. Many hiking trails are a stones throw away! World class biking, running, and walking outside the front door.
What makes this House unique
There is Santa Barbara's raw natural beauty as far as the eye can see. Viewing all kinds of wildlife is amazing. We are visited regularly by deer, bunnies, and distant howls of coyotes. Bird watching over the canyon is spectacular. Hawks, Eagles, Owls, and even para gliders are a common experience.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Lovely place and wonderful hosts...
Weekend from San Diego
Thanks to Jill for the wonderful stay. The home is beautiful.
We were so impressed with this house! Pictures do not do it justice! The beds were all very comfortable and the outside area is incredible. Highly recommend it -- we would definitely stay here again!
Lovely scenic experience
We very much enjoyed our stay even with some surprising wet weather. The kitchen was very well appointed and we enjoyed cooking. Lots of beautiful walks in the morning as well. All in all a wonderful experience for a family with an 87-year-old father as well. He was able to get around the house well and enjoy fresh eggs from the chicken coop each. Lovely Spanish Villa
The setting and grounds of this house are fabulous. My grandson was so enchanted it was hard to pry him away to go to some of Santa Barbara's attractions. The home has wonderful rustic charm, and it is warm and comfortable with it's unmistakable signs that a family grew up here. The only negative comment I have is that the toilet in the second bathroom did not flush well. We used the powder room instead.
Great estate home with a wonderful view
Thank you Jill for a wonderful weekend stay!
We took our dog with us for a weekend stay and will definitely come back when we visit SB again. The Master bedroom bed is a soft memory foam mattress. The other bedrooms have beds and lofts so you can fit more kids or whomever wants to climb the ladders.
The view from the backyard is just amazing. Our dog roamed the property and met the chickens. She's a 19 month old puppy so that was definitely a new experience. Please note that there's no fence on the estate so if your pupper won't come back when called you may need to keep them leashed. There's a creek and play set and everything you'd want if you bring kids too. We didn't use the hot tub but Jill had it heated for us before we arrived which is a nice touch. Jill was very responsive to some questions we had while staying there.
The kitchen is well stocked and you can definitely cook meals there.
The master bath is very large with whirlpool tub and a shower. There's double sink and a private toilet. I'm not sure if it was an oversight but there was only bar soap and not shampoo/conditioner so bring your own or check with Jill ahead of time. We couldn't seem to find any. This is not a ding just an observation.
In the end I wish we could have stayed for the week and really took advantage of everything the house has to offer. It's sanctuary to be sure :)
