Great Place to Stay!
My wife and I (and our small dog, Poppy) really enjoyed our stay at the Wallingford Garden Bungalow. Nice neighborhood, close to great shopping and downtown is not many minutes away. Great parking in the driveway which is also close to the front door making the moving of suitcases in and out a breeze. The house is clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. The yard is not only lovely, it is secure with fencing so there are no gaps for a small dog to escape! Dan, the owner is super-conscientious, communicative and thoughtful. We will definitely choose it again when we need a place to stay in Seattle. Highly recommend! Aaron and Katy Burgess
Great location, clean comfortable home
We were very happy with our stay. The location was perfect and our dog was very welcome. I definitely recommend it.
Literally, BEST spot in Seattle!!
Seriously, I have stayed in several VRBOs and this is absolutely my favorite. It will be my go-to stay when traveling in Seattle, so I write this recommendation with a small amount of reluctance because now I might have a hard time reserving for the future!
First, the location is terrific - easy to get to downtown, the University, and assorted cool areas in the north end. It's a quiet residential area. One of the most special features of this home is the gorgeous yard. You don't often see a significant piece of grass in central urban areas. The owners clearly know about gardening and have designed a beautiful landscape. There are raised herb beds and carefully tended bushes, trees and flowers around the whole yard. There is a sizeable front porch where we sat for an evening and just enjoyed the pleasant surroundings. There is also a portable firepit which was another evening's pleasure for my husband and myself. There is a cool covered area next to the grass, umbrellaed by vining kiwi trees (!) that is another nice place to hang out, especially in the hanging chair-hammock thingy. And, if that's not enough, there is a super cool back area with built-in charcoal barbecue, gas barbecue and table to enjoy an outdoor meal.
Inside, the house is fabulous. It's a good size for two people and would be fine for four also, using the futon in the living room. It is really nicely and cleverly appointed. Every single thing has clearly been chosen carefully and is intriguing to investigate. Assorted magazines, books and games are available in addition to a projector t.v. and good sound system that is also run to the seating area on the front porch.
The bed is really comfy; there is a large walk-in closet and the bathroom, while not large, has been designed to maximize space. If you like to cook there is everything you could possibly want from a gorgeous thick tree plank cutting board to every kind of pot and pan, and of course a coffee grinder.
I also really appreciated the notes that were around in assorted places that explained how to work things.
Finally, while we didn't meet, Dan was a great communicator and very helpful and friendly before, during and after our stay.
I cannot imagine one single thing that anyone would not love about this home. Enjoy! (But please leave some times for me to come back! 😄)
Very welcoming - perfect bungalow!
Great property and owner! Thank you Dan!
Lovely yard and charming cottage
I was lucky enough to spend three weeks staying in this little gem of a house.
The Wallingford Rance is the perfect place to stay - especially if you like to walk to fantastic restaurants and delish coffee houses. There is even a wonderful front porch to watch the world wander by. The owners were very responsive -- always available to answer questions and help out with small requests.
I highly recommend this place!
