Great small house!
The little house has everything that you need. It was in a quiet neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was wonderful.
We would gladly stay here again if we are in the area.
We arrived in the dark and it was a little hard to find, so we would recommend arriving in the daytime.
Perfect for weekend away
Very friendly hosts, received useful information about local amenities, property as described, amazing neighborhood, highly recommended
Stunning conversion in the prettiest village
We spent a lovely long weekend at The Little House with our young son. The accommodation was a stunning conversion, very clean and the perfect size for the three of us. Our son especially loved his bed on the mezzanine level! Highly recommend.
The Little House
We had a perfect stay in a beautiful location. The accommodation had everything we needed and was the perfect size for a stay with our toddler (the neighbouring cows were an added bonus).
Lovely place to stay
We had a lovely couple of nights here. After being let down with another holiday, we contacted Jane with less than 24 hours to go and nothing was too much trouble. Jane is a great host, highly recommend this place
A stunning converted barn in a lovely setting.
We have had a fantastic week in Mells. The accommodation was perfect- full of character , but very modern, clean and with great facilities. The owner , Jane who lives next door, was friendly and helpful. The village of Mells , which you can walk to in a few minutes , has a beautiful walled garden that serves delicious lunches. Mells also has a charming pub, The Talbot that does a great Sunday lunch! We chatted to lots of friendly locals , bought homemade jam and got good advice on trips out! E.g The gardens at Stourton, about a 30 min drive away are gorgeous and free after 6pm. Wells is a wonderful city to visit. The cathedral is magnificent, and the free guided tour a must. The Roman Baths and Pump Room at Bath are super. We did the Romans to Georgians package that gives you entry to the Baths and a delicious 3 course dinner . The live piano music at The Pump Rooms was the perfect end to a great week.
The property is situated in the village of Mells a largely unspoilt Somerset village built mainly of Bath stone. In the immediate area is the local market town, from which has markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Also close by is the historic city of Wells and its magnificent cathedral, hippie heaven Glastonbury, Street (famous for its shopping village), and Longleat House, garden and wildlife park. The Roman city of Bath is about 30 minutes and there is a very good park and ride scheme in operation. There is a lot to see in Bath - the Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms, the Assembly Rooms, the Costume Museum and the excellent shopping.
Further afield, Bristol is about one hours drive, the south coast and its lovely beaches and coastal villages is about 1-2 hours, and the cathedral city of Salisbury about one hour away.
