Why Eric Brown chose Bremen
A cottage 30' from the ocean with a beautiful view is hard to find. If you appreciate solitude, simplicity and beauty, you will love this property.

Great Idillic Location
Perfect setting to enjoy nature. We loved our stay and the many nearby seafood locations serving the finest from local waters.
Wonderful waterfront location
This is a great waterfront location with a dock! A motor for the boat was the only thing missing. The cottage is conveniently located and only about 10 minutes from lobster and 20 minutes to town. Its located at end of a dead end road so no traffic. We found it to be a bit to close to the neighbors but that would not be an issue if we didn’t have dogs. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable. Almost every day we were able to see the resident seal fishing for his/her dinner. The only reason I did not provide 5 stars is that it wouldn’t be fair to the place we stayed last year which was better suited for us. Though no TV, streaming NetFlix worked fine. All in all it was great place and was everthing the description says it is.
A Rare Find!
This cottage was home for a week and fulfilled all hopes of a restful vacation with lots of opportunity for adventure. Wildlife sightings were bountiful and sometimes up-close and personal, as with the chipmunk who breakfasted on blueberries with us one morning. Long walks on shaded roads yielded bald eagles and bunnies. Nearby towns, worth exploring on their own account, provided excellent fresh seafood, the company of locals, intriguing gift shops, and the all-important Reny's for emergency supplies.
The house itself is comfortable, with picture perfect views on a secluded cove. The owners were ideally responsive and seemed to genuinely want us to enjoy ourselves. They provisioned the house in ways you rarely see in rentals, with everyday essentials so you don't have to find ways to make do. I would come again in a heartbeat.
Great little cottage in a wonderful setting, a few improvements for readers would be great
The house is right on the water and that can't be beat. It was very clean and every little thing you might need is there. Two things that would have made our stay a lot nicer on certain days are: a fold down awning over the sitting part of the deck (too hot and too much glare to sit outside reading or just looking at the water on several days); and better lighting for readers in the evenings or on rainy days. The couch has 2 lights - one at either end - but was not comfortable for 2 people for very long. Neither easy chair had reading lights. It seems like it would be simple to put a floor reading lamp next to the rocking chair and perhaps move the chairs so they could share a reading light. The overhead lights just don't do it for reading.
We appreciated having the beds made up when we arrived, and finding some spring water, milk, and butter in the fridge.
One more thing: if you plan to go out in the skiff, you should realize there is no anchor so if you have one you might want to bring it. We didn't feel we could go far, even though we brought our own outboard, because we didn't feel safe without an anchor. There are life jackets and a bailer, however. Probably okay if you are just rowing as you could row back as far as you went out, just don't lose an oar! We realize most people are fine with the skiff the way it is, so maybe we are just nervous old people.
Great Family Vacation
We loved everything about our stay at the cottage in Bremen, Maine. The location allowed us to get out on the water every day. We saw seals, eagles, ospreys, the resident mink, fox, and many other creatures from the deck of the cottage or from our kayaks. We enjoyed making meals at the cottage, and we also found several good restaurants not too far from where we were staying. In the evenings we witnessed beautiful sunsets and the played cards and other games.
Mr. Brown provided everything we needed at the cottage and was available to answer any questions throughout our stay. We look forward to our next stay in Bremen.
This was our second stay at the cottage and my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 small children + dog) absolutely love it. The view is fantastic and the wildlife (bald eagles, seals, dolphins, mink, etc.) that can be seen from the deck is amazing. The kids loved picking wild blueberries in the yard. The cottage is centrally located and the owner is very accomodating and nice to work with. We already booked again for next summer!
