Cute little cottage nestled in the rainforest, outside Volcanoes National Park
What's happening in Volcano?
Volcano Village is a small town just Hilo side of Volcanoes National Park. We are typically upwind and get much less vog (volcanic fog) than areas west and south of the park, including Kona! We are 22 miles, a 45 minute drive, and 3,200 feet in elevation from the fissures you are seeing on TV. There is almost zero chance of lava fissures appearing in Volcano. While the park is the major attraction, Volcano is a great resting spot for seeing the east side of the island with it's rainforest, orchid gardens, winery, hiking trails, farmers markets -- it's simply an amazing place. We hope you will come discover it for yourself!
Now, a little about the house -- it's the perfect little cottage for a Big Island adventure!
You will love our cozy little home, snuggled in the beautiful Ohia forest. We are just down the road from the Village with its restaurants and Sunday Farmers Market, & 5 minutes from Volcanoes National Park.
Puolani Iki gives you just enough room to settle in and recover from your day hiking and exploring the east side of the Big Island. With a comfy living room/full kitchen, master bedroom, and spacious bath, this little house provides everything you need for a few nights in the rainforest!
The master bedroom has one very comfortable king size bed with memory foam topper, and the couch in the living room can comfortably accomodate a child or adult under 6' tall. Extra linens and plenty of blankets are provided.
We pride ourselves on thinking of the details and giving you something just a little extra, but if you are looking for 5-star luxury accommodations, this probably isn’t the place for you. If you want your own adorable, private cottage nestled into the rainforest, we would love to have you stay with us!
If you are bringing a little one with you, please let us know so we can provide a pack and play and high chair - we want your stay to be amazing AND relaxing!

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We live in Volcano and would love to welcome you to your new home. Our past interaction with guests has ranged from sharing dinner and wine, to hardly seeing them at all! Wherever you fall on the spectrum, if you need anything during your stay, we're just a phone call or text away.
Pualani Iki is located in a quiet neighborhood 35 minutes from Hilo and about 2 hours from Kona.
Just across the highway and up the road is Volcano Village where you will find several restaurants, a community center, Volcano Art Gallery, and the wonderful early morning Sunday Volcano Farmers Market. 5 minutes up Highway 11 is the entrance to Volcanoes National Park and the bubbling Kilauea Crater.
This is a big island and a rental car is required to get the most out of your experience.

Clean and tidy interior with lots of amenities that are VERY helpful in a very small town. Exactly what you would expect out of a little bungalow in the woods. Nice owners. Nice stay.
Wonderful little cabin in the jungle. It is very convenient to Volcanoes National Park. You have everything you need to cook, but it is a quick drive to restaurants. We had lots of privacy. We were greeted with a plate of wonderful chocolate macadamia cookies and a bottle of wine. Amazing deal for the price. Note that there is very little in the way of grocery stores in the area, so stock up if you want to do much cooking. Coffee, pancake mix, salt, pepper, olive oil and two local eggs are provided. As expected in a National Park area restaurant prices are on the high side.
My husband, 9-year-old son and I stayed here a few nights to see the sights nearby. We had everything we needed (and more), and the owners were quick to reply with any questions. The neighbourhood was quiet, and great for accessing the park. Wifi worked flawlessly. We would stay again.
Our stay was above expectation in this beautiful, warm and well located little house!!! Owners are amazing :)
Cozy Stay in Volcano!
I stayed with my family at this location in Volcano for three nights. We had such a busy itinerary and whether we were coming back from snorkeling, biking, or sweaty hikes through the lava fields - this place was a comfort to come home to. It met every need we had and greatly exceeded our expectations- so much so that I took an extra business card to pass out to some traveling friends! Enjoy your stay!
Nice island Getaway
The house was just as shown in the pictures provided. My boyfriend and I enjoy all it had to offer. With all the miscellaneous things we couldn't think of, they had! Just a great place at an awesome price!!
