If for some reason I have missed anything or you are unhappy I urge you to contact me immediately so I may resolve the issue. I am very people friendly and I want everyone to enjoy their stay in Wilmington. I am a retired American Airlines employee. I have traveled to more than 35 countries and love to learn about different cultures and their food.
Sean Dougherty purchased this House in 2006
Why Sean Dougherty chose Riverfront
From the first day I saw this property I knew it was special. It wasn't for sale so I contact the owners and after a little negotiating they sold it to me. I love its location to everything downtown and the beaches. It was built around 1910 but I have tried to retain some of its original charm when I did the renovations.
What makes this House unique
Stay right downtown with locals and really get a feel for Wilmington and its Southern charm.

Cozy and welcoming. Would go back anytime!
This house was perfect for what my family was looking for. It was very convenient to downtown, within walking distance, and a short drive to Wrightsville Beach / Johnny Mercer Pier. We enjoyed the sunset walks along the river front and shopping and restaurants around town. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable to relax in after long hot days at the beach. We will be returning to Wilmington next year and will happily return to this home for our stay.
The house was wonderful! Our family loved our stay and the property. The neighborhood is so cute and close to downtown and everything we needed.
Southern charm right outside of downtown
We stayed with another couple and could have easily added a third couple in the extra bedroom. The place was so cute and perfectly fit our needs. Great kitchen, comfy beds, great AC, clean bathroom, and well decorated. We walked to and from downtown several times (about 15 min walk) because it was so pleasant outside. Cheap Uber if that is helpful too! Definitely would stay again. Great value
We had a great experience. From booking to checking out. Couldn’t have gone smoother.
Lovely house. Anything you might need or may have forgotten was there. Walking distance to many things. Clean and well maintained.
Nice location by Arts District
The property has an accurate description and photos. Location is good and feels safe around to walk. It is located by the Arts District. Appears as an area in process of been renovated.Location is about 20 mins from Wrightsville Beach and 30 mins from Carolina Beach. House is close but not sure if actually downtown. to main downtown sights is about 15-20 minutes walking, which is not bad. Rather is by the arts district which has restaurants, bakery, coffee shops and bars close by.
Free Parking on street in front of house worked quite well.
The owner is very good communicating back. And always quickly.
Home is very comfortable for 6 people. We appreciated the washer/dryer in property. Actually used the dryer couple of times.
All the basics are well covered:eg clean towels, sheets, etc.
Owner was very accommodating at check-in which very was appreciated. But was very strict at checkout at 11am. I was denied to checkout 11.30am, which will be one of the only cons. Although in fairness I didn’t request this on advance.
Home interior has a nice decor with comfy sofas and a tv with cable tv and multiple DVDs. The backyard is large but simple.
The AC works which is very important. Although is a bit slow to cool down. But home also has several fans which can also be used.
Restroom is only one which can be a bit of an issue for a large group (6 in our case). But it was clean and ok size.
Price was reasonable considering we booked late to stay through the 4th of July.
Home certainly recommended.
The pictures of the inside didn't do it justice! Beautiful home with lots of little amenities that were wonderful. Walking distance to downtown and it was perfect for us! 2 nights in this home was cheaper than 2 nights in a hotel on the riverfront! Very thankful to Sean for sharing his home!
