Renovated from a floating logging camp, Alaska Island Adventures a remote Wilderness and Fishing Lodge located off the Prince of Wales Island in the Chomondeley Sound area can accommodate up to (10) guests comfortably, providing an exclusive family style atmosphere.
The lodging facility consists of four cabins for guest use:
• Two Sleeping Cabins with a total of (10) guest rooms that provide a warm, comfortable and cozy place to finish the day. Each
sleeping cabin also has a common living area with a wood burning stove, and a shared bathroom facility.
• A large fully equipped kitchen and dining hall Cabin where you'll be able to cook and enjoy your meals while telling tales about
our adventurous day.
• The Caretakers Commons Cabin or "meeting place" that offers a great area to mingle and relax after a great day of fun filled
adventure and large deck areas for outside enjoyment.
Along with use of the lodging facility you will also have access to (2) skiffs, (7) kayaks, salt water fishing gear, boating safety gear and a fish cleaning/processing area to utilize for your daily adventure excursions. An upgrade option is available for the lodge's 24" Hewescraft boat if desired. A fuel allotment of 10 gal/boat/daily is included. Additional fuel needs over the allotment will be at an additional cost to the guest...Have your own boat? Bring It!, there's plenty of dock space.
Being in a remote location also means the Lodge is removed from all "city" amenities and utilities and that you will be experiencing the life of “living off grid” while at Alaska Island Adventures.
Alaska Island Adventures is a fully self-sustainable lodge with our power and electricity supplied by solar power with generator back, our fresh water is via rain catchment and nearby stream waters that then goes through a purification process system and our waste water is taken care of by an engineered state approved containment system.
Alaska Island Adventures currently promotes an “unplugged” ambiance of tranquility and we currently do not have access to cell phone or the internet services. Cell service however, is available depending on your service provider, within a 5-10-minute boat ride from the Lodge for those who do need to get connected.
As a convenience for our guests we do have an onsite caretaker team to make sure the lodging facility is running smoothly and to assist our guests with questions and needs that may arise.
Please note access to the Lodge is by float plane (a short 20-25 min. flight from Ketchikan) and will need to be arranged and paid for by the guests. (We will be happy to supply you with a list of providers).
