Built in 1892 and restored in 2014, this graceful building in Great Barrington (Village of Housatonic) has two bedrooms, two baths, an open living room, kitchen and dining area and a deck over the garden. The building is set back from the road — Main Street, which offers easy access to the library, post office, liquor store, several art galleries, cafés, yoga and dance studios and a nationally celebrated bakery. The living space opens onto five acres of land, which leads to trails in the woods and strolls through town. The square footage of the living space is 1800 sq. ft.

About Sandy Sanderson
We love historic properties, proximity to cultural events and outdoor activities — food, movies, theatre, hiking, music and travel.
Sandy Sanderson purchased this Farmhouse in 2003
Why Sandy Sanderson chose Housatonic
This property attracted us by its location and architectural significance. It's located on 5 acres of quiet, peaceful land, in an artful village with good food, art galleries, a library and other convenient amenities. The building has the original carriage elevator, hay loft, woodwork, and high ceilings, all of which we restored to its original beauty.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The Village of Housatonic is at the very center of Berkshire County — 15 minutes to Tanglewood and 15 minutes to skiing. There is theatre and hiking all around us, music and other cultural events all year. We are near colleges — Williams and Bard, and enjoy the benefits of a community that is rich with local residents, farmers and tradespeople, a long history of writers, thinkers and educators transplanted from New York, Boston and around the world.

Housatonic offers beauty, quiet, convenience, artful elegance and fun.
