Great house, not so great neighborhood

  • 3 of 5

The place is clean and had plenty of space. Good location too. It also has a Security system, which it needs. On Friday and Saturday nights there were large groups of wild-looking people hanging out in the street and we actually saw an exchange of money, for what I expect was a drug deal. Other nights were quiet and calm.

We didn’t have any trouble and when I accidentally set off the alarm, a police officer was there in 15 minutes, so I expect it is pretty safe for renters but I wouldn’t want any small kids playing outside. Even though it was ok and no one gave us any trouble, it still was something I wish I had seen in the reviews. Some people would be ok with this, others not so much.

Would stay again

  • 5 of 5

Came down with the kids for a couple days during spring break. The area reminds me a lot of how Nashville is right now, neighborhoods are improving and rebuilding but still a few "rough" areas. Some people might think the area could have a few rough places but overall we felt safe. The property was fenced in and it has a very up to date security system. Its very close to all the main attractions which is great. Has a very good size yard. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was very homey

  • 3 of 5

The home was nice, I wish we would have had a view of the neighborhood. A couple in the apartment said hello, but we were left alone. The home had a security system, which we liked. We stayed in at night so the living room was a little small for five adults. The two porches were very nice. My sister cleans homes for a living and felt the vents should have been cleaned. The upstairs shower should have a perminent rod, not a spring rod.. Mattresses should be firmer.

Great House, not a great area

  • 3 of 5

The house is wonderful. We had everything we needed for our long weekend staying there. We visited the Coca-Cola Museum, Zoo Atlanta, the Aquarium, and the Natural History Museum. It was only a short drive to all those places. There is also the bus system that stops right and the end of the road just a few feet away. We didn't want to go out to eat so we had someone deliver us food every night. Lots of very good places to eat nice and close. The only problems we had were at night, it got REALLY loud. At midnight people would be playing music super loud and yelling. If you aren't visiting with kids this might not bother you but my 5 year old and 1 year old needed sleep after these crazy days. No one ever bothered us though and the house is very secure. Overall it was a good stay and Amber was very nice and quick to respond to our messages.

Gorgous house in Mechanicsville

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at this house. The old world charm and modern amenities in the downstairs bathroom and kitchen were nice. The kids also loved playing outside and made new friends with the neighbors next door. The grill on the back deck was a nice feature and the yard is big enough that the kids could play freely. The neighborhood itself is going through gentrification with many brand new homes interspersed with older historical homes but overall we felt safe. Also, the house has flood lighting surrounding the perimeter and there is a brand new security system.

We plan to stay here again if we come back to Atlanta.
