A cozy apartment on the street level of a comfortable 19th century South End townhouse. The unit offers a cheery front-facing room (which includes a full kitchen area along one wall, a living room area with a full size sleep sofa, and a small dining area next to the front windows), a bath, and a bedroom with a queen bed. It is situated about 4 steps below ground level in the front with full windows, and one level above ground in the back at the bedroom. There are also two other furnished apartments and one guest room available in the same townhouse for larger parties. Just 5-10 minutes from the Back Bay subway station and Copley Square and a few blocks to trendy Tremont Street with many of the city’s hottest restaurants. It is a short walk to the Silver Line transit to downtown, South Station, the Boston Convention Center, and Logan Airport. All linens and kitchen items are included. Note: there is a slight noise in winter when the heat is on.

In winter we rent this apartment monthly unless it is short notice.

Charming basement apartment

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming apartment. It was centrally located, close to transport and many nice restaurants. The living room and bathroom are in need of a bit of a spruce up, but overall it was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The main bed was extremely comfortable. Julia was a delightful host and was helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Boston.

Quaint, private, good location

This was a perfect distance between Fenway and the downtown / Quincy Market area. We walked a ton, but it was a blast! Lots of local bars and restaurants surrounding. It's the underground/basement area of this adorable townhome in Boston. Has a full kitchen and plenty of room. Futon was nice as well. Overall, great place to stay and we hope to come back.

It is a basement unit.

Julia is a very nice lady with great communication. I had no idea it was in a basement of a building so the bed room has almost no light. Shampoo will not be provided . Make sure you stop at grocery store and buy basics. There was no coffe or oil . I suggest bringing your own towel. Towels were old and did not smell fresh. Location is very good . close to everything and it is a nice residential area.

Owner's Response: We are perplexed at this review. Julia provides all the essentials accept shampoo but when asked she provided the shampoo for her. The towels get recycled and donated regularly and ALWAYS washed for each guest. We advertise this apartment below grade level. It is not the basement. There is a basement below it. I Marie

Good, homey, well situtated home-away from home

The basement apartment was perfect for the couple days I was in Boston taking my daughter to college. She slept comfortably on the futon in the living space, while I had the bedroom. The apartment is a little tattered around the edges, but comfortable and clean. Julia was a lovely host and we really enjoyed the south end.

We have no complaints, enjoyed a great stay at this property! We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go from here. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Minimum $100 fee. 1/2 month security deposit ($500 if just one month rental)

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
