Overview

About the property

The Mana Kai Maui Resort has been a fan favorite condo property in South Maui for decades. The property is so highly praised because of its superb location at the start of Keawakapu Beach. The white sand beach stretches for over a mile, right into Wailea, ending in front of the high-end Andaz Resort. Guests can choose to walk along the great beach, catch some rays, or snorkel right in front of the property (where turtles are often spotted).

Besides the beachfront location, guests will enjoy a slew of on-site amenities. For starters, the private beachfront pool is a great option for taking a refreshing dip while you still enjoy views of ocean and beachgoers. The ground floor open-air restaurant overlooking Keawakapu Beach enjoys views that are just as amazing as the food. The Five Palms Restaurant is famous for having one of the most popular happy hours on Maui. Pull up a chair at the bar for a tropical cocktail! Other onsite amenities include a deli/general store where you can pick up snacks for the beach, a surf shack where you can rent stand up paddle boards, and even an activity desk for booking all your favorite Maui adventures.

This one bedroom condo is 604 square feet and has ocean views from your private lanai, living room, and bedroom. Take advantage of the full kitchen to prepare breakfasts and lunches. There is King bed in the master bedroom and sofa can fold into a bed to sleep up to 4 total guests. There is also free WiFi and air conditioning in this condo. Each floor at the Mana Kai has washing machines, so you can conveniently do laundry nearby.

This condo is professionally managed by an on-island vacation rental company. All responses to inquiries will come from them.

This was an awesome place to stay. We enjoyed the close proximity to the pool/beach and the unit was very clean/well kept. Thank you!

Paradise on earth

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 4 year old daughter stayed at this condo for 5 days in August and it was so amazing, we didn't want to leave! The condo itself seemed newly renovated and was very clean with a well-stocked kitchen. It looks even nicer in person than in the pictures. It had beach chairs, boogie boards and sand toys in the closet and the TV was equipped with Netflix through the DVD player. We loved that at night we could put our daughter to bed and close the doors while we hung out on the lanai or in the living room. The highlight was the breathtaking view off of the lanai (if the owners would add a couple of more cushy, loungier chairs to sit in that would make it even better!). The Mana Kai faces Keawakapu Beach which is the most beautiful stretch of the softest white sand I have ever felt. It also has a great reef for beginner snorkelers right off the property. We took our daughter snorkeling every morning and saw sea turtles, eels, parrot fish, humahumanukanukaapuaa and other tropical fish. It is a public beach, but never got crowded the whole time we were there. The area did tend to get windy in the afternoons, so we would go to the pool or head to Wailea to Makena beach (also a great public beach) where it was calmer. Although the Mana Kai is an older property, it seems recently renovated and very well kept. I saw people cleaning the BBQ grills every day and the common areas were also very clean. We ate lunch at the onsite restaurant one day, but while it has a nice view, we found it expensive with average food. Not a big deal though since there are a lot of good restaurants nearby. We even ordered in a few dinners and ate on our lanai so we could enjoy the amazing view. There is service called Hopper Maui that will deliver from restaurants. Although the pool is somewhat small, this wasn't a problem for us as it was never crowded with plenty of chairs. Plus, you have such an awesome beach right there, you don't really need the pool. We also loved sitting in lounge chairs on the grass lawn watching the sunset every night. Absolutely stunning. Overall, you can't go wrong booking this condo -- great property, great location, amazing view. Can't wait to go back!

always nice but getting a bit to noisy anymore

  • 3 of 5

I have been to maui 35 times in the last 40 years. Always stayed at Mana Kai. The facilities are top notch and Kaewakapu beach is the bomb however... In the last several years the once best kept secret is no more. Condo visitors from other places now flock the beach. Weekends are a blow out...very noisy. The green lawn on the Mana Kai property which once was restricted to guest only is now a free for all for anyone and who wind up using the lounge chairs, showers and pool as well. Competing boom boxes and screaming children make for a very non-relaxing day. Also noise starts at 7 AM with banging trash cans and or lawn care. The amount of dogs wondering the beach and facility has grown as well. Owners let the animals run free doing their "business" where ever.

My wife and I will be looking for a quieter location on the next visit.

Owner's Response: Mahalo for your frequent stays at the Mana Kai over the past 40 years. You are correct that it is a great spot to vacation on the island! It sounds like all your concerns were with how crowded the beach was while you were there. I hope you found the condo itself a great option! All beaches and coastlines on Maui are open to the public, but there is a grass lawn in front of the Mana Kai (up to the tiki torches) that is private property for the Mana Kai, and reserved exclusively for resort guests. This is the first time we have heard a guest mention the public using this private space. We will keep an eye on this to see may sure it doesn't become a trend. Mahalo, Condominium Rentals Hawaii
