3 bed 3 bath cabin tucked in wooded lodge setting yet close to everything
About Daniel Montgomery
I am a single dad with 7 children. I live in the nearby Smoky Mountain area. After moving here 10 years ago, I feel in love with the cabin life. Cabins in this area are such an enjoyment and really do add to ones quality of life. I own 4 cabins in the area. They were each carefully chosen for their own unique offerings. I strive to provide the very same feeling to each guest that I have when staying at the cabins. Relax, have fun and enjoy life. "The mountains are calling"
Daniel Montgomery purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Daniel Montgomery chose Chalet Village
From the first time I walked into this cabin, I felt like I was in a true mountain lodge. I thought that if I had never been to the Smoky Mountains before, this is what I would imagine it to be.The archtecture is an A-frame with large wooden beams, open floor plan, plenty of high ceilings and windows and 2 large mountain stone fireplaces. All of this in a wooded mountain of foilage. this is what a mountain vacation place is suppose to be like!
What makes this Cabin unique
The overall feel of being in a cabin that was built to be in the mountains!

We all had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Amenities were terrific. We were even visited by momma bear and her three Cubs while we were there.
Loving Mountain Lodge
My group included 6 adults, 2 children, and 1 infant. Mountain Lodge more than met our needs! We had plenty of together room, but also private sleeping areas. The kitchen was fully furnished, even though we did not use it. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day at Dollywood, zip lining, or rafting. The owner, was personal and on top of any questions we had.
The cabin was decorated in a rustic, cabin like theme that was just what we expected. The property is older but modernized to meet needs of today’s travelers. Our grands loved the cabin and thought it was the neatest place ever, with pool table, chess, checkers, and air hockey. The downstairs area allowed my daughter to have her entire family on one level.
I guess the highlight of our trip was seeing the mama black bear and her 4 cubs scampering through the property. I have visited the mountains many times, but never had the opportunity to see a bear in the wild. The bears made everyone’s trip complete!
I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a true mountain experience, one that is rustic, quaint, but still with all the modern amenities and close to the action of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Great place to relax
The drive up was very winding and driveway was a little difficult to see in dark, to enter in from road. Driveway has plenty of room but for two vehicles one will be on an incline. The cabin was clean and was well stocked. We enjoyed the layout and all had plenty of room. We had a party of 2 children and 4 adults. I had read the reviews and yes the floors are squeaky, more than normal...but it did not bother us. My husband and I slept downstairs in the king size bed, it was very comfortable, however other beds were hard. The furniture was very comfortable to lounge in after a long day. I would suggest an icemake in refrigerator. But over all we enjoyed it, after we got more familiar with roads.
Convenient, peaceful location with ample space for our group of 10.
It’s was we expected to find when we said, “Let’s stay in a cabin in the mountains!” We enjoyed the peaceful Mountain view from the deck with coffee every morning and appreciated the short drive into town ($5 parking right when you get into Gatlinburg by the Ober Tram). The cabin has charm (along with some squeaky floors maybe) but we comfortably slept our family of 10. It’s well furnished and stocked with all the kitchen amenities needed to cook full meals. We had a wonderful stay. Once during our 6 day stay we saw a momma bear and her 3 cubs come right across the driveway down the lower section of the patio and off into the thicker wooded area. For us it was one of the best parts of the trip though we were always mindful we were in bear country and definitely kept us alert!
Great family experience
Very comfortable for 8 people. Game room on lowest floor was a hit for the kids. Easy to find, clean and owner checked on us to make sure all was well.
Not very comfortable
The floors are so thin when somebody walks makes loud irritating noise
made it hard for us sleep. The building is very old. There are bears running all around the building scary
I normally do not comment on reviews. But a 2 star, seriously! The 2 reasons given were a squeak in the floor and seeing bears! Many reviews and most all 5 stars with a few 4's. The description reads an old Mountain Lodge in the woods. I as well as many other guest feel like a squeak in the staircase or floor is part of the character of an old mountain lodge. as far as bears are concerned I get countless comments from guests saying they say a bear and it made their trip. Perhaps this guest should read the description before booking a cabin. Part of being in the woods is being around wildlife. I suggest this guest rent a concrete condo in the middle of town close to shopping and go carts.
So much to do and see. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dollywood Theme Park, Splash Country Water Park, Many live Shows, Miniature Golf, Go Cart Racing, Hiking, Fishing, Great Outlet shopping, Arts and Crafts community, Golf, Minor League Baseball, Horseback Riding and many great Reastaurants!
