Cabin, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 6 (6 adults)
Experience the simple joys of summer in Maine at this one-bedroom (plus a loft) Windham cabin, a cozy and atmospheric retreat with lovely views of Sebago Lake Basin, a public dock and mooring for your use near the beach, and a wonderful location just a few steps from a sun-splashed beach.
Beautifully secluded in Windham's lush woodlands, this two-level cottage offers quiet lakeview living and a taste of in-town convenience. You'll be only one block from a sandy beach and boat launch on Sebago Lake Basin; one mile from Walmart, Hannaford Supermarket, Dunkin Donuts, and other shops and restaurants; and 17 miles north of downtown Portland.
Where the cabin's exterior is charming and rustic, the interior living space is bright and comfortable, featuring hardwood floors and white furnishings. Come home from a day of fishing, swimming, and boating to flip on the portable air conditioner, curl up on the futon with a good book, or log into your Roku account to watch a few shows on the flatscreen cable TV.
Wake your loved ones each morning with the aroma of sizzling bacon and blueberry pancakes, which you can prepare with ease in the full kitchen. Brew a fresh pot of coffee, use the standard appliances to create a homemade feast, and sit down for a leisurely breakfast at the dining room table for six.
Pack up the six provided beach chairs and spend the day on the sand at Sebabo Lake Basin, where you can sunbathe and swim in the warm westerly sunshine. Bring along a tandem kayak to launch from the dock, and return home at noon for burgers, salmon, and fresh lake trout on the gas grill. There's even a picnic table out back for afternoon barbecues among the trees.
Take the rest of the day to play board games in the yard or out on the front porch - both of which have been treated to be mosquito-free. Use the WiFi to plan the next day's adventures and end the evening with S'mores, ghost stories, and the making of new memories around the firepit in the backyard.
With one bedroom, a loft, and one full bathroom, It's Jest a Camp will accommodate as many as six guests. The bedroom and the loft space have a set of twin beds apiece, which can also be pushed together to form two king-size beds (bedding is available for both sizes). A futon is provided in the living room, and a baby gate is on hand to keep your little ones secure.
Whether you're an annual vacationer in Maine or experiencing the wonders of New England for the first time, you'll fall in love with the charm and convenience of Windham. Choose to immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty of Sebago Lake, or take a short drive to reach movie theaters, restaurants, and family-friendly facilities such as Seacoast Adventure, which offers mini-golf, go-karts, tubing, and so much more.
Take a morning drive 14 miles northwest to explore Sebago Lake State Park, a 1,400-acre expanse near the foothills of the White Mountains with gorgeous beaches, ponds, woodlands, and trails to explore in every season. You'll also be just 17 miles from the heart of downtown Portland, where you can take walks along the Old Port and snack on fantastic lobster rolls from Eventide Oyster Co.

About Vacasa, ME - Acadia Office
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers. Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team. Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Good for family vacation
The house is located in a secluded place, very close to the lake. The shopping center is within a mile. The description on site is very accurate. You will have everything you need. But be aware, it's a cabin, not a hotel.
We found the bedroom very small, and single beds were uncomfortable. As a mature couple we needed more comfort.
Good for vacation with kids.
Good for family vacation
The cabin is located nicely and has everything you need. The lake and small beach is in a short walking distance. The description on site is very accurate.
The cottage was clean and well stocked with necessities. The only negative about it was the kids day camp about 150 yards away. From about 9am-3pm there were busloads of kids that were brought in & it was very noisy during the day. After a while, you didn't notice the noise that much, but if you're looking for a quiet spot, this might not be the best choice.
The sandy beach was about a 3 minute walk away down a steep (by Florida standards!) hill.
The cottage had a lot of recreational gear, including 2 kayaks and a raft. The dining room easily accommodated our group. The living room TV had Roku (it was great to have Netflix available!). It was very nicely equipped and it was obvious that a lot of care had gone into the renovations.
The cabin has recently been updated and is very well furnished with a lot of amenities. We loved the fire pit area (s'mores anyone?!). The dining room comfortably seated 6, but we squeezed 8 around it for meals and game night. The TV had Roku (so nice to have Netflix available!) and the kitchen was well equipped. There was a bit of a walk to get to the lake, and we had to bring our own chairs each time. The hill back up to the cabin really gave us a workout, but it wasn't bad.
The only negative to the camp is that it is located about 150 yards away from a kids day camp which was quite noisy when campers were in session (9am-3pm).
Exactly what we were hoping for
Even better than the photos and description suggested. Property owner and neighbors were super friendly. The place was well kept and stocked. The lake was easily accessible and quiet. Loved the gas grill, fire pit and chairs and tables in the back. I would not only recommend this place to others, I would recommend this to myself again.
Perfect for small family looking for convenience, location and amenities
This little cabin is very comfortable - it worked very well for us, 1 adult and three children. It is clean, well kept up, and offers easy access both of the lake and local attractions - Including supermarkets, restaurants etc. It came equipped with plenty of linen, toiletry items and even some additional handy items like foil, plastic wrap, etc.
The bathroom is a little Spartan but that's to be expected for a small camp in this part of Maine - and it was certainly clean and fully functional
There were also other conveniences like beach towels, beach chairs, kayaks and other handy items like that
The host were very accommodating and greeted us on day one to make sure everything was going fine - we had an excellent time !
