A large, beautiful, clean lake dotted with over 30 beaches in the Laurentian Hills north of Ottawa, Canada awaits your visit, as does Loon Lodge - built in the 1940s as part of a private, executive Hunting and Fishing Club founded in 1910. This beautifully-appointed lodge sleeps up to 9 people in 4 bedrooms, each with half or full bath.
Modern amenities such as internet and cell access and a washing machine make your experience easy and memorable. A fully-equipped kitchen and dining room encourages leisurely meals to savour - gas stove, fine china, tea sets, all cooking and baking appliances, gas barbecue.
Enjoy touches from days gone by - a hand-cut stone fireplace, original oil lanterns, fine art and artefacts, solid oak flooring, floor-to-ceiling heritage paneling, time-aged pine ceilings, handmade furniture accented with Persian carpets. Bask in sun and shade on 80 + feet of covered porch and open decks surrounding the lodge.
A separate, cozy building includes an authentic spa experience to deepen your relaxation - sauna, shower or lake, and relaxation space for 6 people - as well as a yoga space for up to 5 people.
Enjoy outdoor living on land and in the water - swimming off a dock, raft and beach, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, hiking, hunting, hammock, bocce, fire pit. The beauty and quiet of this secluded, 100-acre old-growth pine peninsula offers privacy as well as the opportunity to stroll through the grounds of this historic space, visit an organic garden, greet fellow cottagers, as well as the opportunity for contemplation and reflection in a small church built in the 1930s.
Boat pick-up is included, a 10-minute ride in a comfortable, covered pontoon. Helpful and friendly staff are available to assist and prepare meals as requested. A pontoon boat is available for rent.
