Fantastic getaway house, great location
Another couple and my wife and me wanted a long weekend to visit Biltmore and the Chihuly exhibit. Rather than stay on-site at Biltmore or in overpriced hotels nearby we found this great cabin in a gated/golf course community. We wanted to visit not just Biltmore but the surrounding area and this location was perfect for a visit to Waynesville, a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway, etc. It's an easy 40 minute drive to Biltmore where you get to spend the entire day being amazed. The only reason we gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that while the house doesn't have, or need air conditioning (even in mid-August when we visited), a dehumidifier would be nice as with the summer heat comes the humidity which makes things feel damp. We're already thinking ahead to next year and planning a longer stay.
Thank you for staying with us! We really enjoyed hosting you last week and appreciated your input! I am happy to report that we installed a dehumidifier the very next day.... the Asheville area has had more rain this summer than they have experienced in over 25 years!
We are looking forward to your next visit!
More than adequate!
Rustic cabin in private golf community. More than adequate for our weekend stay for a nearby triathlon. Plenty of room. Not air-conditioned which didn't matter to us since the temperatures were cool during our stay but I imagine it could get warm in the dead of summer. Very damp and musty, moldy odor throughout but in fairness, I think the area had seen more than a week straight of rain. Excellent communication from owner and very easy check-in procedure.
A wonderful experience!
We enjoyed our stay at Stephanie’s home! It was in a quiet area, yet convenient to many different things. Our drive each day was within 30 to 45 minutes and we covered so many towns. The home was very nice with lots of room. The home was equipped with everything we needed. Stephanie was available whenever we called upon her. We would recommend this property to others.
Nice place but no A/C!!!!
I get it that this is a mountain cabin but there was no A/C and I would have picked another rental if I had known this. We were there in July and it was in the 90's outside and the inside of the cabin got up into the 80's, even with all windows open and the fans going. Very hard to sleep at night, it was soooo hot. I believe it should have been more apparent in the description that IT WAS NOT AIR CONDITIONED.
So disappointed to hear you were uncomfortable! I wish you had mentioned this when I checked in:) I would have been happy to run a portable A/C over to you since I was right down the street!
Traditionally NC mountain homes are not built with air conditioners since we typically enjoy very cool weather!
Beautiful cabin in the mountains
We enjoyed our stay in Stephanie’s cabin. She was very attentive before and during our stay. My son loved having his own room and bathroom. Very spacious and beautiful back
deck. We saw lightning bugs one night. Beds and pillows were super comfy. WiFi worked most of the time , but was intermittent one evening. Rug area in game room needs some deep cleaning from possible past pets. Loved the fans in the bedrooms.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and our time in the Asheville area.
This house couldn't have been in a more beautiful setting. It's only a few minutes from great hiking and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our favorite part was the huge deck on the back of the house. The dog and baby were motoring around while we drank our morning coffee. My daughter's favorite part was the stuffed bear by the fireplace. Any time we were inside she was carrying it around or talking to it. We would definitely consider another stay here!
