Amazing View, Amazing Villa!

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot describe how amazing our time at Villa Il Mignale was! We were greeted by Maria and her daughter Marianna. They showed us around and even arranged a car rental for us! They went above and beyond to help us get situated. After spending our first week in Italy touring Florence and Rome, this was much needed. The views are stunning and the location was perfect to get to Amalfi, Praiano and Positiano easily. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have talked about going back! Do not pass on the opportunity to stay here!

My husband and my sister, brother and sister in law stayed at Villa II Mignale for 4 nights. We arrived by train in Salerno and Maria was great in arranging for a driver to take us to the Villa. We were in awe as we entered the Villa. The views of the Amalfi coast were awesome. Maria and her husband Luca greeted us and took us around the Villa. They were welcoming and very friendly. The Villa was very clean and spacious. It had all the amenities that we required. There is an information book that provides all the info that you need to enjoy your stay.

We enjoyed morning coffee on the main terrace overlooking the coast and watching the sun rise as well as cocktails in the evening watching the sun set. Afternoon rests on the up terrace reading in the sun.

It was easy to get around as the bus stopped just meters away from the Villa. Were able to go to Amalfi and take a water taxi to Positano for the day. A grocery store was in walking distance but be aware that it is a steep climb. Good cardio and exercise.

As one review stated Maria, Luca and Marianna (daughter) we like old friends. Very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at Villa II Mignale if we ever return to the Amalfi Coast.

Just wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My mom and sister and I stayed at Villa Mignale for two weeks in June, and it was really lovely! Like all the reviews say, it is the view that is most special, and we spent much time sitting on the rooftop and the other balconies just looking out at the water and feeling the breeze. The villa is very clean. There are two larger beds and one room with a single bed. Two bathrooms. If you want to stay in a town (Furore) that is quiet and non-touristy, this is a great choice. I would advise having a car though, otherwise, it can be tricky/expensive to get around since you really have to plan around the bus schedule and the taxis are very expensive. There is one restaurant in walking distance (Bacco), and we ate there several times due to the convenience. There is not really a convenient market for groceries within walking distance, so a car would be helpful. However, it is kind of scary to drive on these roads there, so you have to be comfortable with that--we were not!

We were able to visit the following places while there: Capri; Sorrento; Amalfi; Positano; Ravello; Praeno; and Agerola. The other best thing about staying at this villa is how incredibly helpful the family is. They are wonderful and are available to help as needed (give advice; with logistics; arrange taxis, etc.). They are so nice and welcoming, and we will always remember them for their warmth and hospitality. Thank you, Maria and family!!!

In my top 4 vacation locations.

  • 5 of 5

I have been fortunate in my life to have seen a lot of beautiful places and meet a lot of wonderful people. The reviews for this property are spot on. I really don't know what I could add. From reading the reviews, I felt like Maria, Luca and Marianna were old friends. They are the nicest and most accommodating property owners that I have ever met. They really did treat us like friends. Our stay was perfect. I never got tired of the view from the house. The house is everything that it's represented to be. We are returning next year and I can't wait to get back to Furore and Villa Il Mignale. My top 4 vacations spots to date are, not in any particular order, an over water bungaloo in Bora Bora, a mountain chalet sitting above Grindelwald, Switzerland, an apartment in the Rue Cler neighborhood of Paris and now a stunning home with breathtaking views in Furore, Italy. Thanks Maria, Luca and Marianna.

Totally amazing! The villa was perfect and the view as spectacular

  • 5 of 5

My daughters and I visited the Amalfi coast and had this beautiful villa booked for the first part of our stay. We did not want to leave after spending a week here. Everything in the villa was just perfect. Maria had left us a bottle of her homemade limoncello which was excellent! As well as a bottle of wine which was equally as good. The kitchen was well equipped and we made many meals with fresh local products. The beds were also comfortable and we quickly felt right at home.

Maria was always quick at reply to our questions while we were at the villa and was very accommodating. She even arranged for transportation for us at the airport.

The view from the villa was amazing, I could never get enough of standing on the balcony overlooking the beautiful blue waters of Amalfi Coast. We quickly got familiar with the sita bus that was only a 5 minute walk away and took advantage of going into Amalfi a few times for only 1,20 EUR each one way. The sita tickets can be purchased at the Bacco Restaurant which is only a few minutes away (go to the main road from the villa and turn left..you will find it on your left only a few minutes away) We did not want to drive in the area as the winding narrow roads are very tricky to drive and should be left to the experts. For our longer transportation needs we booked with Peppe of Amalfi Coast Service (highly recommended)

Also, the binder with loads of information that Maria left in the villa was helpful, the first night we arrived we ordered pizza (from one of the menus in this binder) surprisingly we managed to communicate in English over the phone and they delivered right to the door! Excellent service and the pizza was delicious.

I don’t think you will be disappointed if you book this villa. I plan to return in a few years and will be renting here again.

Thank you Maria!!!

The best villa we have ever rented in Italy!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have travelled extensively in Italy and when we walked into the Villa Il Mignale, he immediately said, "I think this is the best villa we have ever rented". First of all we were graciously received by Maria, her husband and her daughter. They insisted upon carrying our luggage down the 50 steps. I was both appreciative and embarrassed because we always take rather large and heavy luggage with us! (One note - you must be able to go up and down steps otherwise it would be difficult for you to stay in this villa.) They explained everything about the villa and answered all our questions. They have prepared a wonderful scrapbook that provides very detailed information about the area. It truly contains everything any one would want to know from how to use the bus to local restaurants. The villa is beautiful inside. The quality and attention to detail in its construction really impressed us. I particularly loved the handpainted floor tiles. The air conditioners worked well. We only used one at night to sleep, primarily because it helps me with my allergies. At first I was concerned that the cost would be high but it was only something like 1 Euro a night! The villa was spotless. I am rather fussy in this regard and I can say that it was sparkling clean and everything was in working order. And now to the exterior - I don't know what to say. Words can not express its beauty. It is even more beautiful than it appears to be in the photos. And they have provided plenty of comfortable seating options. The laundry room is off the top deck and it is also modern and spotless. It was very easy to do laundry and to hang it out to dry on the line. Maria also has an iron and ironing board in the laundry room which was also very convenient to have. I can not recommend Villa Il Mignale enough. We hope to return someday.
