About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8 (8 adults)

Make plans for a Texas-sized vacation with the family at this two-story, waterfront home with table games including pool, air hockey, and foosball, a full kitchen, furnished balcony, and a wood burning fireplace.

This spacious, three-bedroom home sits alongside Bee Creek off the Colorado River allowing you to easily drop in with a canoe, standup paddleboard, or kayak and paddle away on waterborne adventures out on Lake Travis. This rental is also just 25 miles west of the heart of Austin for shopping, dining, and of course plenty of live music and entertainment!

Featuring a mix of flagstone and hardwood floors, stacked stone walls, and a variety of other unique design features both inside and out, this is a special property with a castle-like aesthetic that also offers all the desirable, modern conveniences of home.

The living area has plenty of comfortable seating options and a wood burning fireplace. This space also doubles as a game room with poker, pool, and foosball tables as well as a convenient wet bar.

Take a couple steps up and into the dining area with its large, farm-style table, chairs, and benches, enough space for twelve to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. This area also holds an air hockey table for even more fun!

The bright, well-equipped, full kitchen has plenty of prep space, cabinets and drawers stocked with essential accessories, cookware, and utensils, and a full array of appliances including a range, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeemaker, slow cooker, and dishwasher.

All three bedrooms are located upstairs in this home: the master suite has a king-sized bed, the first guest room has a queen, and the kids will have a blast in the third bedroom featuring two sets of twin bunks. With three bedrooms and two full baths, this home sleeps up to eight guests very comfortably. The family dog is also welcome to accompany you during your stay for an additional nightly fee.

Get online with ease thanks to the provided WiFi, and keep up with all your favorite shows and movies on three cable TVs, some of which can stream your personal Netflix account! The TV in the bunk room also has a DVD player, so bring along a few movies for the kids to enjoy! This home also comes with a washer and dryer, so you can start each day of your vacation with fresh, clean clothes.

While there's plenty of fun to be had at home with the provided game tables, and the four kayaks in the storage unit, you may find yourself sitting back and relaxing on the balcony where you can catch up on some reading while deer wander through your grassy backyard. (Please note that the grounds are shared with a cottage that is also on the property.)

For shopping, dining, and a movie theater, be sure to visit the Hill Country Galleria just 10 miles away in nearby Bee Cave. Golfers will want to bring their clubs and head over to the historic Lions Municipal Golf Course alongside the Colorado River, 25 miles away, or to the two public golf courses within just two miles: Pedernales Country Club and Falcon Head. And no visit to the area would be complete without spending some time in the state capital of Austin, renowned for its live-music scene, as well as its many parks, lakes, and phenomenal restaurants. And close to home, you'll have Lee's, a great spot for burgers and pizza and under four miles from you. There's also a neighborhood public ramp, just one block from the house at the end of Lake Drive Road. There's also a new 10X20 swimming platform with a walkway from land.

Book this rental today and start planning for a fun-filled getaway with the whole family or a group of friends at this unique, waterfront home away from home!

About Vacasa, TX - Texas Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

I don’t know how to feel.

  • 2 of 5

We had a mixed experience at this house. I will leave an honest review for all future renters.

The Good: A lot to do.

We enjoyed the poker table, pool table, foosball, kayaks and the fire pit. The amenities were as described and great. Towels were clean. Perfect for a guys weekend out.

The bad: after paying almost $850 for a weekend I expected a lot more cleanliness especially because of the $200 “cleaning fee”. I was thoroughly disgusted by the fact that there was a huge cluster of RAT POOP in the master bedroom bed and on one of the bunk beds. Upset, I called the rental manager, Jaynelle. She said:

- they have never had an issue with rats

-no one has ever complained about rats or poop before

- she went on to say that, rats are a “NORMAL” thing and she has them at her home too. She scoffed when I told her that I didn’t have rats in my house and it’s not normal to have rat poop on a bed I paid to sleep on.

- she mentioned that the last time someone cleaned was 2 weekends ago.

[I have video and pics]

- someone did come by when we were away and changed sheets on both beds and cleaned the rat poop.

- I was saddened that I didn’t receive an apology and no one took responsibility for the incident.

Cups and plates were clean. Steel utensils had white spots all over them and other dishes looked like they were bought at a goodwill store. Washing them didn’t help.

Bathrooms were stacked well with soap, towels and shampoo. The house had good heat/AC.

Fire pit was a great addition with a lot of wood and twigs around.

Ample parking for 3-4 cars. There was a grill outside but didn’t look usable.

WIFi was available

Property manager responded as soon as I reached out with my concern.

I won’t visit again till property has been pest controlled and inspected .

Not for the Elderly

  • 3 of 5

This home is well-stocked with entertainment opportunities and we thoroughly enjoyed having a pool table. However, this trip was a birthday gift for our 90 year old Dad and this property is not suitable for the elderly. The stairs have one step that's a different height than the others and the handrails are different heights on each side. The main floor has several odd little step-ups (only a couple of inches high) which were a concern for all of us.

Nice, but needs a few things

  • 4 of 5

Overall this place was pretty good, but it was missing a few things that keep it from 5 stars.

1.) This is a SHARED property, but that is not obvious from the listing. Basically, there is a house next door that could also use the dock, yard, and fire pit. It wasn't an issue for us because the people in the other house never came outside.

2.) Missing outside lights. The side yard with the grill really needs some outside lights or an outlet. They were broken.

3.) Couldn't get the cable to work. They claim there is cable but we only got two broadcast channels and the cable box never sent a signal. We didn't need TV so we didn't call, but just know you might have to call someone.

4.) No response from "owner." This is run by some company in California, and they never responded to my questions prior to arriving. I wanted to know about a grill, and early check in, but never heard anything. We did have a note with a phone number upon arrival, but by then it didn't matter.
