Great house in a convenient location.

  • 5 of 5

The house is roomy enough for two couples and children. Since it was only my wife and I, we had tons of space. The kitchen is well appointed for those guests of culinary persuasion. This made it easy for my wife and I to make and pack lunches for our day trips to the north shore or the west. It takes 2 hours to get to Kokee and less than an hour to get to ke’e beach (end of road on north shore). That about makes every part of the island accessible from this house. In summary, we had an awesome time exploring the island and calling this house home.

Andy was very responsive to any inquiries we had, and made the logistics of our reservation, arrival, and stay easy.

safe, clean, functional, convenient, affordable

  • 5 of 5

This was the 4th time we have stayed at this property. Nice landscaping affording you privacy even though close to highway and other residences. Steve, the caretaker lives close but you never see him unless their is a need.We have never had a need. Never felt unsafe. The house is clean upon arrival. The floor plan works. Great kitchen. Plenty of appliances, cookware, dishes and utensils. Wonderful showers including one outside. A nice front porch and a spacious lanai in the back. A short drive to beaches, towns and other sites. We find we can extend our stay due to its affordability. Several couples can share this home without feeling cramped. We have done our research, looked at many sites, and find no better bargain than this house. The owner is very accommodating and responds to all calls and inquiries. I recommend this house to all family and friends. We will return again is 2019.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Very easy to get to this beautiful home. There was 5 Adults and an 8 month old in our party. True to advertising, we were very well looked after from towels, baby equipment, toys, books, all pots and pans, utensils and even some food. The suggestion of "go to the house first, check the supplies, then go shopping" is very fitting here. We arrived around midnight so our only regret was that we never packed in a bit of coffee grounds for our 1st morning. We stayed for 3 weeks. In addition there is a small slow cooker, a rice cooker, and a blender. We took advantage of the big boxes of outdoor toys/chairs. The beds were comfortable, the water tasted great right out of the taps but used the Britta in the fridge. There is lots of storage containers to use. We added a couple coolers, a small and a large one to take with you on the road. Andy and his wife was next door when we walked over. We were so glad we got to meet them. Andy came over and fixed the phone and some light bulbs immediately when we mentioned it. There are lots of Kauai reference books as well as books to read, games, dvds etc. Lots of kid books too. Bring a bib for your toddler, as had to use tea towel till we bought a souvenir. All in all, this house suited us. It is central located. A 5 minute drive to a couple beaches, 15 minute drive to Kappa, 20 to Princeville. There was some road noise, but we are spoiled as we live around no traffic and any noise is noticeable. The roosters... Well, everyone complains. Lol. I raise chickens, so I like them! Pay attention to the birds, sunrises, King Kong. Beauty is all around. Take advantage of the general store for ice, booze, snacks... The poke is good there! And the Ono burger, and the Shave Ice! All next door! Also, on top of the next hill is a thrift store/market. On Sundays is the farmers market. The lilikoi jam and lime jam is to dye for! $15 a jar. Worth it! We rented 2 cars $35/day each from "rent a wreck" in lihue. No problems! We spent lots of time outside on both lanai's. We met Uncle Steve, and also the neighbor to the North. They shared lots of local fruits and veges as well as Ahi one night. Free WiFi and any phone calls world wide. There is so many things to mention, not enough space. Call me 13068322070. I definitely want to go back! Thank you again Andy for opening your home for us. We hope we get back there one day soon! Bryan & Linda J.

Feels like home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for us and our group of 7. It's very private and surrounded by lush tropical landscape. It is close to Kuhio hwy and there is some road noise, but it's not bothersome. It's a great location on the island, close to nice beaches and the north shore. Kapa'a is a short drive for shopping. It does not have AC, which could be a problem in the hottest part of summer, but it was ok for us in June. There are lots of portable fans and ceiling fans. If we are lucky enough to make it back, we would definitely stay here again!

Where do you live?

Beautiful, well-provisioned home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this home for our 7th visit to the island and because a rental of another property fell through, which left us scrambling. We are so happy this home was available. It is in our favorite location, East Side ("Sunrise Side") of the island, in a local neighborhood, and very near two favorite local beaches, the near-deserted Moloa'a Bay, and Anahola beach, which is more swimmable than most. The Anahola area is a great launching point for going north or south and enjoying all that the island has to offer. The house is beautifully decorated, furnished, with comfortable beds, and AWESOME walk-in shower and garden tub and the best-provisioned kitchen of any rental home we've stayed in! The mountain view off the back deck and through the back windows is spectacular and while we were there during a really hot, muggy spell, with no trade winds, the house could be quite warm during the day, but the owner has provided multiple portable fans, which, when placed in front of the open windows/doors helps to cool you off. Andy was very repsonsive during the reservation process as well as during arrival and our stay. We reached out a couple of times with questions, and we always got an answer right away! It was just the two of us, but with all the beach gear and games provided, it's easy to see this would be a great rental for a family or larger group.

Very private, lush setting, mountain view

  • 5 of 5

First off, Andy was a total gem. Dealing with him was an absolute pleasure. He worked with us on both arrival and check out and was just super flexible with us all around. The house is very open and spacious. The house was pretty well stocked with whatever we needed including a pack N play for our baby, and kids toys and books which is really helpful when traveling with little ones. Anahola beach, which is a perfect toddler beach, was only a 5 minute drive away. Anahola doesn't have much in the town, just a very small general store and a fantastic acai bowl place, you'll be driving everywhere- but you're also 15 minsfrom Kapaa and 20-30 from Hanaeli Bay and Princeville. We had a wonderful time and even used the outdoor shower. I do recommend bug spray though, it's basically a private jungle, yet beautiful, yard!
