Perfect little oasis of calm
The cottage exceeded expectations, and is a lovely little ‘home from home’ set in a stunning location near Loch Lomond.
Everything has been thought through by the owners to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Loved the little garden with the stream running through it, and the wide variety of birds that visited the bird feeders, including chaffinches, blue tits, cuckoos etc, and is wonderful to sit there at breakfast time watching them.
All the mod-cons, but Wi-fi is a little flakey as you might expect for such a remote location, but we managed to get 4G on our phones (EE), so could still stream films etc of an evening using those.
We had some very warm and sunny weather, so would advise not to open the windows in this type of weather, unless you want the place full of midges.
There is a lovely pub/restaurant in Balmaha a few miles away from the cottage, which does very nice food including breakfast. There’s also a little shop next door, for basic shopping needs.
All in all, a lovely stay, and highly recommended 👌🏻👍🏻
Easter at dubh loch
Wonderful stay in lovely location - highly recommend it.
Peace and tranquility
The cottage and grounds were amazing, owners were incredibly helpful from start to finish. Location good, out of the way, but that suited us.
Stunning Get Away
Stayed here for a week in April this year. A stunning cottage in a stunning location. Far quieter than the west shore. Quiet and secluded, with walking from the door along the West Highland Way in both directions. 5 minutes from the shore and Sallochy Bay ( then off the other side of the road into Sallochy Woods).
Cottage has everything that you will need and more.
Would definitely recommend to anyone, couples or families (and those with dogs who like to walk) who are looking for the perfect getaway... absolute bliss.
Hope to return again in the not too distant future.
Lovely peaceful location
Lovely well equipped cottage in a quiet location. Fabulous views and positioned right on the edge of the Loch. Some great walks on the doorstep.
Superb cottage for families or couples.
Magical Location and Perfect "Getaway" Property
We spent a magical Christmas and New Year at Dubh Loch Cottage and I can't wait to return at some point. The setting is amazing and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful property in a stunning part of Scotland.
Dubh Loch cottage sits on the East banks of Loch Lomond. Loch Lomond is one of Scotland's premier attractions offering peace, tranquility and the perfect escape at any time of year, yet within easy reach of Scotland's major cities (Glasgow 25 miles, Edinburgh 70 miles) and Stirling 35 miles. Enjoy watersports on Loch Lomond or stroll along it's unspoilt bays and beaches (Sallochy, one of the most beautiful bays is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage). Walk the famous West Highland Way which passes right around the Dubh Loch, climb Ben Lomond (3 miles away) or enjoy some spectacular cycling scenery. Nearby pubs and restaurants offer local produce and a welcome tipple. Close to some of Scotland's top golf courses.
