We are sure you will love this part of Costa Rica as much as we do. This gated complex with 24 hour security is situated among local residences. You will get to experience a bit of the tico way of life as you head out to the beach. No need to drive as the beach is a short walk from the condominium. You may even find a few chickens keeping you company along the way :) Enjoy the variety of restaurants such as Citron (near the Hard Rock Cafe), Claudio Y Gloria not only serves great pasta but offers a great view of the beautiful sunsets as it backs onto the beach. Bar el Ancla offers beachfront fast food, beer and drinks. Coconutz Sports Bar offers good food, good drinks, and an 'wildlife experience' as the howler monkeys pass over you through the trees. Only in Costa Rica! Lizard lounge and Zi lounge are open late and are great spots for music, drinks and fun times. You'll find your favorite places as you get to know Playas Del Coco. Auto Mercado and Super Luperon are nearby grocery stores where you will find just about everything you might need during your stay. They also sell beer, wine, liquor, etc.
Some of our favorite excursions include Zip-lining at the Congo Trail Canopy tour, which is only 25 minutes away from the condo. If you visit the monkey cage do not let them pick pocket you! They can be very distracting =)

Monteverde- This is a few hours away, so you'll need to plan and start your day early. I highly recommend taking a tour bus for this. My husband and I drove up that mountain (in a little hyundai!!). I was hanging by the edge of my seat, afraid to move in case we tumbled the car down the mountain. Those roads were rough and tiny making it a very scary and rough ride. I would never drive it again! You are literally as high as the clouds, and it is a beautiful and breathtaking view that you'll never forget. Cloud forest, hummingbird garden, zip-lining, horseback riding and so much more to do. Llanos De Cortez waterfall is off the beaten track. You'll need a good sturdy pair of shoes for this trek down rough ground. I promise it is worth every step. I call a little taste of heaven here on earth. Check it out if you can. It's busy with ticos on the weekend, but during the week you might find you'll be blessed to have it all to yourself for a little while! Here is a link of it's location:
My husband and boys love fishing in Costa Rica. Nothing beats hearing them talk about their experience deep sea fishing, or waking up early and fishing off the coast. They always come back with dinner... the catch of the day :)
There are two seasons in Costa Rica. The low(wet) season is my favorite because of the lush vegetation and beautiful colors. It runs from mid May to early November. Our first visit to Costa Rica was during the wet season. It rained but for about an hour on some days followed by sun. Most often it rained during the evening. We did A LOT of exploring and the rain barely had an impact at all. I prefer the slower pace and lack of crowds.
The high(dry) season (mid November to early May), is great if you absolutely don't want it to rain. If you visit in the second half of November, December, or January there is still some life in the vegetation. Expect, as the dry season progresses, it will greet you with dry, brittle forests lacking in vibrant color, but still very much showing off it's beauty.
When you visit Costa Rica, you will create memories that will stay with you for a lifetime. One visit and you'll be lured by the magical energy of this beautiful country and you'll want to return. We welcome you to stay at our Cocomarindo property, which we have filled with good wishes for a lovely time during your stay!
